Mrs. Jane Stelnkamp of Man ley fell at her home Tuesday of last week and cracked a rib. She is under the doctor's care and Is feeling somewhat better. Glendale Club The Glendale club held their last meeting April 23 at the home of Mattie Hennlngs with Lorraine Keckler as' cohostess Roll call, Planting hints, was an swered by 16 members. Guests were Mrs. Marilyn Gardner and son of Papillion, Mrs. Dan Thornton, and Mrs. Ray Thorn ton. Election of officers was held with the following elected: Pauline Stander, president; Jean Group, treasurer; Frieda Read, secretary; Esther Stohlmann, reporter. Lunch was served with Beth Welte winning the lucky nut cup. This closes meetings until fall. W. S. C. s. The WSCS met In the church basement April 24. A one o'clock luncheon is planned for May 8 Guests will be woman's societ ies of nearby towns. The Louis ville Societies are Invited also. Mrs. Edward Stander called her son Dale Stander by tele phone Wednesday to tell him of the new baby boy of Bob Stand ees. Dale said they were all well and that Clifford and his wife were there with them for a few days. TJale Stander lives in Den ver, Colorado and the Clifford Standers were recently married and were out there on their honeymoon. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rahn of Papillion attended the school program in Manley Friday evening. Their grandchildren Jeanette and Leonard Stohl mann were in the program. Myrna Reichart of Omaha spent the weekend with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. George Rei chart. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Davis of Louisville are parents of a son born April 23 at Methodist Hos pital in Omaha. He has been named Robert Eugene and wei ghed 8 pounds and 8 'a ounces. They have one other child, a daughter. Mrs. Davis was for merly Edith Brittain of Platts mouth. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Brittain of Plattsmouth and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Davis of Louisville. Great grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. William Bostic of Burden, Kans., Mrs. Nettie Brittain of Platts mouth and Mrs. Minnie Knut son of Louisville. Mr. and Mrs. Duane Anderson of Lincoln are the parents of a baby daughter born April 21 at the Providence Hospital in Lin coln. She has been named Bar bara Ann. The Andersons have two other daughters. Mrs. An derson is student minister at the First Christian church in Louisville. Callers this week at the Ro bert Davis home to see the new baby were Mr. and Mrs. Law rence Brittain and Mrs. Clyde Brittain all of Plattsmouth, Mrs. Irene Johnson and Mrs. Marge McClun. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Norris and Steve of Avoca and Mrs. Frank Pace of Weeping Water were Friday evening supper guests at the Elwln Issac home and later attended the school program. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sluyter called on Mr. and Mrs. Lee Sluy ter in Omaha Saturday and also called on Mrs. Raymond Sluy ter at an Omaha hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Lonnle Barnes of Omaha were Sunday callers at the Harold Barnes home and also at the Milford Melsinger home in South Bend. Manley School News The pupils of the upper room of the Manley school went on a tour to Omaha April 23. Mrs. Puis, Mrs. Hammons and Mrs. Kritenbrink and Mrs. Straub drove cars. Theye went to Swift's Packing Co., Veterans Hospital, Kitty Clover Co., and Boys Town and ate at a cafe Linda Shee han, reporter. Marilyn Massoth and I.arrv Hammons are absent from school because of pink eye. A large crowd enjoyed the spring program presented hv the lower grades of the Manley scnooi Friday night. Joyce Ann Welch spent her spring vacation from Wesleyan University last week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wel ch. Mrs. James Drlnnln and son and Mrs. Max Welton returned home Tuesday from a two weeks vacation spent In California. Cub Scouts The Cub Scout Pack meeting was held April 17. Cubmaster Elmore Saltmarsh announced the Cub Scout potluck dinner is to be held at Ak-Sar-Ben May 15. The Pack meeting will begin at 7:30. Next meeting is May 15. Awards presented were: Danny Ault, Registration Card, Bob Cat Pin; Jim Woolhlser, Silver Ar row under Bear; Paul Smith, Gold and Silver Arrows under Wolf; Russell Gaebel, Bear Badge, Gold and Silver Arrows under Bear. Country Extension Club The Country Extension club met April 24 at the home of Josephine Helm. Thirteen mem bers answered roll call by nam ing the latest book they had read. She was spending a week in the Forrest Engelkemeler home observing the American way of living. Jolly Workers The Jolly Workers 4-H Club met at the home of Mrs. Anton Johnson. All members were present and Dona Scott and Janet Forrest became members of the club. Each girl is doing good in cooking. After games, refreshments of ice cream bars were served by Gazle Ziers. Paty Gerdes, reporter. Wesleyan Service Guild The Wesleyan Service Guild held its meeting April 23. The Guild voted to donate to the Cancer Fund. Hazel Dolan vo lunteered for the flowers com mittee for next month.
