The meeting was called to or der by the district president, Mrs. Lundis Hulla. Roll call was answered : lth 12 clubs being represented. , Talks were given by Mrs. Jocka, district chairman on par liamentary procedure; Mrs. M. C. Osuorn, district chairman on public affairs, safety, and law enforcement and Mrs. Calvin Sterna on membership. The meeting was dismissed for lunch which-was served by the Guild in lh"church basement. In ttie afternoon tession, In formative talks were given by Mrs. Hugh Slander Jr. on Jun ior clyb plans and objectives; Mary Nichols, second vice presi dent oi duties of chairmen, Mrs. Fred Naber, third vice president on planting programs for the 1000-61 club year; and by Mrs. Rulla on the duties of the of ficers and program help. The An nual plant and miscellaneous sale was held. Many members and visitors were present. Following the business meet ing, Mrs. Franklin Wehrbein read the devotions. Karen and Ellen Engelkmeier played a pi ano duet. A duet was sung by Margie and Marlene Schafer. Joan Wehrbein played a piano solo. The pupils of Oxford School sang, accompanied by their teacher, Mrs. Irvin Albert. The Hostesses, Mrs. Franklin Wehrbein and Mrs. Roy Engelk meier, served lunch. The previous meeting was held with Mrs. Herbert Franke and Mrs. August Siemoniet as hos tesses. Mrs. Ed Meisinger gave the devotions. May 25, the Society will meet again in the church with Mrs. Clarence Engelkmeier and Mrs. Ernest Hild as hostesses. Mrs. Arthur Weten kamp, Mrs. Gertrude Barnard and Mrs. Wayne Schneider were hostesses. The lesson on the mission fields of Kentucky, Ybor Ciity. Florida, aid New Mexico was presented by Mrs. Melvln Schafer ar.d Mrs. Larry Vallery. The 4-H Helpers Club met at the home of leader Mrs. Richard Streetcr. The club has been studying Meat Cookery and the basic needs for meat in the diet. McFadden spoke on par ent-child education In religion in the home at the meeting of the Holy Trinity Guild at the home of Mrs. Merle Meyer of Nehawka. Monday afternoon. He also asked the women to contribute to the Deanery Coun cil of Catholic Women project for the building program in Lincoln. Mrs. Otoe Straub was elected secretary. Mrs. Leslie Behrns is the retiring secretary. Re-elected were Mrs. Ralph Meyer, president; Mrs, Merle Meyer, vice president; Mrs. Oscar Zim merer, treasurer. Members voted to purchase a Roberts Rules of Paliamntay Law. Mrs. Leonard Schreiter Is a new member. The summer ca techism classes will be held from May 30 through June 10 at Syracuse with three Sisters of Nebraska City as instructors. The Guild netted $98.10 from a bake sale and lunch at the hall Saturday afternoon. Mem bers voted to give Father Daniel Pohl a cash gift for his birth day and anniversary of his or dination. Extension Club At Nehawka Meets NEHAWKA (Special) The Nehawka Extension Club has planned a tour to Omaha on June 17. The club met with Mrs. Merle Meyer Wednesday after noon. Mrs. John Barkhurst gave a report on the Cass County Tea held at Weeping Water Tuesday afternoon. Members who attended were Mmes. Harvey Bailer, John Barkhurst, Jack Lindsey, Dick Johnson. The club received a 50- star flag for completing the club goals and was among the honor clubs that day. An exhibit of the club work was to be placed in the Adams Drug Store window to observe notional home demonstration week, May 1-7. Members made ceramic tile trays. The next regular meeting will be a July picnic at the home of Mrs. Duane Everrett. Janice McGraw Bride-Elect Honored At Party Janice McGraw was honored at a bridal shower , Thursday j evening at the home of Mrs. Dale Jackson. Janice is the daughter of Mr and Mrs. Clifford McGraw and will be married June 4 at the Holy Rosary church to Robert Pohlmeier son of Mr. and Mrs. George Pohlmeier. The bride-elect received her many lovely gifts from a lace covered table with a nuptial centerpiece. Games were played and priz es were won by Mrs. Bruce Gold, Jr., Mrs. George Pohl meier, Mrs. Ed Karbowski, and Mrs. H. E. Tincher. Assisting the bride-elect in opening her gifts were Mrs. Clifford McGraw. Lunch was served by the host esses Mrs. Melvin Ditterr.ore and Mrs. Dale Jackson. Whaley Family Has Reunion LOUISVILLE (Special) The Whaley family held a reunion April 30, at the American Le gion Hall. Those present were, Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Fellowship Tea Held Friday The May Fellowship Tea of the Council of Churches was held at the Presbyterian Church here. Mrs. Newton Sullivan, president, resided. Mrs. Keith Delap gave the de votions and Mrs. J. Howard Davis, christian social relation chairman, had charge of the program. Mrs. George