Henry Knaups Observe 25th Anniversary WEEPNG WATER (Special- A large crowd of friends and relatives were in attendance at the 25th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Knaup Sunday afternoon at the Weep ing Water Christian Church. Htnry Knaup and Miss Gene Ola Fitch were married July 22. 1933, at the home of her parents In Elmwood. Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Fitch. They have two children, Rodney and Roberta. The church was beautifully decorated with flowers from the couple's friends, among them 3 baskets of glads from the Weep ing Water Garden Club and the Christian Builders Sunday Sch ool Class. The serving was done from a flower and crystal dec orated table. Mrs. LeRoy Zessin and Mrs. B. A. Olive poured and Mrs. R. P. Ilobson and Mrs, Leo Christensen served the cake. Mrs. John Rieke and Mrs. Ral ph Lindsey were in charge of the dining room, assisted by Mrs. Ed Van Horn, Mrs. Lynn Rothe, Mrs. William Klemme and Mrs. Dorothy Shrader. Mrs. Mabel Breckenridge and Mrs. Cyrus Livingston were in charge of the guest book and Mrs. Charles Freeman and Mrs. Ray Fillers were at the gift table. Mrs. Ed Freeman and Mrs Victor Plunkett Jr. were in charge of the kitchen assisted by members of the senior CWF. A musical program was given during the afternoon. Miss Rob erta Knaup and S. II. Harmon sang accompanied by Mrs. Har mon who also played a piano so lo. The Farmeraires quartet of Eagle, John Ronhovde, Melvm Adams, Albert Francke and Ho ward Root sang several selec tions. Victor Schwarz, minister cf the church, spoke. Guests were from Lincoln, Humboldt. Rulo, Eagle, Ashland, Elmwood, Murdock, Louisville, Nehawka and Avoca and Weep ing Water. The couple arc planning a November wedding. Picnic Held At Verncr Held Home A picnic dinner was held Sun day at the Verner Hild home honoring Pvt. Lyle Hild who is home on a 14-day leave from the service. Guests came with picnic bas kets and the afternoon was sp ent visiting, playing horseshoe and cards. Mr. Wilmer Kindall of Glen wood Springs, Colo., was best man for his brother. Mr. Evand Kindall of Glenwood Springs was usher as was Evan Kindall of Minneapolis, Kan., a cousin. Mr. and Mrs. Kindall left on a short honeymoon trip return ing Tuesday and with her son, Craig Kaffenberger departed for their new home at 313 South Wisconsin St., Gunnison, Colo. Attending the wedding from a distance were Miss Carolyn Kin dall, Wilmer Kindall, Evand Kin dall of Glenwood Springs; Evan Kindall of Minneapolis, Kan.; Mrs. Louisia Coonfield, Mrs. Ella Moore and George F. Moore of Shattuck, Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. John Weiland of Piedmont, S.D. Returns From Trip To The Southwest Mr. and Mrs. Clement Woster and daughters. Prlscilla, Debor ah and Dorothy, have returned from a very pleasant motor trip to the west coast and the south west part of the United States, They enjoyed a three weeks visit at the home of Lt. and Mrs. J. D. Colling and family at Oceanside, Calif. Mrs. Colling is the former Clementine Woster and the family are residing at Oceanside while Lt. Colling Is attached to the medical staff at the Marine Base at Fort Pendel ton, Calif. The Wosters took trips to most of the national parks in the southwest including the Grand Canyon of the Colorado, Zlon and Bryce parks in Utah and Mesa Verde park in Colorado. The trip covered some 6,000 miles and through eleven states. Marriage Of Leola Harter July 17 Announced WEEPING WATER (Special) Mr. and Mrs. Owen Harter of WeeDing Water announce the wedding of their daughter, Leola, to John Merrick of Auburn Ju ly 17 in the Lutheran parsonage at Louisville. Rev. Lyle Muel ler of the Weeping Water Luth eran Church performed the cer emony. Mrs. Raymond Knott of Weeping Water and Mrs. Lyle Mueller were the attendants. Miss Harter was attired in a cream colored dress with white designs which she made her self. Mr. and Mrs. Owen Har ter and Lorejtta attended the wed din g . Mrs. Merrick is employed in Omaha and Mr. Merrick is with the United Mineral Limestone Co., Weeping Water. They will live in Weeping Water. Curvy Stitchers At Hostetter Home MURRAY (Special) The Curvy Stitchers 4-H club met at the home of Wanda and Linda Hostetter Julv 16 with leader June Hostetter and assistant leaders Betty Campbell and Dor othy Splitt present. Meeting was called to order by president Wanda