Neil Johnson was dri ving the tractor. Mrs. Rawalt has been In Oma ha several times this past week visiting her sister, Mrs. Ams baugh, who was 111. Mra. Nancy Carsten Is in Bry. an Memorial Hospital , Lincoln for treatment. She was also giv en a blood transfusion on Satur day. The Lions Club met at the cafe for supper Tuesday evening. Plans were made for a steak fry in the near future. Mr. and Mrs. John Stubben dick left Saturday morning for Marcellus and Scaneatales, New York, where they will visit their two daughters and families. A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ron Wenninghoff at Paw nee City hospital, July 18. Ma ternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lenord Nutzman, Unadil la; great grandmother, Mrs. John Nutzman, Avoca; Mrs. Ma ry Mayer, Syracuse. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Wenninghoff, Syracuse. Roll call, "Never a dull moment in my garden". Mrs. William Kepler gave the lesson on gardening. Miss Bertha Neu meister spoke on "Some plants look to you for support." There was an iris exchange. Mrs. Lynn Hoback presented each member with an iris root. The Sunday evening dessert Club met with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dankleff. Prizes at cards to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Straub and Mrs. Anthony Wirth. Friends received word of the death of Mrs. W. Fager, Lincoln. She was struck by a car near her home Sunday and passed away several hours later. She formerly lived near Avoca in the Pine School community and survived by her husband and four children. This was a. birthday dinner for Roy Ruhge and Glen Place. A group of ladies of the Gol den Rod Garden Club attended the glad show in Lincoln Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hallstrom and children of Omaha recently returned from a visit to Wash ington, D. C, where he was a delegate from Nebraska to re present the association of Health, Recreation and Physical Educa tion. Before they came home they visited relatives in Florida. Mrs. James Mead attended a cradle shower at Union Saturday honoring Mrs. Buck Jones of Au burn who is a granddaughter. ASHLAND - Mrs. Ivan Armstrong Charles and Mary Ann Stan der, Marvin and Carol Ann Mil ler and Roger Hammer left on Monday for a 4-H camp at Sew ard this week. Lynn Humston honored his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Delbcit Humston on their 22nd wedding anniversary Friday by taking them to dinner at a restaurant. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Humston of Murdock called on them that evening. Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Ha ase, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Long and family and Mr. and Mrs. Leon ard Roeber and sons enjoyed a picnic at Capitol Beach Sunday.
