Nine members and Ar lan Neben and Arthur Koelofsz leaders were present. Keith Nickel gave a talk on "Care and Shelter of Animals". Steve Jipp and Aaron Howe told and pointed out the parts oi the beef. Arlan Neben led a disc usslon on the feed and cure of animals. Thev all went out to see Aaron's calf. Lunch was served. The rest of the evening was spent playing ping ponr. Several members of the Alvo School board met with the Eagle School Hoard at Eagle Saturday evening. Patricia Snavelv, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Suavely entertained her friends Kay Ed wards, Susie Cook, Linda Sutton and Jeanette Weiehel Friday evening to a wiener roast, show at Lincoln and a slumber par ty. Mrs. Anna Hardnock's callers Friday were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fees of Scottsbluff. Mrs. Fees is a niece of the late Sam Hard nock. Mrs. Ellis Mickel returned home Sunday evening. She was a the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Graham at Knob Naster, Mo., her niece. Mrs. Carl Sutton attended the O.E.S. Grand Chapter in Lincoln Wednesday evening. Mrs. Ruth Taylor of Lincoln came by bus to Eagle Sunday morning. She was met by her brother, Walter Vincent and was a guest of the Walter Vincent family Sunday and attended ch urch with them. Art Klyver, of Lincoln, brother of Elmer Klyver, due to soft shoulders on the roads was thro wn from a bridge west of Alvo, some two weeks ago and was injured pretty severely. He was able to leave the hospital Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Stewart en tertained her sister and husband Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Campbell of Bennett Sunday for dinner. On Thursday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ganz and family entertained at suuper, her sis ter, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Gotshall, Clark, Ellen and Audrey Jo of Attruison and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Carter of Lincoln. Judy Weiehel celebrated her 16th birthday Saturday by en tertaining the freshmen and soph omore classes Saturday evening. Lowell Bell and Ben Rorr were also present. Mrs. Grace Linch of Lincoln was at her mother's, Mrs. Au gusta Bucknell's Saturday. Halterman of Route 1, Plattsmouth. complet ed recruit training May 8 at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, Calif. The 11-week course included instruction in all basic military subjects and the firing of all basic infantry weapons. Mrs. Elizabeth Reese of York, mother of Lee Knolle, died sud denly Friday. Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Marvin went to York Sunday to be with the family. Monday afternoon, Mrs. John Seefeld and children, Mrs. C. M. Seefled and Mrs. Denece Ker kow attended the county rural 8th grade graduation exercises at Plattsmouth. Carol Seefeld was among the graduates. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Stradely and Miss Muriel Holly of Waverly attended past masters' conven tion in Omaha on Sunday after noon. Miss Holly and Mrs. Stra dley also attended the Monday convention sessions. The May meeting of the Phil Hall Unit of the American Le gion Auxiliary was Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Ed Stradley. In the absence of the presi dent, the vice-president, Mrs. Evelyn Hansen presided. Re ports of poppy sales and the youth dance given on April 26 were given by the chairman of the committees. The historian summarized the history of the unit from its organization in j March 1934 to the present. i Two charter members. Holy Trinity Guild met Tues day with Mrs. Merle Meyer at the Guild Hall and the church was given a cleaning after paint ing and putting on a new ceil ing. The anniversary club met with Mr. and Mrs. Max Straub in Lincoln Thursday evening. Pri zes at cards went to Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wessel. Mr. and Mrs Elmer Hallstrom, Mrs. E. Relatives received word here of the death of a cousin, Mrs. Anna Ossing, Havanah, 111. She was a cousin of William and Henry Maseman. A picnic dinner was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hultman, Lincoln Sunday. Mrs. Roy Bridenstcin was a delegate to the regional meeting of the Nebraska Lutheran chil dren's service society at Beth any Church in Omaha this week. Vincel Shrader, son of Mrs. Dorothy Shrader has completed his 6 months with the army and is at home with his mother, who lives in Louisville. Mrs. Henry Smith was in Fre mont Tuesday to help her grand daughter, Linda Smith celebrate her second birthday. Mary Young, Syracuse, visit ed with her cousin, Mrs. Bryan Seegel here several days.
