Fourteen members answered roll call by revealing their se cret pals. Following the business meet ing, Mrs. John Halmes and Mrs. Victor Stoehr gave an interest- j lng study lesson, "Eyes That I See and Ears That Hear." ' The Mosaic Tile lesson will be Jan. 27 at the Gas Co. Lunch was served by the hos 1 tesses. February meeting will be a the home of Mrs. John Parken-Ing. 'Nebraska Belles iAt Tesarek Home Five members attended the Jan. 7 meeting; of Nebraska Belles Extension Club at the home of Mrs. Art Tesarek. The lesson for the month, "Eat a Better Breakfast" was demon, strated by Mrs. Orval Kahler. Next meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Melvin Flint. Topic at the next meeting will be First Aid. PTA Council Regular Meeting PTA Council meeting was held at Central building Jan. 6. Plans were made for "Founders Day" in Februarv. A delegate from each unit is to meet with Mrs. Green for a planning session in advance. Report cards for parents were received. It was decided to have a committee tabulate reports. Johnson of Denver, Colo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Sandra Sue to V. Stuart Niel sen. Miss Johnson, a Junior at Colorado State University, Fort Collins, is majoring in Elementary Education. She is a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Mr. Nielsen is the son of Mayor and Mrs. Or ville V. Nielsen of Aurora. He attended Iowa State College where he majored in Industrial Engineering and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. Mr. Nielsen is presently continuing his en gineering studies at Denver University, and is employed by Denver Public Service Co. as Chief Gas Technician. Mrs. Gleason Hosts Gamma Chapter The Gamma Chapter of the Alpha Delta Kappa held their regular meeting at the home of Mrs. Dale Gleason. President Mrs. Lloyd Fitch opened the meeting according to ritual. Chaplain Mrs. Dale Gleason gave the opening pray er. Correspondence was read from the state president urging the chapter to help design the Ne braska Alpha Delta Kappa flag and to assist with the National Convention of the Classroom Teachers in Lincoln Feb. 7. v Plans were made to invite the Sitate president to the February meeting which will be held at the home of Mrs. A. C. McLean. Robert Faris took a group pic ture of the chapter which will be used in state and national i bulletins. Mrs. Katherine Sandin and Margaret Kroese were made National Convention chairmen. The chapter agreed to enter the jingle and song contest and submit favors for the National Convention. The meeting was closed and the group enjoyed slides of Yel lowstone and Teton National Parks shown by Mrs. Dale Glea son and lunch was served by the hostess. The Tri County Lassies met at the home of Velene Stall on Jan. 10. Roll call was answer ed with a prepared food contain ing milk. Velene Stall demonstrated how to make creamed beef on toast; Diana Bray, how to prepare and serve grapefruit; Judy O berle, how to draw threads to straighten material for luncheon cloths and napkins that mem bers are all to make their next project. Members received checked re cord books back from last year. Next meeting will be Feb. 14 at Donna Stall's. There will be a 25 cent Valentine hanky ex change. After the meeting, the Lassies had lunch and games and sang club songs. Velene Stall, reporter. Lauehing Lassies . The Laughing Lassies 4-H Club met at the home of Sandra Meisinger Jan. 10. The meeting was conducted by president Barbara Schneider. Roll call was answered by nam ing a milk drink or a food con taining milk. Members discuss ed egg dishes they are to make by the next meeting. Sandra Meisinger demonstrat ed how to make cocoa. Next meeting will be Jan. 31 at the home of Carolyn Piner. Mrs. Glen Wetenkamo was assistant hos tess. In the absence of the presi dent, Mrs. Fred Arnold conduc ted the business meeting. It was voted to hold a silent auction at the Februarv meeting. Mrs. Roy Cole, assisted by Mrs. Willis Cole presented the lesson, "Understanding Is Bet ter Than Silver." The lesson brought out facts about the Mid dle East which helps us to have a better understanding of these people, their customs and ha bits. A committee consisting of Mrs. Thomas Grosshans. Mrs. Glen Wetenkamo and Mrs. Ar thur Wetenkamp was chosen to make plans for the World Dav of Prayer Feb. 1. Mrs. Royal Smith and Mrs. Willis Cole were chosen to se lect a missionary book for the study course of the organization. The meeting was closed with a poem, "Take Time To Live," read by Mrs. Fred Arnold.
