Following is a letter from the fund committee to the Society: Historical Society Alvin McReynolds, pres. Plattsmouth, Neb. Dear Mr. McReynolds: As custodians of a fund which was raised among former pupils of Miss Anna Heisel, we take great pleasure in donating to the Cass County Historical Soc iety the balance remaining in this fund, namely, $140.17, check for which is enclosed. It is our desire that this mon ey be used in some way as a memorial to the Heisel family. Conrad Heisel was a miller, a large and important business for that era. We are told by those who knew Mr. Heisel that he did a great deal for this com munity. His moral force and support was a big factor in his day when this area was devel oping into a community of peo ple, always at hand to help the worthy cause and always found on "the right side." We wish this tribute to the Heisel family to be in keeping with the object of the Museum, namely, to preserve for poster ity the heritage of the past, and we are confident that among the records or in possession of friends, will be found somethinc; tangible evidencing the influ ence this fine family contribut ed to the community. (The letter was signed: Com mittee for friends of Anna Hei sel, by Barbara Gering, Mat hilda Pein).
