Mr. and Mrs. John West have donated several books to the library. Mrs. Jack Hines was a guest. Mr. and Mrs. John Chandler visited Mrs. Ralph Snavely at Elmwood Thursday., Their eve ning guests were Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Stoll. Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Davis and family of Sabetha, Kansas were Sunday afternoon and evening guests of Mrs. Hoback. Benefit Dinner Three-hundred and ninety six dinners were served Sunday at the annual benefit held at the school auditorium. The Jun ior Woman's Club realized $406. 54, they were assisted by the Senior Woman's Club, the American Legion Auxiliary and individual donations. One half of the proceeds will be sent to the New March ot Dimes, the oilier half will be equally divid ed for cancer, heart and Multi ple sclerosis. Getchius underwent sur gery at St. Mary's Hospital in Nebraska City Monday morning. Mrs. Mary House of Dunbar is staying with Mrs. Getchius. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Royal call ed their son John, of Dell City, Tex., on his birthday. Kevin and Debra Royal of Nebraska City were guests of their grandpar ents from Wednesday until Sun- ' day. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Royal , joined them for the day Sun day. Mrs. Oren Pollard received word of the death of her aunt, Mrs. Isadore Cull of Newark, ' New York. Mrs. Cull was 86 years old. Bill Schlichtemeier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schlichtemeier, was 12 Wednesday. His birthday dinner guests in the evening were Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Sch lichtemeier and family. Vicki O'Connor was nine years old Friday. Her evening party guests were Mrs. Merle Meyer, Jolene and Marin. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford O'Con nor will have their farm sale February 19 and will then move to the Wildon Switer tenant house. Mr. O'Connor is the new driver of a tank truck for the Farmers Coop oil company. Student Teachers Mrs. Edward Nielsen Jr. and Mrs. Errol Mitlyng of Lincoln are the homemaking student teachers from the University of Nebraska for the second semester at Nehawka high school. They will do their student teaching under the supervision of Mrs. Helen Frledli until March 18. They are seniors at the Univer sity and will graduate In June. Adult Class The second series of Monday afternoon adult homemaking1 classes began Feb. 8 from 3 to! 5 at the Nehawka school. "Hints ( For The Hostess" will take up . manners, etiquette, large quan-, tity cooking, preparation of f specific foods.
