Attend Reunion of 1928-29 Classes In the large number of the alumni to attend the reunion of the classes of 1928 - 29 Satur day evening were Mr. and Mrs. Russell Denny of Chicago and Mrs. Winifred Malley of Gales burg, 111. These ladles were formerly Isabel and Winifred Shea, dau ghters of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Shea, Sr., born here and educated In the local schools. Since their marriage they have resided In Illinois. They also visited their sister-in-law, Mrs. Nellie Shea while here. A Classified Ad In The Journal costs as little as 50 cents FATHER'S DAY CIFTS Plattsmouth's Finest Selections Smith's Men's Wear Missionaries Here to Conduct Bible School Two summer missionaries of the Home Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention are assisting In the Vacation Bible School held by the Platts mouth Baptist Mission. They are Miss Eva League from North Carolina and Miss Cleta Beth Jordan from Texas. These Missionaries are a part of some 500 summer missionar ies who spent summer vacation in pioneer Mission areas con ducting Bible School and taking part in other activities which may be needed. The pair have been in Wahoo for the past week and plan to return there following this weelc to conduct a Bible School. From Wahoo they will go to Lincoln for a time and proceed to Grand Island. Bible School here now in its second week has 35 children and six workers enrolled. Phone 61 1 1 Methodist Youth Fellowship Hold Installation New officers of the Methodist Youth Fellowship were installed at the regular worship service at the First Methodist church Sun day morning, by the pastor, the Rev. A. L. Embree. Miss Suzanne Murdock was in stalled as president; Shirley Gunsolley as vice president; Tim Fischer as secretary; and Mar lene Johnson as treasurer. Also ln:talled were the chair men of the various program areas: Mary Wohlfarth, Chris tian Faith, Ruth Mann, Chris tian Citizenship; Sam Pierce, Christian Fellowship; Pat Smock. Christian Witness; and Teddy Mann, Christian Outreach. Dar lene Johnson was installed as pianist. Meetings during the summer will be held on Wednesday nights. All youth are welcome. Historical Committees Meet Planning and Finance Com mittees of the Cass County His torical Society met at the home of Miss Grace Livingston June 8. Plans were made for the coun ty fund raising canvass to be gin In mid-June, looking toward realization of the goal for be ginning erection of the Cass County Historical Museum. The committee has the pro mise of completion of the build ing within 9 days after contract has been let. It is hoped the building can be ready for in spection by King Korn Karnlval Days. The response and interest shown for the museum are mounting and the committees are well pleased with the pro gress, the society says. Letters have been received from var los groups over the nation er pressing interest In preservation and marking of historical sites The next general meeting of the society will be a covered dish luncheon at Steinhart Park Nebraska City at noon June 24 The public is invited. A. Fricker, Ashland banker. Bobby Keefer son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Keefer took a bus trip to Horton, Kans., where they visited with his grandpar ents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Massey. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Morris and Mrs. L. J. Stark of Goff, Kans., visited at the homes of Philip, Gerold and August Keil families Sunday, and all were luncheon guests at the August Keil home. Also present were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wehrbein. Mrs. Ray Creamer of Mur ray is recuperating at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Hirz, following surgery at Clark son Hospital. He will make his headquarters at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, Calif., and will be on business at Warner Brothers Studios at Burbank. While in the West he plans calling some of his Plattsmouth friends now located on the west coast. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kirchhoff of Columbus were in the city over the weekend visiting with Mrs. A. H. E.ngelkemeier and family. William Landis has been re leased from St. Joseph Hospital In Omaha where he underwent an emergency appendectomy last Tuesday. He will recuperate at home. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gansemer of the Nehawka community were in the city Friday to look after busne:s affairs and called at the Journal to renew their subscription. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Keil with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Aylor and son, Allan, departed Thursday to Al ma to enjoy a short vacation in fishing at the Harlan dam. Here for the weekend and to attend the 1929 class reunion was Mrs. Mary Ellen Davis of Wayne. Accompanying her home Sun day was her niece, Mary Ann Dingman. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Lawton and family of Omaha were in the city Saturday evening to attend the 1928-29 class reunion. The couple's family stayed at the Rex Young home, Mr. Young is an uncle of Mr. Lawton. Mary Schuetz, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Herb Schuetz, accom panied Mrs. George Miller by bus to spend the summer mon ths in California. Mr. and Mrs. John Wichman of Lincoln were here Friday to visit relatives and friends for a short time. Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Smock and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Smock and family attended open house of Viaduct Lanes in Council Bluffs, la., Sunday Owners of the bowling lanes are Mr. and Mrs. Bill Henricksen will known former Plattsmouth resident. Debbie Woster, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clem Woster, is progressing nicely at Childrens' Memorial Hospital in Omaha. She recently underwent bone surgery, and is expected home later this week. Mr. and Mrs. Milo Farney of Littleton, Colo., were here at the weekend to visit with their dau ghter and family and also to at tend high school class reunion. Mrs. Farney is the former Helen Byers. Mr. and Mrs Lester Spangler were given a very pleasant treat Thursday evening in a telephone call from their son, Eugene Spangler of Portland, Ore., an nouncing the birth of a son at their home. The young man has been names Scott Allan. Mr. and Mrs. George James left Tuesday morning for their home in Encinitas, Calif. They have been visiting at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Rolland Aldrich and other children at Nebraska City. Mrs. L. W. Egenberger and Mrs. Henry Herold were in Oma ha Thursday to take Mrs. Matt hew Herold to her plane for flight home. Clarence Woods an employee of a construction firm of Oma ha which is working at Offutt Air Force Base had the misfor tune of breaking his right foot while at work. He is a patient at an Omaha hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Sparr of Kansas City, Mo. and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kepler of Avoca were Saturday night guests of Mr. and Mrs. Art Reimer. Mrs. Don Wall accompanied Margo Sailors to Rockport, Mo., today on business. Many Plattsmouth people at tended the wedding Saturday evening at the Dundee Presby terian Church in Omaha of Dor othy David of Omaha and Ron Sauvage of Fort Crook. The bride is a cousin of the Solomon families. Henry A. Hughson Given Certificate In Postal Test Supervisors of the Platts mouth, post office recently part icipated in a unique training program which is believed to be one of the first of its kind under taken In the United States, ac cording to Leslie W. Niel, postmaster. Supervisors from the local of fice who have completed the course and were Issued certifi cates by P. E. (Scottie) Cowan, Wichita regional personnel man ager, was Henry A. Hughson. A total of 60 postal supervisors in Nebraska offices, voluntarily participated in the supervisory development program. Of this group 56 completed the course. This total is exclusive of Lincoln and Omaha, since these offices conduct their own separate courses.
