V- Mrs. Ronald The sanctuary of the Murray Christian Church was decorated with large bouquets of white gladiolus and blue carnations for the wedding of Miss Nancy Jeanilc Lancaster of Murray and Mr. Ronald Lee Furse of Plattsmouth. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Lancaster and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald R. Furse. 'I he? Reverend Victor O. Long sleeves tapered to a deep bridal point "over the w rist. The very bouffant skirt was worn over hoops and featured tiered cry stal pleating and lace cut-away skirt extending into a full cha pel length train. Her veil of im ported English illusion was el bow length and held by a Queen's crown of pearls. Also at tending the bride were Mrs. Ed ward Egenberger, Miss Mary Sullivan, and Miss Sharon Harms. Their dresses wre pat terned after the matron of hon or and were of various shades of blue with matching brimmed hats. The bride's attendants each carried a colonial bouquet of Frenched white carnations with blue centers. Diane Worthan of Omaha was ringbearer, and flower girl was Deborah Snodgrass of Platts mouth. Mr. Brent Chambers of Fort Scott, Kans., was best man, and ushering were Morris Moyer of Madison, Ron Wachter of Bro ken Bow, Mjjke Kjome of Decor; 'ah, la., Dgrrell Yenney and Larry Long of Plattsmouth. Following the wedding 'cere mony a reception was held at the Lion's Community Building in this city. Mrs. R. A. Noell, aunt of the bride, was hostess, assisted by Mrs Harold Rice and Mrs. D. L. Grove. Mrs. George Hobscheidt of Luvern, la., Mrs. Bert Worthan and Mrs. Howard Younker, cut the wedding cake; Mrs. Hubert Furse of Omaha served punch and Mrs. George Kjome of De corah, la., served coffee. Mrs. Havely Sayers and Mrs. Dan Hoschar of Murray presid ed at the guest book and Miss Dana Hoschar and Miss Betty Jo Worthan had charge of the gifts. The newlyweds are on a wedding trip to Seattle, Wash., and on their return will make their home at 1910 South 26th, Lincoln. The bride is a graduate of the Plattsmouth Schools and was employed as a secretary in Oma ha. The bridegroom is a Platts mouth graduate and will be a senior this fall at University of Nebraska where he is affiliated with Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He was employed this summer at the Dennison News, Denni son, la. Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Cuthrell of this city and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Dimmitroff of Omaha were at Macy Thursday to enjoy the , annual powwow of tire Winne- i bago Indians, one of the big tribal events of the year. They report a very fine presentation of the tribal dances and a very ; large attendance. ,702 Ave. B. Meeker Family Here From California Home Mr. and Mrs. Omer Meeker and children Allan and Christ ine of Santa Maria, Calif, have been here visiting with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Rich ter. ' ' Mrs. Meeker is the former Margaret Richter, and this was their first visit here in six years. Mr. Meeker attended school in Kent, Ohio this summer, and will return to his teaching posi tion this fall at Santa Maria. While here the family also visited with the Earl and Frank Mrasek families at Murray. Sunday a family picnic will be held at Murray. Hirz Family Visits In Denver Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hirz, Jon and Mary Jo were recent vaca tioners in Denver, Estes Park and the Black Hills. While in Denver they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Don Bell and son, and also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Walt Soennichsen. Upon their return Mr. Hirz fliade a business trip to Chicago, but is now home with the fam ily. Bridal Shower At Topliff Home Mrs. Loren Topliff and Miss Ann Winscot were hostesses at a bridal shower Friday evening at the Topliff home. The oc casion honored Miss Rosalyn Koubek, bride-to-be, with a mis cellaneous and personal show er. Miss Koubek will wed Mr. Dan Covert Aug. 27. Fifteen guests included Mrs. Frank Koubek, mother of the bride-to-be, and Mrs. LeRoy Covert, the prospective bride groom's mother. Games were played and pri zes were awarded to Mrs. John Blotzer, Jr., Mrs. Dennis Hirz, of this city and Mrs. Marvin Corbin of Omaha. Refreshments were served by the hostesses, following the opening of the beautiful gifts. Lulu Wolfe Is Hostess at Picnic The country home of Mrs. Lulu Wolfe was the scene of a family gathering Sunday. Every one came with well filled bas kets to help Mrs. Wolfe with the picnic which was held in her beautiful shady yard. Attending were Mrs. Dortha Shrader of Louisville and son Jack and Janice Koblar of Louis ville; Mr. and Mrs. Clem Con radt and family of Plattsmouth, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shrader of Weeping Water, Mr. and Mrs. Carrol Meyers and family of Avoca and Georgia Creamer of Plattsmouth. Mr. and Mrs. Don Rhoden and Rodney from Glenwood, la., came after dinner. The afternoon was spent visit ing, all having an enjoyable time.- Furse Family Here To Attend Wedding The Lancaster-Furse wedding Saturday evening at Murray brought together a large group of one of the best known print ing families of the state to see their nephew and cousin, Ron ald Lee Furse and Miss Nancy Lancaster united. In V r Mrs. Dean Biles Lid dick-Biles Wedding Rites Sunday, First Methodist Church Miss Patricia Liddick, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. LaVern Lid dick, became the bride of Mr. Dean Biles in the presence of 200 guests Aug. 23 at the First Methodist Church, Plattsmouth. The bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Frank Biles. The Reverend Charles Burt, pastor of Cedar Hill Methodist Church, Greenwood, officiated before the altar which was de corated with vases of white hyd rangeas for the occasion. Mrs. J. Howard Davis was or ganist and Mrs. Wendell John son sang "Because" and "The Wedding Prayer." Aubyn and Cheryl Schneider lighted the tapers for the eight o'clock