After a motor trip to Florida thry came to Omaha where they were honored at a reception Ri ven at the home of the bride groom's parents. Following the reception they left for Mixlco City and Aleapuleo where they will spend three weeks. Lt. Nierste, a former resident of Plattsmouth, Is a jet pilot in the U. S. Air Force and after July 13, the couple will reside in Laredo, Tex., where the Lieu tenant will be stationed for three years as a jet pilot instructor. Local Ladies Cited For Volunteer Work Receiving pins for 50 hours of volunteer service at the Veter ans Hospital in Omaha were the following American Legion Aux iliary members: Mrs. Fred Hea, Mrs. John Kalasek and Mrs. Harold Alkire. The pins were given by the American Legion Auxiliary De partment of Nebraska and pre sented by Mrs. Don Warga, hos pital chairman. Chapeau Mrs. Oliver Schiber presided over the bus iness meeting. T. B. Seal Chairman for 1957, Mrs. John Schutz reported she had received $1251.43 for the sale of seals, this being her final report. Mrs. Schutz thank ed the members for the cards sent her when she sprained her ankle. Mrs. Joe Zastera resigned as Seal Chairman and Mrs. Sophia Wolever was selected to fill the post with the approval of the County T. Ii. Association. Names of three prospective members was presented and voted upon. They will be initi ated at a later date. The money was used for a play pen and sand pile, an overnight case and hou secoat for a child coming to Omaha for surgery. Mrs. Charles Atteberry chair man of the County Red Cross Bloodmobile reported on the con ference held in Tecumseh, Nebr., Friday. Mrs. Atteberry asked the members V any of them were interested in being chairman for Plattsmouth as the Bloodmo bile will be in Plattsmouth in August. Mrs. Eugene Vroman, Mrs. John Schutz and Mrs. Fred Feldhou sen presented their report and the following officers were elec ted to serve for the next year. Merry Workers Celebrate 35th Anniversary An afternoon tea marked the 35th anniversary of the Merry Workers Extension Club at the Mynard Community Center. Ma ny past members and friends were present to enjoy a short program and a time for visiting Mrs. Fred Beins welcomed the group and presented Mrs. Ed Ruffner, charter member, with ?. corsage in behalf of the club. The club history was read by Mrs. Carl Kraeger. Guests were entertained with dancing by Pamela Womach and a vocal duet by the Misses Beverly Harris and Minnie Fra zier, accompanied by Mrs. John Ahrens. A review of the book. ''Don't Eat the Daisies." was given by Mrs. Earl Horton of Elmwood. An 8 o'clock candelight cere mony in the Elmwood Metho dist Church united in marriage Janice Messelhiser, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Messelhiser of Lincoln and Harland Nee mann. The bridegroom is the son of Fred Neemann. Sr.. and the late Mrs. Neemann of Palmyra. The double ring ceremony was performed by Dr. Bert L. Story of Lincoln. Mrs. Dwight Clements, Elm wood, was organist and Bob Mc-Mef:-n of Lincoln sang. The bride appeared in a white floor-length gown of rose point lace and nylon tulle over satin, featuring a sheet yoke and man darin neckline trimmed with sequins and seed pearls. The v-shaped bodice fanned into an extreme full skirt and was ac cented with a deep lace motif. Her double tiered veil fell to fingertip length from a half hat of lace accented with se quins and pearls. She carried a white Bible and white roses. Shirley Messelhiser, sister of Descendants Of John Henry Wiles Meet For Reunion The third annual reunion of the John Henry Wiles family was held June 22 at Dodge Park in Council Blutfs. la., with a members and 4 visitors present. Presiding officers were Louie Beckman, president, Council Bluffs; John Wiles, Plattsmouth vice president and Leone Tilson, Plattsmouth, secretary and trea surer. Hazel Wiles offered the open ing prayer. The oldest member present was Garland Tilson of Murray youngest was Becky Edwards, daughter of Staff Sgt. and Mrs. Herb Edwards of Offutt Air Base. New officers were elected as follows: Robert Tilson. Platts