Friends received word of the death of Qeorge Elliott, 67. of Lincoln Wednesday. He was a .salesman and lived In Avoca, several months the past year. Robert McDonald and John Woluh attended funeral servic es Friday and were pallbearers. Burial was in Lincoln. Thl young girls have been entertaining with musical instruments in pub lic for some time. The public is invited. The Easter eeu hunt at Eagle last Saturday was enioved by a large crowed of youngsters. The hunt was sponsored by the bus inessmen of Eaele with Melvin Doran and Rev. E. H. Prange in charee of hiding the eggs. Rev. Don Chrlstensen of Dal las, Tex., visited in Eagle Sat urday evening enroute to Chap pell to spend Easter vacation with his parents. Mrs. Christen, sen could not make the trio as she is serving as secretary for a minister and church at Dal las and could not leave at this time. Rev. Christensen was a student-Dastor at Eagle Method ist Church before graduating from Weslevan. He is studying at the Seminar of Religious Ed ucation at Dallas. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Rodaway arrived at Eagle from Califor nia Thursday, having sold their trailer home and plan to remain in Nebraska. He has taken a .lob as painter and decorator. They lived in Lincoln before go ing to California. They are visit ing at the Ray Wall home. Mr. and Mrs. L. K. Swarts visited his brother, Mr. Wayne Swarts at Lincoln General Hos pital Sunday. Mrs. Swarts en tered the hospital on last Friday and will undergo surgery. Bill Umland. eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Umland, left for the Armv and is assigned to Ft. Leonard Wood. Missouri. Mrs. Umland is eijiDloved as a bookkeeper at the University of Nebraska and is continuing her position. She lives with her par ents. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schro der at Palmyra. Mrs. Herbert Stewart and 3 children and her father of Paw nee Citv soent Easter Sunday at the home of Mrs. Hallie Stew art. Dr. Hubert Stewart left on Saturday afternoon for Chicago to attend a specialists refresh er course a few davs. The Junior High Sunday school class of Eagle Methodist Church and teacher Mrs. John Fischer and pastor Rev. Bowne have planned to visit several churches at Lincoln Saturday afternoon. Those who can go are to meet at the church at 1 o' clock. Transportation will be pro vided. The class has been taking prep aration for church membership and will ioin the second Sunday in May. Mothers have been in terested in visiting during the class hour and are invited to go along on the tour. Mrs. Walter Umlands father, Mr. Fredrick Lohmeier (86 yrs) of 2603 J St, Lincoln died on Saturday at Lincoln. Mr. Loh meier was a member of the Re deemer Lutheran Church, Lin coln. Survivors: wife, Anna; daughters, Mrs. Louise Umland Eagle, Mrs. Martha Catherell, Lincoln, Mrs. Hulda Tychsen, Walton; Sons, Henry, Albert, and William all of Lincoln. Brother, August of Pleasant Dale; Sisters Mrs. Dora Becker of Boring, Ore gon, Mrs. Anna Schmidt, of Mil- ford, and Mrs. Amelia Becke-r of Lincoln, 8 grandchildren 4 great grandchildren. Mr. Pat Donlan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Donlan, left for the armed services on last Sun day, March 22nd. He has been assigned Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. He is a graduate of Eagle High School and has at tended the Uni. of Nebraska, former proprietor of the Eagle Hy-way Cafe and one of the Or ganizers of the Boy Scouts for the Eagle boys and served as a Scout Master, for the group. The University of Nebraska students of Eagle returned to their classes Monday morning. Kaye Marie Swarts and Sharon Wall are the two from Eagle. The Nebr. Wesleyan students had Good Friday and Monday vaca tion. Rev. Robert Bowne, Lowell Umland returned to their class es on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ander son and family, of Lincoln, was supper guests at his parents home, on last Tuesday night Pam Anderson remained over nite at the grandparents home the C. G. Andersons. The Wolf Patrol Scout Troop enjoyed a hike on Saturday afternoon with their leader, Mr. Melvin Doran. They cooked their complete meal a mile and a halt from Eagle and returned home late afternoon. Those in the Wolf Troop are: John Mass, Bob Trunkenbotz. Marvin Oberle, Ed ward Root, Timmy Nutter, Clif ford Schildt and Mike Doran. She is five years old and is the dauehter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kapke, Omaha (Jeanne Axe), a niece of the Eagle ladies. Mrs. Herbert Umland, has been enioving a trio and visit in Calif ornia for a few weeks, having made the trip with Mrs. Cosette Mereuke, a cousin of Mr. Um land. She came to Nebr. to at tend the funeral services of an uncle, Wm. Bergman a few weeks ago. Junior Weichel was home from School at Peru from Tuesday through Monday of this week for spring and Easter Vacation. Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Mrs. Emil Rieke, seventh and eighth grade teacher, and Sharyl Vande Hoef, the spelling con testant, attended the County spelling contest in Plattsmouth last Saturday.
