The henoree was seated at the gift table, decorated as a May Pole in tin; bride's colors, blue and white, and nosegays of violets. Miss Helen Lessman, sister of the bride-elect, assist ed in the opening of the gifts. Refreshments were served by the hostess, carrying out the blue and white colors. Zastera Jr., of Two Harbors. Mich. Mrs. Walter Fulton returned home Friday afternoon from the St. Catherine's Hospital where she underwent nose surgery Wednesday morning. She is do ing fine at home. Devotions were in keeping with the theme "A Place to Live." Readers were Mrs. Day, Mrs. Kaffenberger and Mrs. Hendrix.' A voca slolo was given by Mrs. Carl Ogg with Mrs. Roy Cole as accompanist. Following the devotions the film, "The Barrier," showing the overcoming of class preju dices, was shown. Due to a change in the set up of the annual program, elections were not held in connection with the May Fellowship Tea this year. The elections and installa tion service will be held at a special meeting in January. Tea was served by the wom en's group of the Mynard chur ch. Mrs. Hendrix, president of the WSWS, poured. Local People Visit Camp Site Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Humiston and Mr. and Mrs. J. Howard Davis attended a Barbeque at Camp Fontanelle near Fremont Sunday. This camp is being construc ted for the u.se of the Youth in Eastern Nebraska by the Meth odist Church. The 150 acre site is located high above the Elkhorn River in a beautiful wooded area. The plans of the camp are to accom odate 150 campers including a large swimming pool and sev eral smaller camping units. The camp is to be ready for u.se in 1959. Mr. and Mrs. Davis are co- chairmen of Cass County of the building committee. Shower Held At Louisville Church LOUISVILLE (Special) A miscellaneous shower was held Sunday afternoon at the Meth odist Church basement honoring Beverly Shomanler who was to become the bride, of Jack Terry berry May 2 at First Baptist Church in Union. A color scheme of pink and white was used for the serving table from which cake, ice cream, nuts and mints were served. A large pink parasol centered the serving table. Mrs. George Vogler, Jr., poured the coffee. Hostesses were Mrs. James Tcrryberry of Omaha, Mrs. Lawrence Smith Jr., of Murdock and Mrs. Dale Harms of Plattsmouth. MOTHER'S DAY SPECIAL! Meeting opened by giving the Pledge Allegiance to the flag. Ten answered roll call. A tour was planned for May 14. Mrs. Ralph Payton and Mrs. Charles Wondra were the lead ers and the lesson was "Furn iture Arrangement." At the close of the meeting, refreshments were served by the hostess, Mrs. Charles Hae cke. Eight Forty Meets In Weeping Water Cass County Salon No. 441 of the Eight and Forty held their regular meeting at the home of Mrs. Joe John at Weeping Water, Monday evening at 8 p.m. Mrs Oliver Schiber, Chapeau, presided over the business meet ing. Child Welfare chairman Mrs. Karl Grosshans read a letter from the National Jewish Hos pital giving the names of all the children patients. These child dren are sent a gift on their birthday. Partnership Chairman Mrs. Robert Chappell read a letter from the Department Chairman, asking the Unit to send in all renewals and drive for new members to put Nebraska over tho top. A letter was read from Area B Demi-Chapeeau Mrs. Don War ga announcing an area meeting to be held at the Coffee Shop May Cth for the purpose of sel ecting a candidate for Demi Chepeau and other offices. A card of thanks was read from the Department Cheapeau Josephine Lamborn for courtes ies shown her. Report of the Cass County Tuberculosis Association held in Elmwood was given by Mmes. At teberry, Gobelman, Schultz and Schiber. Mrs. Joe Zastera was elected County Seal Chairman and new officers were elected. At the close of the business meeting, games weere played and all present won a prize. Mrs. Richard Streeter of Louisville won the traveling prize. Refreshments were served by the hostess Mrs. Joe John and co-hostesses Mrs. Robert Chap pell and Mrs. Joe Zastera. The May meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Charley At teberry of Union. Miss Hazel Cold To Reside In Oregon Miss Hazel Gold, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Gold of this city, departed by United Air lines Friday afternoon for the state of Oregon where she plans to make her home. Miss Gold graduated from Plattsmouth High with the class of '55 and since her graduation had been employed as secretary in the County Attorney's office. Daughter Born to Mr. and Mrs. Al Lin der a 5 lbs. 9 oz., girl at the Clarkson Hospital, Omaha, May 2. She has been named Sarah Sue. