Hirsch of Louisville, Neb., May 25 at First Presby terian Church in Bristol. Tenn. The bride is the daughter of Mr. nd Mrs. Fred C. Godsey of Bristol, Tenn., and the bride groom is tlie sun of Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Hirsch of Louisville, Neb. Sandra Godsey. twin sister of the bride, was maid of honor. The bridesmaid was Miss Bar bara Godsey, another sister of the bride. Mr. Bruce Hirsch. brother of the groom, was best man. Ushers were David Web ster of Bristol and Mr. Keith Zaharais of New York City. A reception was held in the church parlors. The couple left on a wedding trip to Virginia and will reside at 104 West 70th Street, New York, N. Y. Mrs. Vallery Attends Commencements Mrs. Glen Vallery was in O maha Thursday to attend the 8th grade graduation exercises of Washington School. Her grandson, Kenneth Koop, son of Mr .and Mrs. John Koop, was among the graduating cla.s. Saturday evening Mrs. Vallery attended June Commencement of Central High School of Oma ha. Her grandson, Robert Glen Peterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Peterson, was among the graduating class. Robert Glen has been honored through his high school term, a member of the student council and lettered in Athletics. Hs leaves this coming week for Oahe Dam and area, near Pierre, S. D., where he has accepted a position with the Smithsonian Institute. He will enter the Uni versity of Nebraska this fall. Local Ladies Attend Meeting In Omaha Nebraska Society United Sta tes Daughters of 1812 met Mon day for a noonday luncheon at the Omaha Athletic Club. Mrs. Dale Philpot, State President and Miss Jessie Robertson of this city attended. Mrs. Philpot who was the of ficial delegate to the National Meeting of the Daughters in Washington, D. C, in May gave an interesting report of the con vention. Miss Doris McDowell, Omaha outlined the War of 1812 and Mrs. Thomas Brown spoke of the significance of Fort Mc Henry and the Memorials given by the Daughters. Mrs. Harvey Gamer and Mrs. Mollie Gobelman were unable to attend. Old Time Resident Visits Home Town Mr. and Mrs. Paul Budig of Chicago were here the past week visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. II. Ofe, the latter, sis ter of Mr. Budig. Mr. and Mrs. Budig have just recently return ed from Akron, O., where they visited their son, Ralph and fam ily. Mr. and Mrs. Ofe were in Chicago for a visit and brought Mr. and Mrs. Budig back for a visit. Paul, who has been residing in the Windv City for the past fifty years, found but few of the old friends remaining in the old home town, where for a great many years he made his home. He was engaged in the Cigar I making trade here until moving j to Chicago. I Enroute back to their home they are stopping at Creston, la., to visit a cousin. Mrs. Mae S. Morgan Passes Eighty-Fifth Birthday Sunday Mrs. Mae S. Morgan, resident of Cass County for her younger years, passed her 85th birthday Sunday at her home, 413 North 5th street, Beatrice, where she has been for the past few years. Mrs. Morgan is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Street, for many years residents of Weeping Water, until the family moved to Plattsmouth to make their home. Old friends over the county will recall her and her many ac tivities in education work and social life. Mrs. Morgan devoted her life time to educational work, being a teacher in the Plattsmouth i schools many years. Later in the! Burlington, la., school system.! On her retirement she made herj home here with her sister, the late Mrs. E. H. Wescott until going to Beatrice where she has I resided at the PEO home. I Mrs. Morgan is quite frail but retains her bright mental fae-j ulties and finds her greatest j pleasure in letters from friends and who are urged to drop her a1 message of greeting. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Albert A. Young and Mr. and Mr.s. Albert Allgeier, both of this city. Reverend J. W. Taenzler per formed the 2 o'clock wedding in the presence of 200 guests. Miss Janice Lancaster was or ganist and Miss Mary Ann Ryan, soloist. 1 Ushers were Joe Grauf and Grover Cundall and Donald Freeburg was the best man. The mother of the bride wore a prissy shirtwaist of baby blue dacron; white gloves and a large white hat, navy blue shoes and purse. The mother of the bride groom wore a scoop-necked sheath of beige with brown and gold brocade. Her accessories were of beige. Junior bridemaids were Jurene Kay Young, sister of the bride, and Jerri Ann Allgeier, sister of the bridegroom. They wore identical costumes of pale la vendar organdy and hats with veils of lavendar net. Each wore short white gloves and carried white satin pillows encircled with lavendar pom-poms. Jerri Ann carried the bridegroom's ring and Jurene carried the bride's ring. Miss Rae Mae Henry, who was maid of honor, wore a dress of light medium blue satin backed crystalette. Her dress featured short sleeves, deep V's in back and front bodice and a V in back of the waist which held several folds of skirt to form a bustle back. She wore a headpiece iden tical to that of the junior brides maids. Miss Henry's colonial bouquet was white pom-poms surrounded by lavendar leaves. