Financial Aid Available For Woodland Program Nebraska farmers can carry out good woodland management practices with financial assist ance through the Agricultural Conservation Program, accord ing to Karl Loerch, Extension Forester at the University of Nebraska. Most Nebraska woodlots are neglected, overgrazed or mis managed, resulting in little or no profit for the owner. Loerch said. Proper management could make many of these areas a source of future income. Since much of this management work does not result in financial re turns, federal cost-share pay -" ments are made available, the forester said. Payment rates are set at 80 per rent of the cost of doing the work with a maximum of $20 per acre. Technical assistance also is available for woodlot owners wanting to do improve ment work. Types of improvement work include thinning out excess trees and shrubs, killing or re moving undesirable species and properly pruning the desirable crop of trees. Information can be obtained from county agricultural agents, county ASC offices and district lor esters. Journal Want Ads Pay i -Ola. - A II AA.AAAAAAAt A..A.A. A A.AAAAA,AAAAAAArni