mouth, president; Bill Beckman Council Bluffs, vice president; and Leone Tilson, Plattsmouth. secretary and treasurer. The fourth annual reunion will be held June 28, 1959 at Platts mouth Garfield Park. Marie Beckman displayed a scrapbook of past reunions and a note was written to Pvt. John Beckman, an absentee due to military service at Camp Car son, Colo. A very pleasant afternoon was had by all. Some participated in a ball ame, pitching horse shoes the amusement rides at Play land, taking pictures and visit ing. We were dismissed by Herb Edwards. Leave For Visit To The Southland Mr. and Mrs. James of Jonesboro, S. C, who Reno have been visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rhoades. de parted Sunday for their home in the southland. They were ac companied by Mr. and Mrs. Rhoades, parents of Mrs. Reno, who are going to Houston, Tex., to visit another daughter. The Renos will go on to their home in South Carolina from Houston. Enjoy Vacation At Fort Worth, Texas Mr. and Mrs. C. E .Markham and children. Donald, Fred and Patty are enjoying a vacation over the 4th of July at Fort Worth, Tex. Mr. Markham has a position as engineer on a large project near that city and is to have a short vacation during the coining weekend. He thus took his family with him to Texas. Mrs. Markham and the chil will return home to Platts mouth at the weekend. Lighting the tapers were Mar lyn Neemann and Herbert Nee mann of Palmyra. The reception in the church parlors followed the ceremony with Mrs. Robert Bornemeier in charge. For the couples' honeymoon trip to Pennsylvania and Wash ington D. C, the bride chose an aoua linen suit with white! accessories. After returning from their trip they will reside in Lincoln. Ladies Aid Has Monthly Meeting The Ladies Aid Society of the Christ Lutheran Church. Platts-mouth-Louisville Road, held its monthly meeting Wednesday as a majority of the members were president. Hostesses were Mrs. A. B. Lentz and Mrs. Phillip H?n nings, Louisville. Devotions were read by Mrs. Arthur Hild. She selected her to pic from Vision: Proverb 20:18 and 1st Samuel 3:1. A pro-1 gram followed with piano so-j los by the following: j Elaine Stohlman, daughter of' Mr. and Mrs. August Stohlman; Carol Gardner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gardner; Don-: na Mayfield, daughter of Mrs.1 Val Mayfield; Connie Meising-: er, daughter of Mrs. Gerald Meisinger, and Valene Albert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Albert. A tap and acrobatic number by Theresa Engelkemcier, dau ghter of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Engelkemeier and a vocal solo by Mrs. Wayne Meisinger were also enjoyed. The Aid president, Mrs. Fred Wehrbein, announced the pro gram, also welcomed the many guests. Refreshments were served the tables decorated with white clothss, red roses and silver ribbon streamers. After the meeting and lesson the girls in the skirt and blouse division modeled their skirts and blouses. The tea table was all arrang ed by the girls. The center piece was a crocheted swan. Ostcrholm' Honored On Birthday Sunday, June 22nd marked the birthday anniversary of O. C. Ostcrholm, veteran Glenwood newspaper man, who was for merly engaged with the Jour nal. On this happy occasion eight of the nine children of Mr. and Mrs. Osterholm were assemb led for a family dinner. To add to the pleasure of all of the fam ily, the one (laughter absent, Mrs. Louis Niederberger of St. Charles. Mo., called by telephone to wish the father many happy returns. A grandson. Auxiliary Hosts Hospital Patients Wednesday afternoon four members of the Plattsmouth American Legion Auxiliary were at the Veterans Hospital in Oma ha where they gave a birthday party for the patients. All patients were invited to the recreation room where the table was set up to serve the birthday cake and coffee. Gifts were presented to all patients having birthdays. Pat ients unable to leave their room were given gifts in their room. Putting on the party was Miss Ida Pat.ton, Mrs. Eugene Vro man, Mrs. Glenn McClure and Mrs. Donald Warga.
