Recently a list of 15 proposed projects were given club mem bers for vote on the three each member considered most worthy of club sponsorship. The recreation area was first by a wide majority, Steve. Davis, club member who conducted the vote, reported Tuesday noon. Two thirds of the members list ed this as first choice. A Dutch Elm Disease control program ranked second and development of a scenic drive to the game-refuge recreation area on the Missouri River bottom was third choice in the voting. Davis said poll results will be turned over to the club board of directors. Also at Tuesday's meeting, the club had a look at Mexico City from a student's view. Speaker was Barney Eiting, student home from the School of Internation al Relations at Mexico City Col lege. He said unity of the western hemisphere is vital in counter acting Communism and improv ed understanding between the United States and Mexico and Latin America are important to western unity. Eiting said every American when he leaves his country to go anywhere, including to Mex ico, should become a "good-will ambassador" and try to under stand the people and cultures of the places he visits. He said he thought much of the misunderstanding many A mericans have about Mexicans stems from lack of knowledge. He said the "tourist's view" of Mexico is "one-sided'' and one has to live with the people to understand them. Eiting was introduced by his father, B. H. G. Eiting, Ro tarian who was program chair man for the day. L. A. Caldwell, vice president, presided at the meeting.