Jacobs played the organ prelude and Mrs. Wayne Hendrix sang a solo. Mrs. Davis introduced Rev erend Joseph Barr of the Mur ray Presbyterian Church who was the speaker using as his .topic "Citizenship." Mrs. Roy Cole and Mrs. Rog er Hild played a piano duet. Following the program Mrs. Sullivan invited everyone to the Fellowship Room for refresh ments. The tea table was beau tifully rirrorntorl with Lire cloth. candles and spring flowers. M r Mrs. Larry Miss Miller, Larry Curnes Wed At Elmwood Methodist Church The Elmwood Methodist chur ch was the setting for the April wedding of Miss Raylene Mil ler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Miller, and Larry Curnes, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Curn es of Falls City. The bride wore a gown of re embroidered lace and tulle with a scalloped square neckline edg ed in tiny seed pearls and irldes cents. The full floor-length skirt fashioned of silk organza over tulle featured appliques of re embroidered lace. Her veil of silk drape from a half cap fea turing desiens. of nearls. She carried American Beautv roses and my of tne, vaiiQJfl on a, white. lace Bihle . .1 ;, ; Her maid of honor was her sister, Mardelle Miller. Mrs. Roger Killion of Auburn was! matron of honor. Miss Karen Hansen of Elmwood and Miss Kathy Streich of Murdock were bridesmaids. The attendants wore frocks of silk organza in azure blue. The bodice featured Sabrina necklines V'd at the back. Softly .crushed cummer bunds of blue circled the waist lines fashioning back bows and streamers. The deeply hemmed bouffant skirts were of baller ina length. They wore bande aux of azure blue organza bows and leaves with matching face veils and carried blue and white Chrysanthemums. Steven Jones of Falls City was ring bearer, and Dee Ann Fenti man of Unadilla was flower girl. Lighting the candles were Ty nette Fentiman of Unadilla and Norma Curnes, Falls City, the groom's -sister. The flower girl I and candlelighters wore frocks similar to the attendants. Dan Fentiman of Unadilla acted as junior groomsman. Mrs. Loy Jones of Falls City presided at the guest book. Jerry Foster of Falls City was best man. Serving as ushers were Richard Carlson of Falls City, Roger Killion of Auburn and Erik Mortensen of Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Curnes" are liv ing at Peru where both attend college. Mrs. Curnes was honored at a shower at the Christian Church the evening of April 26. A com plete unit of decoration sur rounded the gift table and shar ed its center of interest with the lovely' serving table. Many games and stunts entertained everyone. A most delicious lun ch was served after the bride opened her many lovely gifts. Out of town guests were Mrs. Bernard Curnes and Norma and Mrs. L'oy Jones of Falls City, Mrs. Gene Parsons of Lincoln, Mrs. Ray Fentiman and Mrs. Glen Fentiman of Unadilla, and Mrs. Charles Gonzales of Iowa. Mrs. Paul Eveland, Mrs. Ted Hall and Mrs. LeRoy, .Cook nf, Te-icamah entertained at Mrs.. Eveland's home in honor of the bride. The evening passed too Quickly as guests visited and: embroidered a set of tea towels for the bride. Angel pie and coffee were served after the at tractively wrapped gifts were opened. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Fentiman entertained the complete bridal party. Several bouquets of blue and white gladioli were used in the living room and as table decorations. Lunch was served from the dining room which everyone enjoyed along with much conversation. Out of town guests were: Mr. Larry Curnes, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Curnes and Noma, Mrs. Loy Jones ,Mr. Jerry Foster and Mr. Carlson all of Falls City, Miiss Kathy Streich of MurdocK, Miss- Karen Hansen, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Killion of Auburn, and Mr. Mortensen of Omaha. Legion Auxiliary Unit Has Meeting EAGLE The American Le gioft Auxiliary met, May 2 plj the home of Mrs. Paul May; 15 I members were present. j Plans were made to attend the : County Convention to be held in Weeping Water Friday night, May 13. Lunch was served by Mrs. May assisted by Mrs. Wilma Harrison. Next hostesses will be Mrs. Ida Muenchau and Mrs. Mary Old field. The Legion joined in for lunch. Door prize was drawn by Min- nie Bird. Mrs. Shafpr Is Hostess To Mrs. Mynard Club The Mrs. Mynard Club met last Wednesday in the social room of the E.U.B. Church. Mrs. Melvln Shafer was hostess to dessert luncheon. The president, Mrs. George Jacobs conducted the meeting. Mrs. Shafer had the lesson, "Song of the American Negro" and concluded by showing films. Next meeting is May 18 at the home of Mrs. George Jacobs.