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Searl Davis and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Linder, all of Platts mouth. Daughter Born to Mr. and Mrs. Don Lid dick of LaPlatte. a girl, Tam my Lynn at the Methodist Hos pital, Omaha, April 13, weigh ing 6 pounds, 3 ounces. Grand parents are Mr. and Mrs. Glen Kaffenberger of this city and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Liddick of LaPlatte. Daughter Mr. and Mrs. Cecil McKnight Jr., of this city are parents of a daughter, born Friday, May 2 at St. Mary's Hospital, Ne braska City. Mrs. McKnight is the former Lila Barta. Philpots Return From Trip East Mr. and Mrs. Dale Philpot re turned the past week from the east coast and report a very pleasant time. Mrs. Philpot was a delegate to the Daughters of the Ameri can Revolution Continental Con gress in Washington D. C, al so delegate to the Daughters of the American Colonies and the National Society of the U. S. Daughters of 1812. The Cherry Blossoms were at their best, and they were guests at the Nebraska Breakfast gi ven by the Senators and Con gressmen of Nebraska. Before coming home they stop ped in Gettysburg, Pa., and visit ed relatives in Harrisburg, Pa., returning home on the turnpikes to Chicago. Married At Craves Home On Saturday Saturday afternoon at the residence of Judge J. H. Graves occurred the marriage, of Air man Gilbert L. Elderbaum, of this city and Miss Juanita Pearl Campbell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Campbell also of this city. The wedding was witnessed by Mr, and Mrs. Jack Johnson of Plattsmouth. The newlyweds plan to make their home in this city. Mollie Gobelman Receives Honorary Life Membership Highlight of the meeting on Thursday of the WSCS was the presentation of a life member ship to Mollie Gobelman for her many years service to the Meth odist Church. Mrs. William Hen rich had the pleasure of present ing the pin to her with words of praise. Others honored with a"cor sage for missions" were Mrs. Darwyn Hoover, Mrs. J. How ard Davis, Mrs. Richard Col lins, Ml-s. E. S. DeSpain, Mrs. Den York, Mrs. G. O. Schwen inger, Mrs. Hallie Perry and Mrs. R. B. Hayes. Mrs. Howard Wiles welcom ed on behalf of the society, Mrs. Richard Miller, wife of the dis trict superintendent of Omaha as our special guest. The devotions and lesson were given by Mrs. Darwyn Hoover and Mrs. Raymond Hamilton on March of Missions. An increase as voted on pledge to missions for the comiig year. Impressions of the meeting at Falls City were brought out by those members attending. Mrs. Howard Wiles ended two very successful years as pres ident with a farewell talk after which she was presented a gift by Mrs. John Schreiner from the society. The officers for the coming year were installed in a- very impressive service by Mrs. Har ry White with special music by Mrs. Karl Ogg accompanied by Mrs. Fred Fischer. Refreshments were served from a lace covered table with a beautiful centerpiece of the traditional May Pole. John Thimgan is helping with the Culligan Soft Water Service during the illness of Ray Fuller. !. - .J ' " Sbsmc iMj i j' M I am A and an Freshman Girls At Louisville Have Style Show LOUISVILLE (Special i On the evening of April 23, the Freshmen Homemaking Class of Louisville High School, present- i ed their spring style show to j parents, Iriends, facvlty mem- bers and the eighth grade girls and their mothers in the High School Auditorium. The Freshman girls modeled their class work which included an apron, skirt and blouse. Miss Rebbe, homemaking instructor, gave the commentary as each of the girls appeared to show their work. Four of the girls modeled work completed as home exper iences. They were Susan Worth man, Kay Albert, Carolyn Stohl mann and Cheryl Baker. The Sophomore girls modeled their garments, which they made earlier In the school year; Sharon Dietl, a turquoise denim jumper and a white percale blouse; Janice Hennings, a tur quoise cashmere and wool jump er and jacket; Janean Hubbell a charcoal and white plaid suit. Lunch was served in the home making rooms and an Informal social hour followed the style show. This message was brought by Dr. Vance Rogers, president of Nebraska Wesleyan University. Among the students honored at the convocation were a num ber of young people of Cass county completing their colle giate work at Wesleyan. Among these honored were Kappa Delta Pi, educational society honor, Don Baker, Plattsmouth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Baker; Jim Bailer, Nehawka. Sigma Pi Sig man, honorary physics society.
