The junior high boys are own ers of the trophy as Cass County basketball champions. They beat Greenwood. 35-25 In the final, after downing Alvo, 37-10. Greenwood won second place and Murdock third. Cass Drug Walgreen Agency Old Resident Pays Visit To City Monday Ed. Gustin of Lincoln was a visitor in Plattsmouth, enjoying a few hours stay in the community where he came as a youth in 1882 from his na tive Wisconsin. Mr. Gustin had business at the court house and took the time to look up a few acquaintances. When the Gustin family first came here, they located on the Hull farm west of this city, where they spent a few years and later located in the Mur dock community where the family was active in community affairs. One of the members of the family, John F. Gustin, was a member of the legislature from Cass county at one time. Mr. Gustin states that the farm home that they located on was known as the "seven mile house" and he for several years was a student at the Pleasant Ridge school and had as school mates the members of the John H. Becker family, William, Ed. George, Phil, Dora, Nell and Carrie, as well as L. A. Meisin ger.. Mr. Gustin had a nice visit with Mr. Meisinger and in re newing old times. Mr. Gustin is living at 1101 So 23 street in Lincoln. Roger Baumgart, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herb Baumgart of O ma'ha, will undergo surgery Fri day, and would like to hear from hi Plattsmouth friends. Elmer Elliott Is Pregressing Nicely Elmer Elliott who has been suffering from the effects of a heart attack several months ago, is gradually gaining his streng th at the home in this city. He returned sometime ago from St. Mary's hospital at Nebraska City and now is battling his way back to health. He is still con fined to the home but is hope ful of soon being able to enjoy a visit among the friends in the downtown area. Police Court Has Run of Business For the Mid-Week Check of the docket at the city court this morning disclosed Judge James Howard Graves had a busy time. Two girls, 13 and 15. were be fore the court charged with dis turbing the peace. Both girls entered picas of guilty to the charge and each drew a fine of $10 and costs, amounting to $14 each that was settled and they were released. Mrs. Wauneta Stillinger was charged with running a stop sign, operating a motor vehicle without a driver's license and no registration on the car. Cash bond of $25 was posted for ap pearance March 25. William Irvin was charged with improper parking and giv en a fine of $1 and costs, total $5. Harry Buckhold was charged with improper parking and plac ed a cash bond of S5 for future appearance. Mrs. Leonard Born returned home Wednesday from the Methodist Hospital in Omaha where she underwent observa tion and submitted to surgery. She is getting along fine. The re-opeing of Mom's Cafe on Main Street todav gladden ed the hearts of coffee lovers at the Journal and other work ers in this part of town. Coffee breaks just weren't the same. The cafe closed a wnek for re decoration. "Mom" promised herself a jaunt into Omaha but plans didn't materialize. Mrs. William H. Schmidtmann left by plane for Columbus, Ohio, this week to be with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Dunn and to welcome her new granddaughter.
