Ralph Wildrick E:d(iie Welte, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Welte, was aceiclent ly shot In the eye with a BB gun in the hands of a playmate while playing Sunday afternoon. He was taken to the Methodist hos pital in Omaha. It Friday night, the last night of the AkSar-Ben Tournaments, Louisville played Ashland for third place in the tournament and won 51 to 42. Louisville was the only Class C team in the Tourney and won two out of three games to give it a good tourney record. Mr. and Mrs. Grover Bramel of Omaha were here Sunday to visit with her mother, Mrs. Mary Group. Mrs. Group returned to Omaha with them for a visit. Fred Masters celebrated his 80th birthday Jan. 26. He is en joying good health and has not been ill except for a slight cold. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wildrick visited Fred Wildrick at the Rest Haven Home in Weeping Water Sunday afternoon and were eve ning luncheon guests at the Bill Kunz home. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Woolhiser and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Woolhiser were in Omaha Monday where Joe Woolhiser had his check-up at the Clinic at the St. Joseph Hospital. Mr .and Mrs. Lewis Baker and children of Weeping Water I were Sunday guests at the home 1 of Mr. and Mrs. Don Urwin. j Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Helm of Lincoln were Sunday guests at: the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rich-I ard Heim. LeRoy Hennings of Anchor age, Alaska called his dad. Phil ip Hennings, early Thursday morning to wish him a happy birthday. LeRoy 's birthday was Wednesday and his dad's Thurs day so he waited until almost midnight in Alaska before call ing his dad so they could both say happy birthday to each oth er. There is four hours difference ! between here and Alaska. ! Mrs. Harris C. Warren (form- erly Laura Grace Lesan) writes) they are settled in their new j home. Guests present and their mothers were Mrs. Wendell Felghner and Keri Jo, Mrs. Leonard Vaughn and Matt. Mrs. Donald Dobbs and Douglas and Mrs. Fred Meyers. Sunday afternoon callers at the Dale Steinkamp home were Mr. and Mrs. Leo Erhart and family of Manley. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Mason were in Nebraska City Saturday doing some shopping and also visited at the home of their dau ghter, Mrs. Thelma Heilig and Alan. Mr. and Mrs. William Birk man, Mrs. Kenneth Wellsandt and Miss Letha Peters all of Talmage were dinner guests Sunday of Mrs. Anna Harms. Mrs. Leon Meyer of near Mur dock and Mrs. Earl Puis were Monday afternoon callers at the Dan Custard home . Mr. and Mrs. Lunis Massoth of Rapid City, S. D. have named their new baby daughter, Ther esa Gay. Frank Puis came home Friday and sang at the funeral services for Fred Hopp and returned to Lincoln Saturday morning. Mrs. Larry West and Mrs Forrest Engelkemeier attended the state 4-H leaders training in Lincoln Thursday through Sat urday. Miss Janet Wright, daughter of Mr. and Mrs p t. w-iv, was one of the four Wesleyan I students and two Doane college students, who were on the TV Program with Senator Curtis1 at 12:30 Sunday on Channel 10 I The six Nebraska students whoi have been studying government! at the National University in Washington, D. C. this semester : will leave Friday for home and will return to their respective i college classes Monday of next week. ; The Building Committee of the ! Methodist church met Jan 20 with a view to reactivating its i functions. It has been a year now i since the church set in motion! us pieage campaign to solicit funds for the building of a much needed educational unit to its set-up. The' committee worked on some reorganization problems and planned to meet again early In March to set its second vear program in motion. John H. Rohrdanz, 84, died in Lincoln Monday after an extend ed illness. Funeral servcies at the Immanuel Lutheran church at Louisville were Friday at 2 p.m. Mr. Rohrdanz was the father of Mrs. Waldo Minford of Lincoln and Herbert Rhordanz of Weeping Water, and a brother of William Rhordanz of South Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Robeck left the past week to spend sev eral weeks in Brownsville, Tex-! as. They also plan to spend some ' , turning home. Mrs. August Funke entered the Methodist hospital in Omaha. She is undergoing treatment and is reported to be improving. Mr. and Mrs. George Vervae- cke and son were Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Vervaecke in South Bend. County Extension Club The Country Extension club met at the home of Mrs. Robert Heil on January 18. Seven mem bers answered roll call with the Rent Laugh I've Had Lately. We sang several songs. After the business meeting it was announc ed the special lesson on Glass Etching would be Feb. 23-26 at Weeping Water. Mrs. Heil told us of her tour through Betty Crocker's kitchen while in Min neapolis. Helen Barkhurst and Laura Stohlmann presented the lesson on Storage. Mrs. Heil served lunch. Our next meeting will be with Helen Barkhurst Feb. 19. Center Extension Club We met at the home of Mrs. Abstracts of Title "Title Insurance" THOMAS WALLINC CO. A lunch was served by Mrs. Puis. Next meeting will be held at the Parish Hall at 7 p.m., Feb. 18 to be our family night. The March meeting will also be held at the Parish Hall March 10 with Mrs. L. Herbert Stander as our hostess. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Vaughn and family were Friday over night guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Oestmann and family in Sabetha, Kansas. They were business visitors at Hum boldt Saturday and on their way home called at the Bill Boeck home near Johnson. Herman Roeber returned to his home Sunday evening after spending a week at the home of his daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Beck. Sunday afternoon callers to see him at the Beck home were Mr. and Mrs. George Schmader of Weep ing Water.
