Wednesday: 7:30 p.m. The United Lutheran Church Women will meet in the home of Mrs. Albert Hansen. The annual Blue and Gold ban quet was held on Wednesday evening in the Christian Church parlors with around 100 in at tendance. Mrs. James Doyle and Sigvald Jensen led in th? group singing of the doxology. The Den Tables were beatifully decorated with different themes. Den 1 used a candlelight theme, hav ing the Den candle board for a centerpiece. Den 2 carried out the Valentine motif and Den 3 used a rocket ship and a trip to the moon theme. After a bountiful dinner, Mrs. Lynn Rothe and Mrs. Herman Aronson presented a skit with everyone taking part in the ac tions. Maribelle Elliott gave a humorous reading "Country Boy at the Basketball game." Group round singing and a quiz by Mr. Jensen followed. The following awards were then presented by Mr. Jensen: Wolf badge, Tommy Kunz, Jimmy Bender, Steven Heneger: Bear Badge, Billy Det tmer, gold arrow, two silver ar rows; Bear Badge, Eric Aronson, Ronald Adkins, Terry Doyle and Robbie King; Lion badge Robert Ratliff and Brian Fitzpatrick. Steve Heneger was also present ed with a gold and silver arrow. Denner stripes were given to Tommy Meeske and Jimmy Mic helsen; Service stars to Bobbie Ratliff and Wayne Farris. The evening closed with all singing "God Bless America." Mr. and Mrs. James Sullivan of Pittsfield, Mass. are the par ents of a baby girl born on Feb ruary 17, 1959. She weighed 7 pounds 3 ounces. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Rector of Rochester, New York and James Sullivan, Sr. of Rochester, New York are the grandparents. Mrs. Agnes Doyle Rector of Weeping Water are the great grandparents. Mr. and Mr?. Dan Sudduth i.nd Mrs. Ethel Yarnall of Lincoln were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Er nest Bates. Mr. and Mrs. Leroy St rat ton and boys were Monday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Strat ton. The Sew'n'Sews met on Mon day evening at the home of Mrs. Neil Fitzpatrick with eleven members present. The evening was spent in sowing and visiting. Several games of Tic Tac Dough were played. The Opportunity Exte n s i o n Club met on Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Frank Cook with Mrs. Murray Mutter as co hostess. The meeting was con ducted by Mrs. Alma Berner. Mrs. Mutter gave the devotions. Mrs. S. H. Harmon led in group singing. Seventeen members were pre sent and one guest, Mrs. Arthur Meeske. A reading report was given by Mrs. E. E. Lorensen. Mrs. Lorensen and Mrs. Claude Hollenberger gave an in teresting lesson on "Laundry Tricks and Gadgets." The next meeting will be held on March 17th at the home of Mrs. Henry Knaup with Mrs. Lester Parson as co-hoste-s. Mrs. Ed Holseher of Cook suent Wednesday with Mrs. Rav- they started the cleaning job of the smoke damage resulting from a fire recently at the Free man home. Mrs. Neil Fitzpat rick and Mrs. Darrcll Mather spent Friday helping and Mrs. Marvin Wade helped In the afternoon. The American Legion Auxi liary met Tuesday evening in the Legion Hall for their regular meeting. Fourteen members and seven guests were present. The members voted to give a dona tion to the Heart Fund. Plans were made for a House to House canvass for the Heart Fund on Sunday afternoon, February 22 at 1:30 p.m. Plans were also made for a 6:30 p.m. covered dish dinner on March 17th. They will hold this dinner with the Legion to honor the Legion on their 41st bir thday anniversary. A social hour will follow. Mrs. Willard Wolf won the door prize. Following the busi ness meeting a program on Civil Air Patrol was led by Mrs. Neil Munkres. Refres hraents were served by Mrs. Vern Harter, Mrs. Verle Johnson and Mrs. Munk res. Family night was held Friday evening in the Christian Church parlors with 83 in attendance. A miscellaneous .shower for Myrna Van Horn and Eugene Kobler was held also. Mrs. Henry Knaup, Mrs. Leroy Zessin and Mrs. Lynn Rothe were on the decorating committee. The tables were covered with white and a red heart gumdrop tree was cen tered on each with red hearts on napkins and favors on the table. A small table covered with white was centered in the church parlors and on this was a Valen tine cake with Myrna and Eu gene written on it with red candles on each side. The gift table had red and white stream ers. Following the supper, Buster Baxter showed colored movies. The gifts were then opened by the couple and the evening of fellowship was closed with pray er by Rev. Victor Schwarz.
