Rikli drove to Enid, Oklahoma to spend Thanksgiving with relatives there. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Blum and sons of Lincoln were Sun- ! day afternoon callers at the Mri. Wilson How Mrs. Verl Livers of South Bend was with Mrs. Edith Braun for supper Monday evening. Mrs. Braun and Mrs. Livers were friends when the Braun's lived at South Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Eul Hart of Tovlna, Texas and Mrs. B. P. Elliott of Tucson. Ariz, came last Wednesday and Mrs. Ben Renll of Minneapolis, Minnesota came Saturday to be with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ayers. Mr. Ayers Is at the Bryan Memorial Hospital having had surgery during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Ayers,- Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Leaver and Mrs. Frank Hempke of Murdock also spend time with their father at the hospital. The family have been taking turns staying at the hospital through the nights. Mrs. Ross Russel and son of Chattanooga, Term, came Mon day to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Muenchau and left for Peru, Nebraska to visit her husbands parents, Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Muenchau of Eagle were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Muenchau and Mrs. Ross Rus sel, Sunday, driving her to Peru in the afternoon, where she will go by bus to her home. Mrs. Joe Vickers and Mr3. Ellis Mickle were hostess for the Mother's and Daughter's Council Friday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Vickers. Mrs. Har old Nickel and daughter, Mrs. James Johnson of Lincoln gave the lesson on Christmas Trims and Wraps. Mrs. Alice Vernoy visited at the home of her mother. Mrs. Earl Fairfield and Leona Fischer last Sunday. A meeting was held at the School Gym at Alvo Thursday evening for all those interested in the merger of the Murdock Junior and Senior High and Alvo Junior and Senior High with the Elmwood Junior and Senior High in a new building to be placed two miles north of the town of Elmwood. Mr. Olson from the State Board of Education was the speaker. The Dickmey er children had been staying with Grandpa and Grandma Mills for a week. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gustin left Friday for Kansas to spend the winter. Election of officers will take place. Doughnuts and coffee will De served. Funeral of Charles L. Ayres at- Alvo Funeral services for Charles L. Ayres, 78, retired farmer the Alvo community, was held Wednesday at 2:30 at the Meth odist church in Alvo. Mr. Ayres, native of Elk City, Kan., died Monday at his home. Burial was at the Alvo cemetery. Survivors are his wife; son, Everett, Alvo; daughters, Mrs. Frank Hemke, Murdock; Mrs. Ernest Leaver, Alvo; Mrs. Ben Renli, Minneapolis; Mrs. Euell Hart, Bovina, Tex.; Mrs. B. P. Elliott, Tucson, Ariz; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The Air Force claims the loss of four mice in space was really a scientific triumph.
