The Greenwood B-Square 4-H club held their regular meeting Saturday, March 7 at the Meth odist church basement. All mem bers were present. For roll call each member was asked to name parts of a pig. Jerry and Kent Haertel were the host for the social hour. Jerry Haertel -reporter. Mr. and Mrs. Don Sacca and family were Sunday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth O'Rourke. Orville Sandy spent Saturday in Lincoln visiting Mrs. Nellie Vant at the St. Elizabeth hospi tal and Mr. and Mrs. Duane Nelson at their home. WSCS held their general meeting at the Methodist chur ch Tuesday. Mrs. DeAlton Ful mer opened the meeting with devotions. At the business session of ficers for the following year voted on and approved were: Mrs. Vernon Greer, president; Mrs. DeAlton Fulmer, vice pre sident; Mrs. Wayne Landon, secretary; Mrs. Harmon Miller, treasurer and Mrs. Elmer Lead abrand, spiritual secretary. After the business session, Mrs. Jack Wiles gave the lesson. Lun ch was served by Mrs. Mabel Lambert, Mrs. Ralph Clymer, Mrs. Fannie Talcott and Mrs. Bill Hartsook. Mrs. Louis Wright entertain ed the Dorcas society at her home Friday. Mrs. Virgil Lueton reported the Heart drive in the Green wood area was well responded to. Mrs. Ida Witt suffered a light stroke Friday and was taken to the nursing home at Weeping Water Saturday. John Meyers returned home from the hospital Friday. Mrs. Ken Carpenter under went surgery at the Bryan Mem orial hospital Wednesday and returned home Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Joe Marshall entered the St. Elizabeth hospital Friday. She is being treated for her dia betic condition. Mrs. Ray Rouse has been on the sick list the past two weeks. Sunday callers on Mr. and Mrs. Ray Rouse were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Anderson and dau ghter all of Lincoln as they were on their way to call on Alvin Anderson at the University hos pital at Omaha. Alvin under went surgery Friday. Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Condon were Mrs. GLENDALE Mrs. Tom Tennanl Phone 4251 Mrs. Elmer Johnson and Mrs P. G. Hennings drove to Ash land early Tuesday to accom pany Mr. and Mrs. Harry Brlc ker to Kearney where they vis ited their brother-iin-law who has been very ill in the hospital, also their sister and at the Wil lis Rhodes and family home They returned in the evening. Mrs. C. E. Sutton entertain ed Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Sutton and family of Omaha at Sunday dinner. Afternoon callers wer Mrs. Joe Habel, Mrs. C. Sjo gren and Mrs. Elmer Sprieck. Mr. and Mrs. John Wegener, Mr. and Mrs. John Moran and family were supper guests Sun day at the Robert Startzer home in Bellevue. t Lester Wagoner visited Jim Ingram Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Wegener and daughter and Mrs. Jim In gram went to Omaha to bring Jim Ingram home from the hos pital Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lange and Linda of Omaha spent Sunday at the Lester Tennant home. Mr. and Mrs. John Ritter and houseguest Mrs. Christie Ritter returned home Thursday from a trip to Texas. They couldn't get the car home off the highway but were able to walk the short distance down the drifted road. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Wagoner attended the funeral for Mrs. Sarah Owen of Lincoln at Ash land Marca Funeral Home Wed nesday of last week. Mrs. Owen was Mrs. Wagoner's aunt. Condon's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Plantenberg of Emerson. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Marolf spent last weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Johnson of Bertrand. Joe DeVore spent Sunday with his son, Mr. and Mrs. Vern DeVore of Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Piatt and Joyce spent the weekend with Mr. Piatt's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. O. D. Ayers of Man kato, Kans. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Town ley and family visited Mr. Town ley's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Townley of Rising City. Sunday callers at the Ben Ho ward home were Bob Shepler and sons and Vern Shepler of Springfield. Mrs. Vern Shepler returned home with them after spending several days with Mrs. Ben Howard. Spec4 Cecil and Mrs. Fritz gerald of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., spent the week with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kirk and Beth. Monday evening callers at the Henry Kirk home were Mr. and Mrs. Bert Stockton of Omaha. Sunday afternoon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Barber were Mr. and Mrs. David Barber, Steve end Kirk of Lincoln and Charley Helmi of Kearney. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Kinney arrived at the home of Mrs. Kinney's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hyles Friday, after spending the past 3 months in California. Mr. and Mrs. Kinney had left their car at the Kyles home dur ing their absence and because of the storm, the car was drift ed in. They drove Mr. Kyle's car to their home at Alvo and re turned Saturday for their car and had dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kyles. Sunday evening supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Miller were Mr. and Mrs. Glen Miller, Nancy, John and Nina of Elm-wood. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Cordes and daughters visited at the Fred Cordes home Sunday. M-Sgt. and Mrs. Stanley De Lette and family were afternoon callers at the Elmer Johnson home Monday. The De Leetes have been stationed Hawaii and are on their way to a sta tion in New Hampshire. They were to visit next at Des Moin es. Correction: We are sorry Mrs. Kay Derby's brother was Ray Andrews, not Hall as reported. Mrs. Kay Derby and daught ers called at the Arthur Derby home Monday. Her daughters stayed there while Mrs. Derby called at the Lerov Derby home and visited at the Jim Derby home In Plattsmouth and attend ed the Aid Societv. She was snow bound at Cedar Creek till Satur day, then returned to her home In Lincoln. Mrs. Tom Tennant received word of the death of Mrs. Myr tle Waldron of Two Harbors Minn., Friday. She is Mrs. Ten nant's sister-in-law and aunt of Mrs. Orville Robblns. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Stoehr visited at the John Terryberry home Sundav evening. Mr. and Mrs. John Wegener called at the Jim Ingram home Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. John Ritter and Mrs. Christie Ritter called at the T. A. Tennant home Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Short Baker and Mrs. Elmer Sprieck attended a horse sale at Council Bluffs on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard John son and family of Sioux City spent the weekend at the El mer Johnson and Laurence Bord man home. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Sutton and family, Mrs. C. E. Sutton called at the Elmer Sprieck home Sundav evening. Mrs. M. K. Schroeder, Mrs. Lena Schroeder. Syracuse, and Mrs. Tom Tennant were in Om aha Tuesday afternoon and call ed at the Arnold Tennant home. Elmer Sprieck, Irus Gerdes, Elvln Isaac went to Omaha on Tuesday to give blood at the blood bank on behalf of Elmer Wendt who was able to come home Sunday afternoon and is doing very well at this writing. Robert Hell also returned home . from the hospital last week. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Robbins visited Mrs. Bob Sell Monday morning at the M. E. Hospital and they expected her to come home Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. John Van Vleit and family of Lincoln and Mr and Mrs. Bernard Johnson of Sioux City were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Johnson Sunday. Mrs. Gene Hickman returned home early Sunday morning of last week alter visiting relativ es in Kansas. Mrs. Robert Dolan and Mrs. Darrel Reed were caught in the storm in Papillion Wednesday and stayed at the Franics Rit ter home.
