They are glad to move south to escape the cold weather. Mrs. H. C. Warren sends word back to her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lesan that she had a mix ed up trip going home after she had left Louisvlle. Due to bad weather she could not go back by plane as she had intended so went by train. She is moving this month from Marcellus. New York to Connecticut where her husband will be employed. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hon went to Omaha Sunday afternoon and visited the sick people who are in the hospitals in Omaha. In the evening they were supper guests at the home of their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Woodman and daughter, In Omaha. Barbara Jewell Bourelle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jule Bourelle of Louisville, was Initi ated into Phi Upsilon Omicron, a Home Economics honorary professional sorority Nov. 15. Members are chosen from the Juniors and Seniors on the basis of scholarship, personality and activities. 'Barbara is a Junior at the University of Nebraska, majoring In Foods and Nutri tion. Mr. and Mrs. Gall Wirth and family of Denver, Colo., arrived Wednesday to spend a few days visiting relatives and friends. They stayed at the William Wlrth home. They returned home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Thomas left Wednesday by train to St. Louis, Mo., where they were met by their daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Holmer and were taken to their home in Collinsville, Illinois. Mr. Holmer has a flying field and teaches flying. They enjoyed an air plane ride over the city of St. Louis and had a nice visit. They returned home Monday. Bert Alfrey Jr. of Grand Is land has been named head of the teachers of District IV for the coming year. Bert is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Alfrey, Sr., of Louisville and has been teaohing and coaching In Grand Island for several years. Sunday dinner guests at the Lawrence Smith, Sr., home in Millard were Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Smith, Jr., and fam ily of Murdock, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith and family of Louisville, and Mr. ( and Mrs. Richard Miller of Omaha. Michael. Lau of Manley cele brated his 6th birthday at a party at the home of his parents Thursday. His guests wire his classmates, Cheryl Bergmann, Steven Massoth, Bobby Mocken haupt, Eddie Schroeder, Mich ael Isaac, Curt Custard and Donnie Erhart. The children played games and watched Michael open his presents. His mother, Mrs. Raymond Lau and his sliter, Sue Ann, served cake and Ice cream. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ward left Thursday morning to visit over night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Ward at Oconto, Nebr. On Friday they accompa nied the C. E. Ward's to visit another brother, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Ward on a ranch near Hemlngford, Nebr. They re turned home Sunday. Jack got a deer that hog dressed 119 pounds and Gerald Embury got one that hog dressed 139 pounds.
