The couple plan a mkl-autumn wedding. Mrs. F. M. Boker and child ren of, Denver have been visit ing for the past two weeks at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Koop. Mr. Bok er, who has been on two weeks active duty iu Puerto Rico, will arrive on Saturday evening and they will return to their home In Denver on Sunday. Mrs. Ivan Thomas entered the Clarkson Hospital in Omaha Wednesday for observation. Charles Hennings celebrated his 80th birthday Wednesday of last week., He is In good, health and says he feels fine. Awards were made to the fol lowing Cubs: Lynn Reed, Den nis Hennings, Dean Hlavac, Jack Faublon, David Inman, Danny Ault, Lee Forrest, Mark Saltmarsh, Scott McGrew, Way ne Wagoner, Gary Doran, Paul Smith, and Russell Gaebel. December's plans are for all Dens to meet at 7 p.m. Decem ber 18th at the Methodist church to go carolling. Upon return to the church, a gift exchange and treats with the parents are to follow. Boys bring a boys pres ent and girls a girls gift not to exceed the cost of 29 cents each. Swimming at Jewish Commun ity Center in Omaha is from 6-7 p.m. Dec. 18. Those attending are to meet at Whaley's drug store promptly at 5 p.m. A cost of $1 per Cub or family is charg ed. Friendly Fourteen Club The Friendly Fourteen club met at the home of Mrs. Ruth Woolhiser in Omaha Thursday night. Redden 197 and 518. VFW Here Plans for Pin Tourney Last Wednesday evening at the V.F.W. Club rooms the local Post Committee for the V.F.W. bowling tournament met. This committee consists of Co-chairman Harry Porter and Al Mc Clanahan, Harold Austin, Wayne Dasher, Joe Gradoville. Al McClanahan was voted tournament secretary. The committtee expects an at tendance from 60 to 70 teams from the state of Nebraska. This will bring 300-350 bowlers to the city. The dates are Feb. 13-14; 19 20; 28-29; with option for March 5-6. The past 2 years the champion has been the Cczad Post. The Competition is keen as some of the best bowlers in the state will enter. Louisville Chamber Sets Xmas Party LOUISVILLE (Special) This year, the local Chamber of Com merce and business places are again planning to have a Christ mas party at the City Hall Dec. 19. Eagle Man Hurt In Accident while Tending Corn Dryer EAGLE (Special) Marlon Wulf had the misfortune to suf fer broken bones in a foot in jury Tuesday. He was taken to the Lincoln General Hospital via ambulance. The accident happened, while he was tending his corn-dryer. He was immediately assisted by Morris Mueuchau and Mel vln Adams, elevator employees, when they heard him needing help, or otherwise a more ser ious injury would have resulted. He will be at the hospital sev eral days. A cast was put on his foot and leg, and later he will need more skin and bone surg ery. Steve Davis Attends Farm Managers Meet At Chicago Steve Davis, local farm man ager, has returned from Chica go where he attended the meet ing of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Ap praisers, held at the LaSalle hotel. The meeting was very largely attended from all of the farm ing section of the west and brought many eminent speak ers on farm problems. Enroute, the Icebreaker's first stop will be Dec. 7 in the Canal Zone for a two-day lay over. She will then proceed to Port Lyttelton. N. Z.. arrvinig New Year's Eve. On Jan 4, the Eastwind will leave Lyttelton and arrive at 'her base of oper ations, Hallett Station in the Ross Sea by Jan. 15, where she will officially report to the Naval Support Forces of Antarctica. Assisting two Navy icebreak ers, the Eastwind will escort supply ships, perform Ice recon naissance and gather hydrograp hic information before her anti cipated completion of Antarctic operations the end of February.
