RAIN DANCES PAY OFF Hopi Reservation, Am. Hopi rain dancers batted 1,000 during a recent ceremony. They staged ancient rites for rain at three Hopi villages. A majority service was held for Jean Domingo Thomassen. Following the meet ing Kay Clark, Jeri Michelsen and Bonnie Noble conducted games. Serving at the tea table were Roberta Knaup and Jean Thomassen. Mrs. R. P. Hobson, mother advisor, presented each girl a Bible bookmark. Mr. and Mrs. Garnold Muhr and family of Krebs, Okla., and Ruth Atterbury of Illinois were guests for several days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Upton and family. Monday eve ning several families from the Christian church gathered at the Upton home and Mr. Muhr show ed a film from the American Sunday School Union. Mr. Muhr is a missionary in Oklahoma and with the help of his wife they have organized Sunday schools in towns where there were none. Pvt. Leon Fitzpatrick who has been visiting Mrs. John Fitz Patrick and Mr. and Mrs. Rob ert Renner has been transfer red to San Antonio. Tex. He re ported to this base Jan. 5. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Reed of Ashland were New Year's day dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs Charles Freeman. The two cou pies celebrated their 19th wed ding anniversary and Mrs Reed's birthday. The couples were married 19 years on Dec. 28. Mrs. Art Meeske entertained a few friends at a luncheon on Tuesday in honor of Mrs. Fred Klepser who left for California. The afternoon was spent socially.
