George Stoehr returned home frcm the hospital Sunday. He is feeling quite well after surgery and 9 days hospitalization. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Sticker of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Parcell of Elmwood and Danny Stiffler gathered at the Ervin Albert farm home Sunday for a Dicnic suroer to help Ray cel ebrate his 17th birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Meisinger moved from their farm home to Springfield last week. Mrs. Mei singer will teach there this fall. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Sprieck vi sited at the Elmer and George Stoehr home and called at the Elmer Sprieck home Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Jim Ingran will go to Lincoln Thursday joining Mr. a Mrs. Elmer Brandt to attend the Memorial Day services at Mer na. Bob and Debbie Burbee spent the weekend with their grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Mei singer while their parents had a display of ceramic at the cera mic show at the welfare society hall in Lincoln Saturday and Sunday. Mrs. Burbee won second place in mixed technique with a black matt glazed ash tray bordered with aprjlied grag spangled with eold, silver and bronze category. Her entry in this was a tall turquoise contessa vasa trim med with art dripped gold. Mrs. Burbee's son. Bob, age 6, entered a free hand drawn and painted scene on a plate. He did the entire work himself and won third place in the children under 12 category. The ladies of St. JoseDh Altar Society met last Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Bill Leesley at the business session thev dis cussed and planned redecorat ing the church. After the bus iness session they honored Mrs. Billie Schuelke with a stork shower. The Greenwood Woman's Club served the drink at the school Dicnic Thursday as has been their custom for past several years. The Hanoy Homemakers Ex tension Club held their May meeting at the home of Mrs. Wayne Howard. A lesson on "Cake Decorating" was given by Mrs. Elmer LeadabrRnd. The June meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Elmer Lead abrand with Miss Frances Runtz presenting a demonstration on "Corsage Making." family of Lakewood.
