Mrs. Helen Guthrie of Denver visited at the Hubert Bishop home for a weekend. This oast Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. R. Wise and two sons of Lincoln were dinner guests of the Bishops In honor of Jessie Bragg and sister Mrs. Oral Ashman of Hu ron, S. I)., 16 of their old frhmds gathered at the home of Mrs. Emily Gonzales to visit. They had been in Louisville to visit man (Lettiel also Mrs. Alpha" Bennet of Alvo. Their driver was Hazel Billows of Raymond. Ralph Young of O'Nell was a visitor at the home of Maude and Jessie Creamer, his cous ins Monday. He attended the fu neral services of Mrs. Ray Eid- enmilier. Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Creamer entertained all for dinner, including Mr. Fred Creamer of Waverly. Relatives who came to attend the funeral services of Mrs. AI- lie Eidenmiller July 1 were Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Serk and Lloy dene of Denver, Colo., Mr. and Mrs. Bob Moore of O'Ncil; Mr. and Mrs. Allie Dimmitt of Long their sister, Mrs. Walter Stohl-1 Beach, Calif .; Mr. and Mrs. Sam Kelly of Fnirview, Nebr.; Max ine Eidenmiller, Lincoln; Mr. Burton Eidenmiller, Bellevue, Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Eiden miller, Weeping Water and Mr. and Mrs. Noel Manners of Oma ha. All were dinner guests at the George Eidenmiller home. Also present were their two dau ghters and families. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Gard. Gregg, David and Kristie of Overton, Nebr. and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Clark Robby and Randy, who are just moving here into the Quellhorst house, from Delta, Colo. Mrs. Elda Lenz returned Fri day evening from Culbertson where she attended the EUB conference as delegate, Rev. Dinner guests Thursday at the Harry Arnold home Were Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Cook, Mary Marnaret and Billy of Tekamah, Nebr. They also called at the Ted Hall home. On Saturday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Win. Striok, Arlene. Kathy and Dale were dinner Ruests at th.- Ar nold home Walter Oehlerkinn. Jr., had the misfortune of getting in jured while working with his combine. It came down on his leg, breaking it. He is in the hospital doing as well as can be expected. Mrs. Minnie Rosenkoetter is able to be at her own home again after spending- a few days at her daughter, Vera Oehlcr- kinp's home. Mrs. Fred Engleking under went surgery Saturday morning for gallstones at the Bryan Hos pital. The Glenn Nicklas family ar rived July 3rd at the Helen Schneider-Mary Williams home for a week's visit. Mr. Nicklas will attend a 4 day convention in Lincoln. Their home is at Curtis where he teaches Vocat ional Agriculture. Holiday weekend guests at the Orville Lenz home were her bro ther and family, the Paul Pet erson's from Kansas City and her sister, Mary Ann Peterson from Denver. Colo. Mrs. Clarence Schlanker Is in Bryan Hospital taking tests and for observation, also x-rays. She entered the hospital last Tues day. Dr. and Mrs. Bert L. Story left Lincoln Monday night for N. Y. where they will sail for Europe the 10th and will be gone until Sept. 18th. Dr. Story is the Elm wood Methodist minis ter. Rev. Don Sporer, a senior at Nebraska Wesleyan will be the supply minister. Quite a number of people en joyed the Watchman Male Quartet and their accompan ist at the Christian Church last Sunday evenng. They will return July 20 to hold 2 weeks of evan gelistic meetings. Mrs. Bertha Ostertag reached her 92nd birthday Monday, July 7th. She was a guest at her daughter's home on Sunday, the H. L. Bornemeiers. Other guests were their son, Richard and fam ily of Hastings. Children are Tommy and Barbara Ann. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Juilfs, Mrs. Emily Gonzales and Mrs. Ruth Monning attended the fu neral services of Mrs. William Straube at the Lutheran church in Burr, Nebr.; Monday, July 7th. Mrs. Straube was a sister of the late Henry Monning. She was 80 years old and was the last remaining one of the family. She leaves her husband Wm, and son, Paul Straube and three grandchildren. A 7 '2 pound daughter was born Sunday to Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Lyle of Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. Herold Krecklow are the grandparents here and Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Lyle of Rockmart, Ga. Ronnie Irons drove to Pales tine, Tex., where he is assistant minister. He will enter the Seminary of TCU, Fort Worth, Tex., this fall. Norman Irons and wife are located at New Franklin, Mo., where he is minister. They will both attend school this fall at Columbia. Mo. Fred Mueller of Atlantic, Iowa, and his cousin, the former Clara Mueller of Springfield, were call ing on old friends here Saturday I having resided here as young people. They called on the Ralph Greenes, Grace Wood, the Will Strabels and the Clements fam ilies who were at South Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hanson visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Strabel. Mr. Hanson is a cousin of Mrs. Strabel. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Fleish man of Ashland, were Sunday dinner guests at his brother's, the Charlie Fleishmans. NEWS FROM EAGLE Mrs. John Fischer Phone 7304 Mr. and Mis. Donald Umland and two children of Grenada Hills, Calif., visited his father, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Umland and relatives, returning hump last Thursday evening. On Sunday a family dinner was enjoyed at the patents' home for the visit ing guests and Mrs. Uml.tnd's daughter and family, carl John son Jr's. of Alvo, Nebr., were also present. Donna Stall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilber Stall visited with her uncle. Mr. and Mrs Or ville D. Bocennef and f:imilvi at Lincoln during the week. Virginia Jones of Berkeley, Calif., enroute to the east coast, stopped over at Eagle Sunday morning and attended the Eagle Methodist church services at 11 a. m. Mr. and Mrs. Harry West of Lincoln, were riinn Mrs. Laura West, last Friday, and all enjoyed the reminiscing of the guests recent trip to San Francisco. Calif., where they visited relatives. David Mack, son of Mrs. Etho Mack, accompanied his neighbor and moving van driver with a load ot turniture to Florida. The M .Y. F. young folks and the Adults as well have planned a picnic next Sunday P. M. at Pioneer Park and remain for the music presentation "The De sert bong" at Pinewood Bowl. Kaymarie Swarts rtrturned home last Wednesday morning from the National Convention, Biloxi, Miss., at the the Buena Vista Hotel resort. The group of six girls in the party were all members of the Sigma Kappa Sorority from C n aha and Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. L. K. Swarts, Kaymarie and Kem and Ray mond Althouse, were supper gu ests at the Wayne Swarts home in Ashland, Nebr., Friday eve ning, afterwhich, they attended the fireworks display in Ash land. The American Legion Auxil iary members met on Monday evening with co-hostesses Mmes. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Fleish man visited their daughter at Weeping Water after she return ed from a week in the hospital. She is Mrs. Don Wiles. Guests of Mrs. Lillie Reber were her grandson, Ronald Sch lichtemeier and family from Thursday until Monday. Her daughter, Gladys 'Sehlichte meier was here and will be here another week. They all reside at St. Louis, Mo. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gerbeling, Sandra and Carol of Lincoln came to his mother, Mrs. Cora Gerbeling and aunt,.
