Obituary of Mrs. Rosenkoetter Minnie Bell Buell, youngest daughter of George and Lilla Buell, was born Dec. 13, 1885, on a farm near Murdock and died at the home of her daught er Feb. 19. She attended Murdock school and grew to womanhood in that vicinity. She attended Wesleyan College and received a teach er's certificate and taught sch ool for five years On Feb. 2, 1912, she was mar ried to Adolph Rosenkoetter and established their home in Elm wood. After her marriage she transferred her church member ship from the Methodist church at Murdock to the EUB Church in Elmwood. Surface Funeral Held At Union On Thursday Funeral services were held to day at First Methodist Church at Union for Philip E. Surface, 83, former resident of Union. Mr. Surface was a member of one of the old families of Liv ery precinct, later moving to Knox County and to Lincoln in 1940. He died Sunday at Los An geles where he had been visit ing a daughter. Surviving are nine children, a sister, Mrs. Sanford True, Un ion, a brother, Dewitt Surface, Union. Rev. Clyde Surface of Omaha, a son of the deceased, officiated at the funeral. Funeral Service Of Major Stephens Held At Offutt Major Henry M. Stephens, 55, died Tuesday at the home 3208 Calhoun street, Bellevue as the result of asphyxiation. He was born May 31. 1903 at New York City, son of Harry and Anna Kay Stephens and was married in August 1952 to Miss Mary Breamer at Travis Air Force Base. Survivors are the wife, Mary Stephens, Bellevue and mother, Mrs. Anna Kay Stephens of Brooklin, N. Y. Major Stephens was a mem-, ber of the Air Force for the past 14 years and at the time of his death a Strategic Air Command intelligence officer, director of intelligence at Offutt Air Force base. He was well known to many of the local people. He had been assigned to Offutt Field since April 15, 1958. He was a member of the First Baptist church at Omaha and of Roome lodge 746 AF & AM at New York, City. Major Ste phens was a graduate of Wil liam college, New York City, 1923, Phi Beta Kappa, master of arts at Columbia university Funeral services were held this afternoon at 4 o'clock at Of futt Field chapel. Chaplain Har din and Dr. Smith officiating. Burial was at Riverview ceme tery, Riverside, Calif. Pallbear ers were Lt. Col. Edgar F. Wood ward, Lt. Col. Harry B. Bailey, Lt. Col. W. E. Hilario Hernandez, 41, well known in Plattsmouth, died suddenly of a heart attack Tues day at the family home, 183 Nel son Drive, Offutt. He was born February G, 1918 at Beeville, Tex., son of Am- brocia and Livrada Hernandez. Since their station at Offutt Field the Hernandez family have been attending the Bap tist church in Plattsmouth. They were formerly members of the Presbyterian church at Beeville. Surviving the death of Sgt.
