Gall 202 and 550. In The Service OAHU, T. II. Marine Pvt. Ronald R. Halterman, son of Mr. and Mrs. William II. Halter man of Route 1, Plattsmouth, Nebr. is serving with the Fourth Regiment of the First Marine Corps, Air Station, Oahu, T. H. The regiment conducted a ma jor field exercise Dec. 15-19 on, the northeastern tip of the Is land of Oahu. Terrain in the maneuver area ranges from rugged mountains to lush valleys covered with dense .sub-tropical growth. The regiment's mobile capabilities were put to the test since the lava soil is soft, often muddy and the hills steep with footing un certain. Main purpose of the exercise was to allow Marines to employ all their tactical weapons includ ing artillery, lifjht crew-served weapons, and helicopters. Admiral Arleigh A.
