One new member, Dorothy Dittlmore was initiated. " Acknowledgment for the Aux iliary contribution to the (Home on the Range for Boys) project was read by secretary Irene Smith. Also thanks from the Bruce family for the funeral dinner. Co-chairman Marge Willis and Helen Jordan were chosen to take care of contributions for Christmas baskets for the needy. Edith Haley won a years dues and the birthday drawing. Christmas cards from the State officers were received by the Auxiliary. It was decided to postpone the next meeting until Thursday, January 8. After the meeting a Christ mas party was held. Gifts were exchanged and carols were sung. A lunch on beautifully decorat ed tables was served by the en tertainment committee. Eagles Children Holiday Party The Eagles Hall was a festive scene Dec. 19 when the annual Childrens' Christmas Party sponsored by the Aerie and Aux iliary was held. Beginning at 0:30 the families enjoyed a covered dish supper and then a program by the young and wee folk. This was followed by a visit from Santa Clans treats for the children. Bonnie Blue Birds Have Xmas Party The Bonny Blue Birds had their Christinas party Dec. 17 at the home of Mrs. Leon Elliott. Mrs. Elliott read some stories and the girls sang Christmas Ca rols and exchanged gifts. Refreshments were served by Mrs.. Elliott. Mrs. McClanahan and Mrs. Dillon. Dasher entertained the Busy Bluebirds at tea in her home Dec. 20. The table was decorated for Christmas. Christmas cookies, coffee and punch were served. Girls sang carol? and mothers were presented gifts the girls had made. An exchange of gifts for the girls was in the foim of a grab bag. Gifts were received by leader, Mrs. Dasher. Tlie meetings of the past two months were used to get ready for Christmas, making gifts for mothers and fathers and getting a basket ready for a less fortun ate family. Louisville Church Observes Student Recognition Day Student Recognition Day was observed at the Louisville Me thodist Church Dec. 28. Students helping in the. morn ing .service were Carolyn Hen drix (Wesley an i, Sally Wiesneth i Nebraska i John Ahl (Peru), Bill Jardin Omaha , Walter Hut chison (Nebraska) and Henry Alfrcy (Wayne). Other students attending the service were Mr. and Mrs. Ger ald Hirsch (Colorado i, Joyce Ann Welch (Wesleyam, Janet Wright (We.sleyan). The speaker in the morning service was Carol Yasuda, a stu dent at Nebraska Wcsleyan visit ing at the home of Janet Wright. She spoke on her impressions of student life in the United States. The student.! met Sunday evening for a get-together. Both morning and evening programs were sponsored by the WSCS under the direction of Mrs.. Har ry Ahl, .student secretary. There are 17 students attend ing colleges and universities from the local congregation. BIRTHS - Sun Mr. and Mrs. Noah Daniel of McEwen, Tenn., are parents of a son, Gary Neil Daniel, born Dec. 25. Come Ail Yc Faithful To The Inaugural Ball The democratic county cen tral committee has received 43 dancing and 25 spectator tickets to the Nebraska inaugral ball on Thursday evening, January 8th at the Pershing Memorial audi torium, Lincoln. This will be the first democ ratic inaugral ball since 1940 and honors Ralph G. Brooks and Mrs: Brooks on their inaugral. Tickets are $2 for dancers and $1 for spectators at this gala occasion. The director was David L. Mul lin, assisted by Truman Lytle. Miss Kathryn Ellis, Arnold Det mer. Maude Baldwin, Mrs. Ly tle and Mrs. Florence Paap al so helped. A pantomime play, "Christmas Windows," was pre sented by the 7th and 8th grad es. The 7th and 8th grade chor us presented a "Christmas Pageant." Mr. and Mrs. Walter Pat ton and Ruth Ann are spending the holidays in California with Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Patton and daughter.
