I SOUTH ASHLAND Mrs. Ivan Armstrong Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Bachman and Mr. and Mrs. Milton Bach man returned Thursday from a month's trip to California and Idaho. Norman Rau, local road main, teiiunce man, suffered a severe heart attack while at work at Murdock Monday. He was tak en by ambulance to Bryari Mem orial Hospital and was accom panied by his wife who has re mained by his bedside each day. Hy Sunday he was showliig some iniprr vemrrt. The little boys. Russell and C harles, are staying with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Rau. Mrs. George Gage of Dunning came Wednesday to see her bro ther but was in his room just a few minutes. They observed their 49th wedding anniversary recently. Sunday was the 25th wedding anniversary for their daughter, Mildred, Mrs. Earl Robbins and Mr. Robbins. Several of the Han son family went to Cedar Falls, Iowa, to help Mr. and Mrs. Rob bins celebrate. The Junior Fairlanders Ex tension Club will meet April 21 with Mrs. Milton Bochman at 1:30 p.m. The South Ashland Women's Club will meet on Wednesday, April 22, at the home of Mrs. Clara Pershing. There will be an exchange of plants. The Friendly Neighbor Exten sion Club will meet with Mrs. Cortis Lemon on April 21 at 1:30 p.m. Twelve members of the Hi Nei ghbor Club met with Mrs. Ro bert Leesley April 8. After a short business meeting the afternoon, was spent socially and with cards. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Apple garth, and family are new resid ents in this community, they live on the Henry Armstrong farm. Their Telephone number is 4-8267. Mrs. Raymond Nelson went to Hallam Thursday to attend an executive district board meet ing of the Association of the Congregational church She stop ped in Lincoln that evening where Mr. Nelson joined her at the Joe Leggit home for supper. A group of South Ashland re sidents went to the Oscar Lau ghlin home Thursday to Chari vari, Mr. and Mrs Wayne Laugh lin. Those in the group were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Keller, Mr. and Mrs. George Bornman, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Richards, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Farmer, Bob and Bill, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lau ghlin, James and Wesley, Mrs. Dewey Moore and Dewey W. and Negal Bricker, others there from Ashland were Mr. and Mrs. My ron Laughlin and Tacie, Mrs. W. Paula Jean is the name given to the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Junior Kinney. Her birth day is April 5th. She and her mother came home Friday to be with Merry Ann and Skippy and of course the proud Father, Jun ior. For those of you who remem ber Lee Clark, brother of the late Ray Clark, he passed away at his home at Denver, Colorado with burial at Denver. Mrs. Harold Timblln and Mrs. Kendall Dimmitt were guests of the Womens division of the Chamber of Commerce of Lin coln. Those attending were the presidents of the extension clubs of Cass, York, Otoe, Lancaster and Seward Counties. Registra tion was at the Governors Man sion, The group visited the Legis lature with lunch at the Air Base. Mr. and Mrs. Max Towne and family of Kinballton, Iowa were guests of Mrs. Towne's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Stroemer, Sunday celebrating Mrs. Stroe mers birthday. Mr. and Mrs W. L.
