Mr. and Mrs. Zessln later called on Mr. and Mrs, Earl Kowen and Mrs. Deforest Ward In Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Llnville of Omaha were Sunday after noon guests of Mr. and Mrs, Fred Unville. Mr, and Mrs. Gree ley Beil of Murray were Sunday dinner guests at the Llnville home. Fred Llnville has been under the care of a doctor the past week hut Is better at this writing. JoAnn Hermance of Lincoln spent from Saturday until Mon day night with Mr. and" Mrs. Wilson Bickford and Reggie while her parents visited Terry Bickford and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Fisher and family at Columbia, Missouri. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bruns of Dunbar and Mr. and Mrs. Hu bert Bowman were Saturday eve ning ' guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bruns arid Tamtly., Mr. and Mrs. Norman Urwin and Alan were Saturday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Cooper. Kit and Sheri Cooper were evening lunch guests. Mrs. Henry' Hoffman was a Friday afternoon guest of Mrs. Harold Bruns and family. Mrs. A. J. Patterson was taken to the St. Elizabeth hospital in Lincoln early Sunday morning by ambulance. She fell in the bathroom about four a m. and suffered a severe cut on her head. She is under observation at the hospital. Mrs. I. C. Reed spent the past week in Carter Lake, Iowa with her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Carouso. She was unable to get home because of the snowstorm. Mr. Carouso and Michael White brought her home Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Victor Plunkett, Jr. was a Sunday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eanos Plunkett and family. ' Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Holt and Kenneth were Friday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wiles. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wiles were Sunday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Bergmann, Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Livingston were callers the past week on Mr. and Mrs. Victor Plunkett, Jr. Mrs. Katie Opp has purchas ed a trailer house and has it moved behind the Rest Haven Home which is ow'ned by her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Eanos FTunkett. She form erly lived in the Wiles apart ments. . Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Pilford enjoyed an evening of bowling in Plattsmouth Sunday evening. Mrs. Farley Amick and Bret, Mrs. Harold Bruns and child ren, Mrs. Clarence King, Mrs. James Dnyle, Mrs. Kenneth Boyd and children and Gina Mihulka were Thursday morn ing coffee guests of Mrs. Ray mond Freeman, honoring Mrs. Freeman on her birthday. The birthday luncheon of the Christian Women's Fellowship was held on Thursday at the home of Mrs. Stanley Schroeder of Louisville. Green shamrocks and favors were at each place. Mrs. Schroeder and Mrs. Ralph Hyde made the decorations. Honored at the birthday table were Mrs. Victor Schwarz and Susan, Mrs. David Baxter, Mrs. Charles Freeman, Mrs. Cyrus Livingston and Mrs. Edward Van Horn. The theme for the devotions and lesson was "Making Hearts Glow". Mrs. Charles Freeman presented the lesson, assisted by Mrs. Schwarz, Mrs. Ed Free man, Mrs. Hyde, Mrs. Baxter and Mrs.. Schroeder. Mrs. Ed Freeman, Mrs. Leo Christensen and Mrs. Harmons were appoint ed on the nominating committee. The Junior Circle will meet on April 7 with Mrs. Rothe and the Senior Circle with Mrs. Cyrus Livingston with Mrs. John Van Horn as co-hostess. Hostesses for the next gener al meeting will be Mrs. Leon Bond, Mrs. Schwarz and Mrs. William Klemme. The Mothers Afternoon Out Extension Club met on Wednes day afternoon at the home of Mrs. Clarence Sehmadeke. Mrs. William Finley gave the lesson on Shoes Tnat Fit . ine Aprn meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Edward Van Horn. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Ranney were Monday dinner guests of Mrs. J. M. Bachman home to be with their mother Mrs. Emma Jones who became ill Wednesday. Mrs. Jones is now better and able to be up part of the time. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Strum spent Friday in Nehawka. Minerva Schliefert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Schlie fert, of Manley, is teaching the second semester at the Central ia, Washington school in the Home economics teacher in the Weeping Water school when it was started and also organized the first F.H.A. in the school. There were 24 students who took the National Merit Scholar ship Qualifying Test at the Weeping Water High school on Tuesday. The students will know the results of the test be fore the end of the semester. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Rothe at tended an electrical meeting Sunday evening at the Town Hall Ball Room in Omaha. Fol lowing the dinner, Mrs. Ethel Daugherty presented a style revue of spring styles. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Thoren and Mr. and Mrs. Byron Baker were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Thoren and Mr. and Mrs. Byron Baker were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Sigvald Jensen, for birthday cake and ice cream in honor of the birthday of Mrs. Thoren. Cathy Callahan had the mis fortune to fall on the ice the past week and cut a severe gash in her hand. She was car rying a glass to a neighbor and in the fall it broke. She was tak en to the doctor and several stitches were required to close the wound. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Seh madeke and family were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Bodston and family. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Fick and Karen of Lincoln were evening supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Carnes. Karen remained for a longer visit. Mrs. Olson is well and active and helps with house work and enjoys visiting in the homes of her relatives when weather and roads permit. Mr. and Mrs. Al Schirmer of Kansas City, Mo., spent last Louisville Resident 50 Years To Live In Indianapolis LOUISVILLE (Special) -Fred Brammer, who has lived in Louisville for almost 50 years, was to leave the last of the week to make his home in Indiana polis, Ind. with his daughter, Miss Gertrude. Brammer was born in Germany and came to Nebraska while a young man. He moved to Louisville in 1911 and was employed at the Na tional Stone Quarry for many years. When The Ash Grove Cement Company came to Louisville in 1927 he went to work for them and remained with them until his retirement several years ago. He was assistant superintendent In charge of the quarry. Mrs. Brammer died about a year ago and his daughter final ly persuaded him to come and live with her. Miss Gerturde has an excellent position in Indi anapolis as a dietitian for a large department store. Brammer has always taken an actve part in civic affairs of the town and will be greatly missed. A few samples of his hobby are the iron railing on the steps of the Legion Building, the iron letters at the City Park en trance and the iron wreath of acacia over the door of the Ma sonic Temple in Springfield. SENTENCED TO DEATH Virginia Beach, Va., The carp in Lake Holly have really eaten their heads off, so to speak. They chewed grass and roots at the lake's edge and caused a highway to collapse. The highway ran along the edge of the Water. A city, council verdict ruled that the carp were to be poison ed and the lake restored with a variety of game fish. 6 Louisville Dr.im.i Students Receive 'Excellent' Ratings LOUISVILLE ( Special -Twelve Louisville Mi;h School .students and their teacher, Mrs. Ruth Leadabrand and Mrs. Eric? Davis as sponsor, attended the district dramatics meet at Peru State Teachers College March 18. Six received 'excellent" rat ings and three of these had raised their ratings lrom prev ious ratings in competition. Excellent ratings were receiv ed by Joe Citta, news com mentary; Dorothy Cliristian.son, prose reading, ami Kay Albeit, interpretive speech, in the group receiving higher ratings than thier first performance. Other excellent ratings were received by John Slohlmann in discussion, in his first attempt at this speech activity, John Du vis in original speech and Jane en Hubbell in her first attempt at discission. Mary Heil, reading poetry and Janean Hubbell, extemproan eous received good ratings. Janean had the misfortune to run overtime which lowers the ratings. A play reading, "Seeds of Sus picion" was presented by a group of sophomores and one junior in competition with older students and received a , good rating. Participating in the play were Jack Welch, Kathy Camp bell, Jim Brown, Darrell Derby and Nancy Johnson.