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a waltz gown of white bridal satin. Her dress featured long tapered sleeves with small self-buttons up the side. The deep V's in the back and front bodice were accented by flowers of iridescent sequins and pearls. The back of her gown was accented with folds of skirt topped with a bustle of white satin. Her veil was held in place by a lace half-hat of iridescent sequins and pearls. WHS Son Mr. and Mrs. Harley F. Heck man are the parents of a 9 pound 2 2 ounce son, born May 10. The Heckmans now reside in Bellevue, formerly of Platts mouth. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Earl L. Ander son formerly of Murray. Son Born to Mr. and Mrs. Harold P. Garen, a 7 Lbs. 14 oz. boy, June 8 at the St. Mary's Hospi tal, Nebraska City. He has been named Harold Eugene. The cou ple has three other children, ! two boys and one girl. Gayle Eaton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Eaton, took her place. The reception, under the di rection of Mrs. D. L. Grove, fol lowed the wedding in the church parlors. At the reception were Carol Avis and Nancy Todd cut ting cake; Jeanie Study serving coffee, Janis Fleischman, Geni Fouts, Mrs. Katherine French, and Mrs. Janice Freeburg help ing with gifts; presiding at the guest book was Mrs. Sharon Cundall. Following a trip to Colorado, the couple will make their home at 105'2 So. 5th Street, Platts mouth. Mr. Allgeier is employed at the Gas Company here in Platts mouth 'and Mrs. Allgeier works for Western Electric in Omaha. Both are graduates of Platts mouth High School. Schreincr Drug Couples Attend Dinner-Dance Party Mr. and Mrs. Bart Scanlan i and Mr. and Mrs. John Stoll j were among those present to a i dinner-dance party at tlie Roof Garden Terrace sponsored by Sidles Company Saturday even ing. Honored were Nebraska and Iowa RCA Whirlpool Dealers and wives who had qualified in a promotion contest. Highlights of the evening were orchid corsages for the ladies, dinner on the terrace and danc ing under the stars to the Jack Ross Orchestra. Out-of-town Guests Picnic Here Mrs. Lutie Markle of Santa Ana, Calif., and friend, Mrs. Marguerite Watson of Sacra mento, Calif., stopped by to visit the Paul Long home on their way from a trip to the deep south. They were guests from Wednesday evening to Friday morning. Mrs. Markle visited the Frank Biles home to see her aunt, Mrs. Drucilla Biles, of this city. Thursday evening a Biles Long reunion picnic supper was held at the Paul Long home. All came with well filled picnic baskets. Colored pictures were taken and pictures shown fol lowing supper. Those present for the happy occasion were Mrs. Ella Land, cousin, of Omaha; Miss Connie Land, David Anderson, Airs. Frank Biles, a cousin, Mrs. Dru cilla Biles, an aunt, Dean Biles, Patty Liddick, Chas. Spence of Missouri; and Mrs. Long and guests of honor, Mrs. Markle and Mrs. Watson. Mr. Long is also a cousin. Several were unable to attend, but all who could, spent a most enjoyable evening. The Sewing Suzys 4-II meet ing was held May 29 at the home of Mary Petersen. In the ab sence of the president, Marilyn Mohr, the vice president, Char lene Kahler, presided. Nearly all the members had their kitchen towels completed. After the business meeting Mary's mother served refresh ments. The next meeting will be June 16th. Roberta Ramge, news re porter. c FOR MILK . . . Local People Have Outing In Minnesota Mr. and Mrs. Louis Keil and and Mrs. Ray Aylor and son re turned late Saturday from an outing in the lake country of Minnesota. They were at Rush lake at the resort owned and operated by Mr. and Mrs. Gus Weiss, former Plattsmouth. residents. While there they called at the camp on Walker lake owned and operated by Mr. and Mr.s. Ed Record, al.o former residents of this locality Mrs. Record being remembered here a the form er Mrs. W. O. Reeves. Rush lake is close to Battle Luke where a number of Platts mouth people maintain summer homes. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Petersen are there now for the .Himmcr and Mr. and Mrs. Henry S!ta?john were also there as were Mr. and Mrs. BUI Knorr. but leaving for home. Mr. and Mis. R. R. Furse also have a cottage at the lakes. The Keils reported weather as chilly with tlie fishing season just getting into a good start and they were able to bring back a fine catch. Murray Woman At Writers Conference Mrs. Will A. Minford, Murray, attended the Midwest Writers Conference held at the Paxton Hotel in Omaha the first week in June. Speakers included Professor Foster Harris of the University of Oklahoma, Virginia Faulkner, editor, University of Nebraska Press, Pro. L. V. Jacks of Cre ighton University, Pro. Ralph M. Wardle, University of Omaha and Fr. R. C. Williams of Creigh ton University. The conference ended with a banquet Sunday night, followed by an interesting round table discussion and question and an swer period. Mrs. Minford writes under the name of Mynell Mc Clure.
