Phone 4-3371 Family Life Is Important (The following was prepared by the State of Nebraska, De partment of Health). Many educators, ministers, and ethers who have made a study of present day family life are concerned about the lack of unity within the family group. A few years apo the members of the family shared common tasks and spent many pleasant hours together in self entertain ment and other activities. The varied activities of the different age levels in the mod ern family, with few common interests, have caused a lack of 1 understanding and interest in what the individual members are doing. This lends to result in self-centeredness, with little con sideration for the family unit. A movement is planned which seeks to restore a family-centered interest. To accomplish this, units of intruction are giv en in the school, and recrea tional programs and family life activities are carried on by church and civic interst groups. Important ways to build fam ily unity and cooperation can be found In outings and vaca tions together, and In group re creation and sports. Most churches now have ac tive programs in family life ed ucation and activities which are affiliated in the state or dis trict organizations of the given church.
