Mr. and Mrs. Richard Peck and son will be moving this month to Oma ha, and purchasing their resi dence here is the John Speck family. Purchasers of the Speck property are Mr. and Mrs. Will Cook of Louisville. All expect to move this month. .Old friends of Clyde Brooks, former resident, will be interest ed to learn that he is still lo cated at Springfield. Mo., met ropolis of the Ozarks. Clyde has returned from the mail service being a carrier for some forty years in Springfield. He is now a clerk at the Sterling hotel in that city. He will be remembered here as son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ben Brooks. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Hughson and Mr. and Mrs. n. a. nugnson i were in Union Thursday, where they attended the funeral of John Pearsley, cousin of the Hughsons . Mr. and Mrs. Henry Vinduska recently returned from an 8-day plane trip to Washington, D. C. They visited Mrs. Vinduska's sisters, Mr. an Mrs. Terry Smith, Washington, and Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Felllngham, Wood bridge, Va. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Pearsley of Leavenworth, Kans., were overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. P. F. Rihn in this city Monday. They were here to attend the funeral of John Pearsley at Union and visiting old friends at that place. Tom Gradville of Burlington, la., was here this week to visit with his son, Joe Gradoville and family. He is returning home Friday. Mrs. Georgia Gardner, Mrs. Beatrice Taylor of this city and Mrs. Delia Smith of Bellevue served at the spaghetti dinner held at th Holy Family Church at Omaha Sunday. Two hundred persons attended. Attorney Florence A. Fouchek and Miss LorLs B. Long, realtor, have returned from short vaca tion trip to San Antonio, Brown ville and McAUen, Tex. They were accompanied by Miss Fou chek's mother, Mrs. S. A. Fou chek, and Miss Garland B. Townsend of Creston, la. Danel Duncan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Duncan, 708 Patter son Av., is winner in a Rexall Drug national contest through an entry at Schreiner Drug here. His prize is a year's supply of vitamins. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Wiles and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gross hans motored to Fairfax, Mo., Monday to attend funeral ser vices of their aunt, Mrs. Grace Wiles Finch. They were accom panied by Mrs. Harold Hurst, a friend of the Finch family. While attending the State Dis tributive Education Convention in Lincoln last weekend, Joe York of Plattsmouth had the pleasure of visiting with a class mate of his, Ed H. Smith and Mrs. Smith (Jacqueline Weten kamp). Smith represented the Lincoln Sales Executive Assoc iation in its portion of the con vention. York, along with the Smith, had a long visit Sunday night with L. S. Devoe, Platts mouth superintendent of schools when the Smiths and Yorks were students here. A card from Mrs. Roy Rhoden tells of the illness of her hus band who is in the hospital at St. Louis, Mo. Mrs. Rhoden's ad dress is 1365 Nashua Drive, Flor issant, Mo. Mr. and Mrs. S. Ray Smith of Hartington, Nebr.; were here for a short visit Wednesday with eld friends while enroute to Weeping Water their former home. They have just returned from a trip to the west coast. Mr. Smith is interested with his son, Milford in a large mortuary at Hartington. Frank Hemke and Ezra Neben, well known residents of Mur dock, were in the city Wednes day, while here called at the Journal to enroll as readers for the ensuing year. M. and Mrs. Don C. York re turned home Wednesday evening from several weeks spent in the Rio Grande valley of Texas, their old home. They were guests of Mrs. L. V. Copenhaver, sister of Mrs. York and with Mr. and Mrs. Russell Perry at Harlingen, Tex. While there they attended the wedding of a niece of Mrs. York. Mrs. Joe Kruntorad has re turned home from the St. Joseph hospital in Omaha where she was a patient for some time. She is feeling much improved but is still confined to her home. Mrs. Helen Dieter Brandt, for merly of Plattsmouth and dau ghter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Dieter, has been notified that she has been chosen a Rcnner-Up Win ner in a family "Price Is Right" contest. Her prizes are as fol lows: outboard motor, automatic washer and matching dryer, Persian lamb jacket, a bicycle, nome workship, 17-jewel ladies watch, portable typewriter, and a polaroid camera. Harold Puis of Murray was taken to Melhodist Hospital, Omaha, Tuesday, by Sattler am bulance. His condition was "serious." Mr. and Mrs. Paul Baburek have returned from a short busi ness and pleasure trip to Louis ville, Ky. They made the trip by plane from Omaha. Mrs. Florence McDonald Phone 2292 Mr. and Mrs. Vern Lau are the parents of a son bom on Wednesday, March 4. They now have two sons. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Mat his of Lincoln are the parents of a daughter born on March 4. They now have two daughters. Mrs. Mathis was formerly Mary iln Wehrman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Wehrman. Ferd Brunkow was taken to the Bryan Memorial Hospital on Sunday evening where he underwent major surgery Tues day morning. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Lictenber ger and sons went to Kansas Sunday to visit Bob's father, who had recently undergone major surgery. Funeral services were held for Mrs. Emil Kuehn on Tuesday afternoon at the EUB Church. She passed away in Columbus, Georgia, hospital. She had been staying with her daughter, Mrs. Charles Pemerton for two mon ths where she took suddenly ill and had to have emergency operation from which she did not survive. Burial was in Elm wood cemetery. Mrs. Irene Craig died at her home March 9 at the age of 54. Funeral was at Alvo Methodist Church Thursday. School was dismissed last Thursday and Friday due to the snow storm.
