Hut. Beatrice was too much. The score was 76-58. The loss was I'lattsmouth's fifth straight and second in two Twin Rivers Basketball Confer ence Raines. Over all it is 4-5 Beatrice, 4th ranked in the state among all schools and first in Class A, is unbeaten in the Twin Rivers. Tuesday night, the local Blue Devils got off to a good start before Beatrice showed how it ran take control of a situation. Plattsmouth was ahead from the time Al Dasher swished a short jump shot for the first score until iu.st over one minute remained in the first quarter. The Devils led at one point by 10-4. Then, Beatrice used sure ball handling and hard driving to pull up and finally went ahead, 12-11, with 1:11 left in the quar ter. They pushed relentlessly to a safe lead, using almost every I'laltsmouth mistake as a point getter. The visitors keot a fast pace and superior manpower told before the game was half ov er. At one stretch in the second and third quarters when they spurted ahead, the visitors made 11 out of 12 shots from the field. Next for the Blue Devils is date Friday at Lincoln North east, followed by games here Feb. 6 against Wahoo and at Nebraska City Feb. 7. Northeast has not been im pressive but has a young ball club that can be tough on any given night. A 6-5 sophomore is NE's big man. Monday, balanced scoring was the victory recipe, Roger Bev erage, Denny Campbell and Ron Adkins all scored 8 and Tom Russell and Fred Groce 6 each for Plattsmouth.
