Phone 4812 Murray 57-2tc Legal Notices (iRi)iXAxn: n n;7 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N O. 765 O F PLATTSMOUTH, NEBRASKA; PROVIDING FOR THE ADMIN ISTRATION OF THE SANI TARY SEWER SYSTEM AND SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF PLATTSMOUTH; DEFINING THE POWER AND DUTIES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS WITH RESPECT TO SEWERS AND SEWAGE TREAT MENT FACILITIES; PROVID ING FOR THE CREATION OF A SEWER FUND AND THE SE GREGATION OK SAID FUND FROM OTHER F UNDS OF SAID CITY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE AND RE PEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES THAT CONFLICT THEREWITH. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLATTS MOUTH, NEBRASKA: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 765 of the City of Platts mouth, Nebraska as amended be and the same is hereby amend ed by inserting the following provisions immediately follow ing Section 4 of said ordinance and preceding Section 5 there of: SECTION 4 a. In addition to all powers and duties herein granted or imposed on the board of Public Works by Ordinance No. 765 as amended, said Board shall have the full power and complete control, charge and management of the Sanitary Sewer System and any sewage treatment facilities or plant now owned or hereafter to be constructed or acquired by the City of Plattsmouth. For pur poses of this ordinance sanitary sewers shall include any sewers which carry liquid or solid waste sewage, or a combination of such sewage and stormwatcr. Said Board shall collect all sewer connection fees other than those specifically assessed or allocated to sewer district funds by other ordinances, and any sewer rental or use fees which may hereafter be imposed or levied, and in addition there to the Board shall be entitled to reimbursement from any sewer maintenance taxes collected by said city for expenses incurred by the Board of Public Works in the maintenance, repair, or op eration of such sanitary sewer system. The Board of Public Works shall exercise the powers conferred by law upon such cities for the supervision and government of sewers and se wage treatment plants to the extent and in the same manner and under the same restrictions as the City Council would do if no such Board existed, except however the said Board of Pub lic Works shall not make any expenditures or contract any in debtedness other than for or dinary expenses exceeding the amount of $1,000.00 without ob taining the approval of the City Council; said Board of Public Works shall be required to re port to the City Council the receipts and expenditures from the sewer fund at the end of each six (6) months period and shall have the charge and cus tody of all books and property and assets belonging and ap pertaining to said plant and system. Said Board shall exer cise other powers and perform such other duties in the super intendence of said sewer system as may be prescribed by ordin ance and said Board shall make all necessary regulations for the government of said sewer sys tem of said city as are not in consistent with the general laws of the State of Nebraska or the ordinances of said city. A separate record shall be kept under the supervision of said Board of all monies paid into its sewer fund and of all expendi tures therefrom, and all funds received or paid out by said Board in connection with sewer maintenance or sewer service shall be kept in a separate fund and shall not be comingled with any funds or accounts maintain ed by said Board in connection with its supervision of the water system of said City. The Board of Public W'orks shall, by its superintendent or other duly designated employee, be charged with the duty of in specting all sewer connections which may be imposed by any other ordinance, of granting all permits for sewer connections which may be required by any other ordinance and in main taining all records in connection with the sewerage system of the city of Plattsmouth which may now be required by law or here after be required and said Board shall from time to time make re commendations to the City of Plattsmouth with respect to the sewer system of said city or sewer treatment facilities, char ges for the use of the same, ex tensions of existing sewer fac ilities and such other matters as may come before it with re spect to the operation of the sewer system of said city. Bonnie was a member of the graduating class this year. Music Parents Club The Music Parents organiza tion met Mav 27. Mrs. Fern Ilia vac, presided. After a lengthy discussion a motion was made and carried that each band mem ber must purchase his own hat and the hat will belong to him, the approximate cost being $4.10. Mr. Sehaumberg announced that the first band concert of the summer season will be June 14 in the evening on the street be tween Krafts and the Louis ville Pharmacy. The members of both the cadet and varsity bands will play. Varsity members must wear their full band uniform and the cadet band will wear jeans, whi te blouses and shirts and the band caps. The meeting was adjourned and no more meetings will be held until September unless there is need for a special meet ing. Bird Forestry 4-H Club The Cedar Creek Bird and Forestry 4-H club met May 24. Classes of trees and types of seed pods were discussed. Nest ing boxes for birds were also discussed. The next meeting will be June 10. Jolly Workers 4-H The Jolly Workers 4-H club met at the home of Patty Ger des May 21. A demonstration was given by Janice Kclley and Linda Inman on how to make oatmeal cookies. The next meet ing will be held at the home of Linda Johnson.
