Sue Baker spent two days the past week visiting with Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Baker. The LCPV Extension Club met Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. John Jochim. Nine mem bers and a guest, Mrs. John Beck, attended. Mrs. Beck be came a member. Mrs. Vernon Dettmer gave a safety report on Family Fire Drill. It was voted to give a donation to the Diabetic Camp Fund and the Pennies for Friendship. Mrs. Robert Berg.nann gave the les son on Laundry Tricks and Oad. gets. The Retired Farm Ladles clu'o met Friday at the home of Mrs. Herman Rauth. The afternoon was spent socially. Next meet ing will be at the home of Mrs. Alma Berner. Terry Jones of Lincoln, Eu gene Kobler of Louisville and Sharon Upton were Saturday evening guests at the Edward Van Horn home. Terry had the misfortune to get the end of his left index finger cut off in a machine working in Lincoln. It was cut off at the first 1oint. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Roberts of Omaha were Friday evening guests of Mrs. Raymond Free man and family. Maryellen Rob erts and the Charles Roberts' spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Roberts. Mrs. Edgar Burgen is again a patient at the Bryan Memor ial Hospital in Lincoln. She is taking treatments and having x-rays. A card shower was held for Mrs, Burgen as her birthday was March 1 and she received many cards and gifts. Clayton Cooper was a Wednes day dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Cooper. Ricky, Debbie and Kit Cooper spent Saturday at the Clifford Coopers while Clayton went to Omaha to have an impacted wisdom tooth extracted. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Coopei and family were Sunday after noon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Rathe and family. Mr. and Mrs. Pat Wade and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Dettmer were in Plattsmouth Sunday .when the men took part in the bowling tournament. A surprise birthday party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Kinton Sunday eve ning honoring Mr. Kinton on his 77th birthday. Mrs. Kinton re ports he was really surprised. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Steinkamp and Jane of Louisville were Mon day guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Steinkamp. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Upton and family were Tuesday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Hy Kir chhoff and Erma. A birthday coffee was held at the home of Mrs. E. E, Loren sen, honoring Mrs. Lorensen, Mrs. Charles Gibson, Mrs. Mur ray Mutter and Mrs. Walter An derson on their birthdays. The Brownies met on Monday night after school with Marcia Mcgensen and Karen Meyer furnishing the refresh ments. The girls made soap suds paint ings. The Danish Ladies Aid held their February meeting at the home of Mrs. Chris Elgaard with nine members and three guests present, Mrs. Vernon Duwe, Mrs. Henry Christen.en and Mrs. El lis. The afternoon was spent so cially. Family night was held in the Congregational church parlors with a covered dish supper. Hos tesses were Mrs. E. J. Bender, Mrs. Harold Elliott and Mrs. E. E. Lorensen. Following a bounti ful meal, evening devotions were led by Rev. I. C. G. Campbell and color slides of Turkey were shown by Mr Campbell. Family night will again be held on April 20th and slides will be shown by Robert Domingo. Family night will not be held in March. The members of the Rebekah Kensington met on Wednesday in the Odd Fellows Hall for an all day meeting. The day was spent in tying a quilt. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Duwe and son, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Beins and Mr. and Mrs. LaNeil Patter son were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Rector at a birthday party, honoring Mr. Beins on his bir thday. The evening was spent in playing canasta. The new 4-H Tractor Club, The Cass County Pistons elec ted the following officers at their meeting: President, Jim Mei singer; vice-president, Donald Groesser; Secretary, Kenneth Domingo and news reporter, Ro bert Rathe. The next meeting will be "Tractor Safety" Robert Domingo, the leader, recently at tended a Leaders Training Clinic on "Tractor Operation" at fna University of Nebraska College of Agricultural. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Baker and family were guests at a family dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Baker, honoring Ro bert, Jr. on his birthday. Mrs. John Mead was a dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Troy Je well on Tuesday. Mrs. Sterling Amick visited for a few days in Lincoln with MSgt. and Mrs. Vern Amick and family. While there, they all attended the Ice Capades at the Pershing Auditorium. Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Eiden miller and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Urwin were Thursday night guests for a fish fry at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Cooper. Those attending from the Weeping Water Metho dist church were Sharon Stock, Sara Jensen, Geraldine Michel- sen, Velda and Bevely Lee, Helen Mather, Donald Groesser, Gary Wiles, Jim Potts and Jack Mil ler. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lover check, sponsors of this group, also attended. Mrs. Mark Hohman, Phyllis and Alice went to the Van Horn Kobler wedding Sunday after noon in the Christian Church parlors. Chapter BT-PEO met on Fri day afternoon at the home of Mrs. Emily Olive. Esther Tefft presented the program on Ihc "American Flag". The next meeting will be with Mrs. Victor Wallick with Kathryn Ellis as co-hosteis. The regular meeting of the PTA was held on Monday eve ning in the school auditorium with a large crowd attending. Harold Elliott conducted a short business meeting. The second grade won the at tendance prize for January and Miss Minerva Schliefert won the PTA magazine as door door prize. The following nominating com mittee was announced: W. N Roberts, Wilson Bickford and Mrs. Louis Noble. Election of officers will be held in March and a collece program will be presented. Arleen LaVern Fitzpatrick, the daughter U Mrs. Roy Fitzpat rick, became the bride of David A. Ashworth of Martinville. Va., on Feb. 21 at the First Pres byterian church of Lincoln. The four o'clock service was read by Rev. Ben White. The bride wore a white wool princess style street length dr ess and carried an arrangement of a white Bible and an orchid. Mrs. Richard Sheldon chose a lavendar wool dress as matron of honor. Richard Sheldon was best man. Close lriends and relatives were present at the wedding. A reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Meyer Saturday evening in Lincoln. Mrs. William P. Wade cut the wedding cake. Mrs. Robert Hawkins and Mrs. Richard Hart served coffee. Mrs. George Richert was in charge of the gifts and Patricia Jean Wade the guest book. The couple will make their home in St. Charles, 111.
