Reed, 66, native of Cass county, died at his home in Omaha Friday. Mr. Reed was son of Byron and Emma Reed, long time residents of this coun ty. Walter was born n the vici nity of Manley, the family later moving to the east portion of the county where he spent his younger years. He has been liv ing in Omaha at 2850 Fowler Ave. He ' is survived by his wife, Sarah, one son, Marvin, Oma ha; three sisters, Mrs. Florence Standish, Almena, Kan.; Mrs. Aura Tigner, Plattsmouth; Mrs. Edith Meisinger, Murray; five brothers, C. N., Murray; Russell, Omaha, Ralph, Ashland; Frank Spokane, Wash.; Dewey and William, Plat tsmouth; two grandchildren; one great grand son. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the John A. Gentleman Mortuary, Omaha. Interment was at Oak- hill cemetery in this city. ASHLAND Mrs. Ivan Armstrong Mr.' and Mrs. Dwight Beetl son spent an evening with Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Paasch. Mer line spent a week at the Don Smith home. Mrs. Harold Shaw came Fri day for a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Armstrong and her little sons Ivan and Lloyal who spent a month at the Armstrong home. The Shaw family moved from Key West. Fla., to Jonesboror, Ark. Mr. Shaw recently received his dis charge from the Navy after 25 years service. Mdlody, Marlece, Michele and Genie Grimm spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Eli Gaudreault while their parents. Mr. and "Mrs. Gene Grimm were in Minnesota. Mr. and Mrs. Ol iver Wilson and family of Om aha, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Wil son and Mr. and Mrs. Malvin Wiles and Terry spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Gaudreault. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Parrott visited Mrs. Parrott's brother, Ed Schuelke and daughter, Mrs. Glen Packer near Eagle. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Moore and Dewey W. took birthday cake to the Fred Rueter home in AIvo to help Floyd Rueter celebrate his birthday. Mrs. Moore and Mrs. Rueter called on Mr. and Mrs. Dan Rueter in Alvo. Mrs. Clarence Peterson re -cently purchased the Charles Wagner home in Ashland and moved there. The Rev. and Mrs. Don Web ster and 6on were Tuesday eve ning callers at the Robert Ma ack home. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Armstrong and Mrs. Harold Shaw and sons called on' Mr. and Mrs. Harold Strode and family in Lincoln. The Armstrongs and their gu ests called at the Luther Wag ner home the next day. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Ueberr hein and Lyle spent an evening at the Herbert Bundy home east of the Platte. They also vis ited Mr. and Mrs. John Fox, .Mrs. Carl Kupke spent a day with her sister, Mrs. Anna Lau, in Plattsmouth. Joseph P. Sikora Dies Friday After 7 Years Illness Joseph Peter Sikora, 69, re sident of Plattsmouth for the past thirty-six years, died Fri day, August 21 at the Ebeler Nursing Home at Elmwocd. He has been ill for the pat seven years. Mr. Sikora was born March 10, 1890 in Poland and spent his childhood in the land of his birth, later coming to the United States where he has since re sided. He was married May 2, 1914 at Chicago to Mhs Helen Babisz. They moved to Plattsmouth thirty-six years ago and where they have since made their home. Surviving are the wife, Helen, Plattsmouth; five children, Leo, Omaha; Walter, . Chicago; Mrs. Helen Long, Plattsmouth; Leo nard, Omaha; Joseph H., Platts mouth; eleven grandchildren; one niece, Jennie Tatar, New York. Mr. Sikora was for many years engaged as an upholster with the Burlington in Plattsmouth until his retirement. He was a man highly respected by those who had the pleasure of his ac quaintance and who he met in his daily life. Funeral services were held to day (Monday) at 9 o'clock at St. John the Baptist church, of which he had been a devout member, through the years. Rt. Rv. Msgr. Joseph Przudzik cele brated the mass. Burial was at the Holy Sepu lchre cemetery. Visiting hours were Sunday afternoon and evening at the chapel of the Sattler Funeral home. Recitation of the Rosary was at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Sattler chapel. Fred A. Lockman Funeral at Otoe Church Today Fred A. Lockman, 54, one of the leading figures in the Otoe community, died at his home in that place Thursday as the re sult of a heart condition. He was first taken sick February 11, 1959 and has been in failing health since that time. He was born May 20, 1905, son of Dick and Sophia Lockman and has spent his lifetime in Otoe and was very prominent in his home community and south ern Cass county. He was married October 29, 1930 at Otoe to Dorothy Hillman, who survives his death. Other survivors are: daughter, Mrs. Delores Lingle, Avoca; one grandchild, Steven Allen, two sisters, Mrs. Lena Siemers, Sid ney, Neb.; Mrs". Rebecca Specht, South Bend, Ind. He was clerk of the town board for 25 years and has operated the Roettger store for the past thirty-four years, purchasing and operating it by himself for the past eleven years. Mr. Lockman was a member of the Masonic order belonging to William E. Hill lodge No. 307. He was also a member of St. John's Lutheran church in Otoe. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at St. John's Lutheran church. Dr. R. M. Sauberzweig, DD, officating. Burial was at Union cemetery east of Otoe with Kenneth Gor ton, Herman Riekers, Raymond Roettger, Harry Ross, Allen Paap, Arnold Teten, serving as casket bearers. Visiting hours were held here at the Caldwell-Linder chapel Sunday afternoon and evening. Caldwell-Linder funerat home in charge of arangements. Death of Mrs. Sarah Faler of Nebr. City Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Faler, 80, mother of Earl Faler of this city, died Thursday in Nebraska City after a lengthly illness. She was born in Missouri on March 8, 1879. She moved to Brock in 1916 and to Nebraska City in 1919. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. David Scott. She married W. R. Faler in 1897. Surviving are the hucband and following children: Edward C. Faler, Westminster, Calif.; Earl Faler, Plattsmouth; Mrs. Mattie Laman and Mrs. Elol.se Coatney, both of Nebraska City; two brothers, George Scott of Wind sor, Mo. and Ed Scott of Ed mondson, Mo. John Royal, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Royal, has a new position at Dell City, Tex. He is now with the Dell Valley Re view, the local newspaper. Mr. Chastain, the publisher, plans to send John to Las Cruces, N.M., to learn to run an offset print ing press. John is also the offic ial ham radio operator of Dell City.
