The Fairview Woman's Club met Dec. 18 with Mrs. Skyle Mil ler Jr., and was an all day meet ing. Officers elected were: pres ident, Mrs. Lucy Mendenhail; vice president, Mrs. Letitia Mil ler; secretary, Mrs. Howard Mil ler; reporter, Mrs. W. Menden hail; music leader, Mrs. Skyle Miller Jr. Next meeting will be with Mrs. Donald Fredenburg Jan. 15. The Brownies met at the Me thodist Church. Program was on Table Habits. "Do good" bees were Evelyn Miller, Wanda Ham, Ruth Ann Fischer, and Mary Ann Turner. "Don't" Bees were Linda Pool, Bette Ann Fleisch man, Joan Rueter and Judy Casteel. The Brownies next meeting was a Christmas party. Carols were sung and games played. Treats were served by Evelyn Miller. Secty., Ruth Ann Fis cher. Wednesday afternoon was an exciting time for the small fry for as usual the town treated them to a nice bag of candy, peanuts and an orange. The firemen had charge of it and helped Santa with the whole af fair. Mr. and Mrs. Herold Kreck low, Dale and David attended the Krecklow Christmas dinner at the Robt. Wiles home near Weeping Water. Dudley Leavitt ate Christmas eve dinner at the Roy Rhoden home. The Rhoden's spent Christmas day at her brother's, the Wm. H. McBride home in Alvo. Mrs. Stella McLaughlin had all of her children came to spend Christmas day with her. They are Howard McLaughlin, Mer lin Peterson family, Dale Mc Laughlin family, Robt. McLau ghlin family and the DeLor Swartz family. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Buell, were happy Christmas Day when their son, Nobel telephoned them from Washington, D. C, where they now reside, to wish them a happy day. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Rose now and the Lester Rosenow family motored to Clay Center, Kansas last Tuesday to see Ferd Rosenow who is ill and to visit with other Kansas relatives. They returned the same day. Christmas guests at the Les ter Rosenow home were Mr. and Mrs. Edw. Rosenow and from Murdock, Frank and Willard Rosenow. Dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Bronn on Christmas day were Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Bronn, Perry and Stephen of Bennet, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Streick, Ramona and Clayton of Murdock; Mr. and Mrs. Robert James and Jef frey of Lincoln and Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Vogler of Lincoln. The Chester Irons family were all together for Christmas at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brown of Omaha. They are Mr. and Mrs. Chester Irons and the Don Hoffman family of Elm wood, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Irons of New Franklin, Mo., Ron nie Irons of Palistine, Tex., and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Irons of Weeping Water. On Sunday the 28th all were at the Chester Irons home. The Walter Stubbendeck fam ily spent Christmas at the home of her mother, Mrs. Laura Sto vall. Christmas day guests at the Richard Pratt home were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Arnold, the Le Roy cook family of Tecemah, the Wm. Striek family of Mur dock and from Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Capwell, Miss Hat tie Coe and Miss Harriet Arnold. Those coming to spend Christ mas with their mother, Mrs. Rhetta Hulfish were Herold Hulfish from Va., Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hulfish of Lincoln and Mrs. Belle Coakley of Elmwood. Herbert who makes his home with his mother was present, too. The annual Drake reunion was held Sunday, Dec. 21st at the Community bldg. with 105 present. They came from Kan sas, Missouri, Iowa and Nebras ka. After the basket dinner the older ones played basket ball against the younger ones. Fol lowing a program Santa appear ed. In the evening Mr. and Mrs. I Dick Thomas arrived from Cal- ifornla. They were married last i month. She is the former Shar on Abrams and graduated from Elmwood H. S. Sunday guests at the George j Blessing home were her brother and family the Kendall Kitzel's! of Fairbury, two daughters, Mr. j and Mrs. Art Norris and Kathy of Avoca and Mr. and Mrs. Al len Ehlers and Debra of Weep-: ing Water. Mr. and Mrs. Will Rueter had all their children home for i Christmas. The Alvin Rueter and Paul Ruet-er families of Murdock, Clarence's of Elmwood, the Henry Trutna family of Wa hoo and the Dick Trutna fam ily of Murdock. Also present was Mrs. Rueter's sisster, Miss Lena Rieke. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hanson are on a trip by auto to California. Mrs. Hansen secured Mrs. Mar tin Zoz to substitute in the Dr's. office. Friends here learn of the mar riage of Clark Marshall to a Nebraska City girl, Miss Pone lope Harms. Clark is In the air force near Denver and the wed ding took place there. Clark is a graduate of Elmwood High School. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Hill drove to Falls City last Wednes day to spend Christmas with their son Jim and family. They returned Saturday. Mrs. J. F. Mills and Dave of Murdock called at the Ebeler Home last week to visit Mr. Weddle and Mrs. Ida Thimgan. The Don Erikson's of Omaha came to get her mother, Laura Hollenbeck to be their guest on Christmas. Other guests were his parents from Arnold, Nebr. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hall had all their children home on Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Parriott and Charmainc, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hall and Carolyn of Manhattan, Kans., and Mr and Mrs. Marion Wendt. Larry, Cheryl and Patty Born emeier had these guests at their home on Christmas day: Mr. and Mrs. Roy Clark, Mrs. Esther Bornemeier and Nettie, Mrs. Martha Springer and Mr. Lou Hermann. The many friends of theirs purchased a Hi-fi record player and 8 long playing re cords and there was enough left for more records of their own choice. This added much happiness to the Christmas of these children. Look for their card of thanks. Miss Grace Wood was a Christmas day visitor in Weep ing Water at the home of Stan ley Wood and family and Mrs. Alice Wood. Mr. and Mrs. W. Dennis, Terry and Tommy also Mrs. R. M. Dennis and Mrs. Zumbrum were all holiday guests at the Alfred Rase home in Bellevue, Nebr. Mr. andrs. Harold Wilken, Carol and Allen drove to Ithaca Christmas Day to be at her sis ter's, the Virgil Frahm's. Her mother, Mrs. Otto Berlin was al so a guest. A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Kuhlenengel of Syracuse on Dec. 2Gth and has been named Dale Walter. He is the first grandchild for Mr. and Mrs. Walter Oehlerking. The mother was Lila Oehlerking. Guests at the Dick Engels home on Christmas day were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. A. En gels of Auburn and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Reagan of Dawson. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ralliff and boys drove to Shubert, Nebr., to spend Christmas with her sis ter, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Wil liams. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lake were Christmas guests of their son James and family in Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Frohlich were also there. The James Lake family had supper with the Fred Lakes Monday. Christmas guests at the El mer Shreve home were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gonzales and son of Guthrie Center, Iowa. The other daughter and family the Capt. and Mrs. H. C. Reynolds family are leaving Germany Dec. 29th, boarding the "Amer ican". They will have 3 months before locating in California. The small daughter of the Ho ward Vogts had the misfortune to fall from her bicycle break ing bones in one foot. There were 12 families pre sent at the Fred Luetchcns home on Christmas near Mur dock including the Herbert Oehlerking's and the Wm. Vogt's. Guests at the O. P. Cook home on Christmas were Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Turner and Jim of Ashland, Mr. and Mrs. Ro bert Kanike and Kurt of Hold rege, Mrs. Will Cook, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Clements and Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Cook.