ceremony. .The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a gown of antique taffeta and lace. Lace roses accented by sequins fram ed the neckline of the smoothly molded bodice which featured long lace sleeves tapering to bri dal points at the wrists. The deep pointed bodice continued into the bouffant skirt above a deep flounce of lace falling to floor length in front and cas cading into a wide chapel train in the back. A crown of seed pearls and iridescent sequins held the shoulder length illus ion veil. She carried a cascade bouquet of white roses. Miss Darlene Jacobs was maid of honor, Miss Jean Marler was "Welcome Alaska" Is Theme For Garden Club Flower Show Plattsmouth Federated Gar den Club chose the theme "Wel come Alaska" for their KKK Flower Show when they met on Monday in the Blue Flame Room of the Gas Company. President Mrs. Margery Cole opened the meeting with "The Lord's Prayer!' and read a po em, "I Know Who Makes the Daisies." ' At the business session, com mittees were appointed by the chairman, Mrs. Clarence Ake son and Mrs. Cole, and they pre sented the flower show sched ule. Mrs. Keller and Mrs. Linder informed the group qf the Lap idus Room on North 6th being available for staging the show. Mrs. Rex Young, 2319 North 65th Ave., Omaha, with an as sistant has been engaged to judge the erhibits, Sept. 24 at 11:30 a.m. The public wishing to exhibit are asked to note the date and time. Mrs. Cole read directions on Family Returns From Vacation Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Bond. Kathy and Kenny have return ed rrom a weeks vacation. They visited Mr. and Mrs. Vir eil Hammons. Harold and Su san in Fair Play, Mo. The two families drove to Bennett Springs and saw the fish hatchery and trout streams. They also saw Bagnell Dam and ' tne LaRe of The Ozarks. j After leaving Missouri, the Bonds visited Mr. and Mrs. Walt ' Bond, Dena and Anita in Enid, i Okla. All wore a like blue flowered dresses, bal lerina length, with full gathered skirt arid cumberbund, and each carried a cascade bouquet of white gladiolas. The - bride's gown, her going away dress and the attendants dresses were made by her moth er. , ' Mr. Norman Henry was best man and groomsmen were Larry Johnson and Mike Liddick. Alan Wiles, Duane Whelan, Roger Johnson and Larry Henry ush ered. Debbie Porter was flower girl and David Porter ringbearer. A reception in the church par lors followed the wedding cere mony. Mrs. Cecil McKnight pour ed coffee; Mrs. Harry Porter made and cut the cake. Myrna and Deanna Schneider served punch. Mrs. Harlan Horswill was seat ed at the guest book and Car lisa Barnard helped with the gifts. For her going-away costume, the bride was attired in a beige sheath dress with brown acces sories. The couple graduated from the Plattsmouth Schools. He at tended Omaha University for two years and is in business with his father in this city. how to select and prepare ex hibits. The club will meet Sept. 14 with Mrs. Frank Linder to com plete final plans for the show. Also scheduled on the program will be "Lawn Problems." Ques tions will be answered by Mrs. Hetrick. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Linder, Mrs. Cole and Mrs. Ed Berlett. Prizes were drawn by Miss Helen Hunter and Mrs. Sybi'. L. W. Egenberger, served from a lace covered table adorned by garden flowers arranged by Mrs. Cole. The public desiring informa tion about the flower show are asked to contact Mrs. Clarence Akeson or Mrs. Margery Cole. Since membership is small in the club, any volunteer assis tance in staging the show would be greatly appreciated, the club says. Camp Fire News The O'ki'hi Camps Fire group with their leader and assistant leader went to Camp Fire Head quarters in Omaha to do three hours of service work to full fill one requirement in their next rank. Mrs. Charles Newton is the for mer Janis Arnold. The Plattsmouth couple en joyed trips to the Gulf of Mex ico, Tampa, Daytona Beach and St. Augustine. At Tallahassee, they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Sampley and daughter, Julie Ann. Mrs. Sampley is the former Mildred Ann Meisinger of Plattsmouth. Enroute home the Newtons took in the sites at Washington, D. C, ariving home Sunday morning after a two weeks absence. Schneiders Hosts At Bar-B-Q Picnic Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Schnei der entertained the Board of Dir ectors of the Plattsmouth Jun ior Chamber of pommerce and the Mrs. Jaycees at a Bar-B-Q and Picnic at their home in Valley View Friday evening. Special guests of the evening were State JC President, "Mike" Milder and his wife from Oma ha and State VP "Bus" Wymore and Mrs. Wymore from Nebras ka City. The evening was spent getting better acquainted with one another as well as" enjoying a supper served by the host and hostess. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Don Born, local chapter, president, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Warga, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Aim, Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Free burg, and Mr. and Mrs. Grant Coolbaugh. Wayne Schneider is Past Pre sident and State Director of the local JC chapter and his wife, Jean, is president of the Mrs. Jaycees. Weekend Visitors At Toman Home Mr. and Mrs. John N. Hilger son who attended Greeley State College this summer were guests the past weekend of her par ents Mr. and Mrs. John Toman. Mrs. Hilgerson was Margaret To man before her marriage in June. Also at the Toman home were the Misses Betty Smith, Carol Stone and Jeanne Toman. The Hilgerson couple will make their home at Red Oak, la. where they will teach in the Corning and Coburg Schools. Ludwick, August 16 between three and five in the afternoon and seven thirty and nine-thirty in the evening. In the receiving iMie were Mrs.. Hobson, Lt. and Mrs. Ludwick aid the bride-groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene L. Ludwick. A color scheme of blue and white, complimenting the bride's gown, was carried out in the erving table.