Hostetter. Lesson was "Making a Laun dry Bag." The Curvy Stitchers attended a 4-H roller-skating party which was held at Elmwood Wednes day evening. Good Time was had by all. Next meeting will be at the home of Donna Campbell July 23. reporter, Marlene West. Doris Taylor, Lloyd Lewis Wed At Alvo Church ALVO (Special) June 20 at the Alvo Methodist Church, Miss Do ris Taylor, daughter of Mrs. Ruth Tavlor of Lincoln, became the bride of Lloyd E. Lewis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Lew is of Wauneta. Te bride wore a princess style ballerina length embroidered or gandy dress with a short veil. She carried a bouquet of white roses and a white bible. The maid of honor was Miss Betty Smith of Lincoln. Robert Watkins of Lincoln was best man. Lighting the candles was Car olyn Vincent, Alvo and Hope Taylor of Wahoo. Seating the guests were Jim and Kenneth Lewis of Wauneta. brothers of the groom. Officiating was Rev. Leslie Drake of Pavnesville, Minn., for mer student pastor of Alvo. Mrs. Max Reed sang with Mrs. Carl Sutton accompanying on the organ. Following a wedding trip to Colorado the couple will live in Lincoln. The Alvo WSCS served refresh ments of punch and cake at the reception following the ceremony in the basement of the church. Visitors Here At Hetrick Home Vi iting over the weekend un til Monday with Mrs. Sybil Het rick was her niece, Mrs. Ray Culley, Mr. Culley and children, John and Nita, of Concorida, Kans. Sunday callers at the Het rick home were Mr. and Mrs. Al bert Brown and three children of Alma. The Browns were Plattsmouth residents nine years ago. They drove here Sunday from their home in Lincoln for church ser vices at the Christian Church, and renewed old acquaintances. Hohman Family Holds Picnic At Nebraska City Mr. and Mrs. Len Hohman and children, Shelly, Jeff and Greg of Monrovia, Calif., have been visiting with relatives in the eastern portion of Nebraska have new returned to the west coast home. A family picnic was held at Riverview park at Nebraska City Sunday. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hohman, Manley, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Hohman, and Pattie, Lincoln; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hohman and family, Platts mouth; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hohman and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hohman and fam ily, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schre pel and Scott and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Glockel of Omaha. Sewing Susies Model Aprons June 18 the Sewing Susies mod eled their aprons for the Social Flower Workers Club at the home of their leader, Mrs. Stan ley Lepert. Our president, Marilyn Mohr, opened the program by telling some of the goals of the 4-H club and about their project, "Let's Sew." Dorothy Lepert played the Swiss Waltz on the piano. Rob erta Ramge played the piano while each girl modeled her a pron and our junior leader, Di ana Wiles, described the aprons. As a group they sang the Six Little Ducks and gave the 4-H pledge. Our members are Mar ilyn Mohr, Sharlene Kahler, Rob erta Ramge, Dorothy Lepert, Vickie and Linda Lepert and Mary Kay Peterson. The 4-H girls served the lunch. There were 18 members of the Social Flower Workers Club and three guests present. Mrs. Stanley Lepert, Mrs. Or val Kahler and Diana Wiles, the leaders, took the irls on a tour of Nebraska City July 10. They visited Morton House, school for the blind and had a picnic lunch at Arbor Lodge Park. In the afternoon, they visited a department store and John Brown Cave. On the way home they stop ped at the Wayside Gardens near Murray. Guests were Pamela Williams and Mrs. Philip Lepert. report er, Roberta Ramge. Gradoville left Monday morning on his tour of Korea. Mrs. Gradoville and son. Ste phen, will remain at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Grad oville of this city, the captain's parents, until September. The younger Mrs. Gradoville plans going to England until the Captain returns in about one year. Hoist Family At Sedlak Home Mr. and Mrs. Ivan C. Hoist and children, Mike and Debbie of Lakewood. Calif., arrived Wednesday morning to spend 10 i days at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Sedlak. They will also be guests of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Schumaker.
