Mrs. - Walter Wunderlich re turned from South Fork, Colo, after spending several months at their cabin at Masonic Park. Mrs. Sidney Gordon of Omaha was her guest and they returned together. Walter Wunderlich spent several dyas at the cabin. Mr. Herman Schultz and son, Robert, Yuba City, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Bailer, Neil and Dickie went to Wichita, Kansas Friday to spend the La bur Day week end with Jimmy Bailer. They returned Tuesday. Nell Bailer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Bailer, left Sept ember, 14 for Omaha where he will attend the Radio Engineer ing Institute. Mrs. Richard Stone presented the lesson "At Home At The Wheel" Wednefify afternoon when the Nehawka Extension club met with Mrs. Harvey Bai ler. Mrs. Duane Everrett was appointed to represent the club when Mrs. Helen Firedli meets with a commute to make plans to decide on an adult project for the community. The next meeting will be with Mrs. Arth ur Johnson on October 7. Legion Auyiliary A membership tea Tuesday afternoon marked the drive for members for the Ameriran Leg ion Auriliary. The meeting was held at the auditorium. Mrs. El mer Fitch presided. One dozen rag rugs, made at the soldiers and sailors home at Grand Is land, were sold by the members. Members voted to contribute $15 to the Kellogg educational center in Lincoln. Mrs. Martin Ross, program chairman, told the. story of the Auxiliary Emblem. Hostesses were Mmes. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Philpot are enjoying a motor trip through Alabama and Georgia, visiting various beauty spots in the deep South. Jack Haljstrom, principal of Mt. View elementary school of Omaha, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hallstrom of Avoca, has been elected as president of the Omaha area chapter of Peru State Alumni Association. Per uvians from Omaha, Council Bluffs and Plattsmouth were at the meeting held at Riverview Park in Omaha. Kenosha Extension Plans Benefit for Murray Fire Dept. Kenosha Extension Club held its first fall meeting Sept. 16 at the home of Mrs. Robert Snod grass with Mrs. Ralph Gibson as co-hostess. Twelve members answered roll call by telling the "Type of Music I Like Best." Club creed was read in unison and Mrs. Don Mrasek gave devotionals"." One visitor, Mrs. Alvin Meising. er as well as seven children were present. Reports on the Federated Wo men's Club meeting and the an nual Home Extension Meeting which she attended were given by the president, Mrs. Raymond Cundall. She also announced the annual convention of Cass Coun ty Federated Women's Clubs to be held Oct. 1 at the Congrega tional Church in Weeping Wa ter. Report was given on letters to TV stations one of the projects for the year. Letters are to be given to chairman Mrs. Ellen Morris at the next club meet ing. Officers elected for the com ing year are Mrs. John Toman, president; Mrs. Don Mrasek, vice president; Mrs. Greeley Beil, secretary - treasurer; Mrs. Ed Morris, reporter; Mrs. For ert Snodggrass. A lesson on the Life of Irving Berlin was given by Mrs. Rob ert Snodgrass. A report on the safety con test was given by safeiy chair man Mrs. John Toman. The club entered both the Cass Coun ty Contest and KFAB Safety. Campaign. The safety drive was held in the summer months when the club does not meet. Each member surveyed her own family and home for accident and fire hazards. Committees were formed to work on various phases such as Home Accidents, Fire, Road and Driving Haz ards Tractor and Farm Imple ment Accidents, Child Safety and Teenage Accidents. Pamphlets from the National Safety Council of Chicago were distributed in the community. A study of community road hazards was made, inspection of bridges, blind corners, farm County Commissioners and road superintendent. ' Three safety films were shown at the home of .safety chairman Mrs. Toman for ladies and chil dren of the community. Each committee made leaves for a scrap bock which was en tered in the Cass. County Ex tension Safety Contest, to be sent to the KFAB Contest. We voted to end the safety drive by sponsoring a benefit program, plate lunch and auc tion at Lewiston Community Cen ter Oct. 7, proceeds to go to the Murray Fire Dept. Mrs. Forest Beil was made program chairman'for the bene fit and has chosen her commit tees. Next regular meeting will be Oct. 21. with Mrs. Don Mrasek with Mrs. Ed Morris co-hostess. Lunch was served by Mrs. Gibson and Mrs. Snodgras. TOUCH Mrs. Stella Coffelt la back from a stay of more than three weeks in Colorado. She visited her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne H. Coffelt and dau ghter Linda of Denver, brother Glenn Lewis and family of Den ver and sister Mrs. Henry La Moy at Grand Junction, Colo. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Rozell and girls, Mrs. Leota Porter, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Bond, Ka thy, Kenny and Mr. and Mrs. Verner Hild, all of Plattsmouth, were Friday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Hild cele brating birthdays of Mrs. Le ota Porter, Lyle Hild and Ken ny Bond. The evening was spent visiting and later in the evening home make ice cream and cake were served. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kelley of South Bend spent Sunday eve ning with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Thiele of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Wildon Switzer of Nehawka spent Saturday eve ning in Plattsmouth with old friends. Margo Saillors who has been with her sister In Indianapolis has been released from the hos pital, and as soon as her doctor will permit her to travel she will return to Plattsmouth. Mrs. Carl Sell has entered the Methodist Hospital and was to have surgery this morning. She is in Room 205. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Worthan and daughters, former Platts mouth residents, have moved to 626 SW 142nd, Seattle 66, Wash, and will live there while their new home which they are build ing is completed. They plan to move into the new home in Jan uary. Mr. and Mrs Ray Culley of Concordia, Kan., were recent visitors with their aunt, Mrs. Sybil Hetrick of this city. Mrs. Robert Williams enter ed the hospital Sunday and is undergoing observation today. far. and Mrs. Dale Harms and Sharon were in Omaha Sunday calling at the St. Catherine's Hos pital to visit with Mrs. Dale Ab raham and baby boy. Mrs. Ab raham is a sister of Mr. Harms. Later they called on Mr. and Mrs. James Terryberry. Mrs. Terryberry is recuperating from recent back sugery and is get ting along fine. Mrs. Carl Chriswisser of Cal ifornia ' has been here visiting with her mother, Mrs. E. J. Ger rie, other relatives and friends. Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hild drove her to Aurora to vis it with Mr. and Mrs. Orville Nielsen. Wayne "Bud" Lewis accom panied army buddies to Omaha from their station at Fort Leo nard Wood. Bud visited over the weekend here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Lewis at Mynard. Mrs. Tom Brouhard Jr. was pleasantly surprised last Fri day afternoon when 10 neighbor ladies dropped in to wish her a happy birthday by presenting her with cards and handger chiefs. They served gelatin, cake and coffee. Mr. and Mrs. Nick Gilliam, who have been vacationing in Colorado returned home Sun day to take up the daily grind. Carl Hall of Fullerton, Calif., is here to enjoy a visit at the John Alwin and George M. Hall home. This is his first visit back to the old home in fifteen years. George M. Graves of Peru was in the city Sunday to visit with his uncle, J. H. Graves and with his brother, Louis and family of Omaha. John Fauquet who was one of the leading musicians in the Plattsmouth high school for several years, is now a member of the University of Nebraska band. He had the pleasure Sat urday of being in the band that saluted Dana Bible, Fred Dawson and Col. "Biff" Jones former Cornhusker Coaches, at the Nebraska-Texas football game.
