Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Jacob son and family .spent Christmas at the home of her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Joe McCoy and family Of Nodaway, la., Mrs. Bess Mc Coy of Villlsca, la., Mother of Mrs. Jacobson was present also. Mrs. Bess McCoy came home with the Jacobson's and spent a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rice and family celebrated Christmas with the Don Aylor family in Plattsmouth. Also present were Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Ba.shus and family of Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Todd and Bill returned Monday evening from Bassett, where they have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Dwy er Todd and family. Mrs. Olin Morris entertained at afternoon tea Dec. 31. Those present enjoyed listening to the music presented by Miss Marilyn Morris, w ho plays the piano, 'ind Miss Jane Fauquet of Platts mouth who sang for the group. Miss Fauquet has been a house guest of Miss Marilyn Morris this week. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Spang ler and family visited at the home of Mr. Spangler's brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Myer and family of Kansas City. Mr. Charles Perry, Lincoln and Mr. Verner Perry of Big Springs, visited at the home of their sis ter, Mr. C. D. Spangler this week. They also called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Sporer. Mr. and Mrs. Barley Lloyd and family visited Mrs. Loyd's family at Kearney, over the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Sack were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ward of Louisville on Sun day evening. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Lewis, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lewis, and Mr. and Mrs. Art Hellwig of Plattsmouth were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Emlers of Nebraska City on Sunday. Louis Sack attended the Allis Chalmers Mechanic Shool in Omaha Jan. 2-3. Katherine and Barbara Tem plemeyer, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Templemeyer are sick with the measles this week. Bill Todd, son of Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Todd, has return ed to Tarkio College to resume his schooling. Guest over the weekend in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Meisinger was Esther Bengtson of Omaha, Mrs. Meisinger's cou sin. Mr. and Mrs. Wildon Switzer of Nehawka were dinner guests in the home of M. and Mrs. Greeley Beil on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Forest Beil and family and Mr. and Mrs. Duane Sack attended the 50th Wedding anniversary celebration of Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Livingston at the Christian Church in Weep ing Water on Sunday. In the eve ning Mr. and Mrs. Beil visited in the Duane Sack home. Also present were Mr. and Mrs. Way ne Sack and family of Lincoln. Among those who attended the 50th wedding annviersary cele bration of Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Livingston in Weeping Water are Mr. and Mrs. Louis Sack, Mr. and Mrs. Reuel Sack, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Sack and El len, Mrs. C. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Bower and Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Jamison and Ray of Elsie returned to the Bower home New Years Day after a 5,000 mlie trip through several southern and southwestern slates and into California. Mr. and Mrs. Bower and Mr and Mrs. Jamison and son en joyed Christmas with Mrs. Bow er's sisters Mrs. Ray (Pearl) Smith and Mrs. Jim (Gladys) Tucknott in San Francisco. Points of interest they visited in that City was the Golden Ga te Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf and Telegraph Hill. As they were returning home they drove into Old Mexico and visited Mr. Bower's nephew ,Mr. and Mrs. Harold French at Al buquerque, N. M , Mr. and Mrs. Keith Pollard, Keven and Kimberly and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Grebe and Russell spent their holiday va cation at the Ray Bower home while Mr. and Mrs. Bower were in California, Mr. and Mrs. Bow ers and their families will cele brate Christmas and the New Year with a dinner at their home New Years Day. Cindy Bachman and Bunny Bryant spent a part of last week with their grandparents Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Bachman. Mr. and Mrs. Darold Miller and Ellen Kay of Ceresco had Sunday dinner with Mr. and Mrs. George Bornman. Mr. and Mrs. William Wese man of Bennington were Sun day dinner guests of the James Bieler family: Mr. and Mrs. Al Jackson and family of Omaha and Mr. and Mrs. Clay Finell of Valley were additional after noon guests. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Stander were hosts at a New Years eve pinochle party. Miss Isabelle Stander and Ralph Yochum were winners of the high prizes, Mrs. Glen Keet le and Ralph Yochum Jr. re ceived low, and Mrs. Ralph Yo chum drew the traveling prize. Issabelle Stander came from East Braintree, Mass., near Boston, to spend a two weeks holiday vacation with her moth er Mrs. Mary Stander and brothers and sisters and fam ilies. Bachmann, the next day Mrs. Margaret Lehman and Wallace McClelland were guests at the Bachman home and together they watched the Rose Parade on T.V. c Avoca News Mrs. Henry Masemaa Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jacobson observed their 25th wedding an -niversary Sunday at First Luth eran Church near Avoca. She was the former Irene Mohr and they were married at her mother's home by the Rev. Bergstraesser. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Noerr linger Jr. of Cool celebrated their 12th anniversary with a dinner at the cafe Thursday eve ning. The Missionary Society met Thursday with hostesses Mrs. John Rippe, Mrs. Maynard Rippe Mrs. Raymond Rippe, Mrs. Mau rice Ruge, Mrs. Joyce Shutz. Mrs. Alvin Ludwig and Mrs Harry Brockhoff and Elaine honored Mrs. Charles E. (Carole Hagemeister) at a shower at First Lutheran Church parlors recently. The green thumbers Club met with Mrs. William Dettmer Tues day. The January birthday club met with Mrs. Fred Lutjemeir near Otoe Tuesday with Mrs. Alvin Jacobson co-hostess. Officers elected were: Mrs. Harry Jacobson, president, Mrs. A. W. Carr, vicepresident; Mrs. Fred Lutiemcir, secretary-treasurer. Mrs. Edward Nelsen entertain ed at a birthday supper Thurs day evening honoring her son Marion on his 13 birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Kirkhoff entertained honoring their daugh ter Cheryl fourth birthday. Neighbors surprised Mrs. A. W. Carr on her birthday Fri day. The neighborhood Club met with Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Ruhge Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hallstrom entertained the Vets card Club at the cafe Thursday evening. Later thev retired to the Hall strom home for cards. Henry Cezshin reentered St. Mary's hospital last week and had surgery. Mrs. Dale Stubbendick is a patient at Syracuse community Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bose at tended funeral services for his uncle John Bose at Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Carr vis ited her brother at general hos pital, Lincoln. He had a heart attack. The Golden Red and Green Thumbers Garden Club were guests of the Weeping Water Garden Club Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Jensen showed pictures of their trip to Europe. Mrs. Jerrv Pointer went to St. Mary's Hospital, Nebraska City, to get her father, LeMoyne Spo hn Saturday. He had had sur gery. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Reese and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Westlake, Eagle, visited Mrs. George Meyer Thursday. Earl and Don Harmon, Neil Johnson were Monday evening supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Harmon at Weeping Wa ter. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Ludwig and Henry Grafe helped George Kirkhoff celebrate his birthday. The Woman's Fellowship of the Congregational Church met Thursday with Mrs Martha Ruge and Mrs. Calvin Carsten Co-hostess. Next meeting will be with Mrs. Minnie Neumeister and Bertha. Mr. Ross Fairfield and Miss Ruth Baty were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Fair field. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Heier visited at the Emil Rieke home last Friday night. Mrs. Virginia Piening spent Saturday with Mrs. Emil Rieke, Mrs. Piening is a teacher at Lyons. Mr. and Mrs. Emil Rieke visited Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Klemme of Wabash Friday even ing. Morrill Skinner was operated on Tuesday at the Providence Hospital for a ruptured disc in his back. His mother Mrs. Ar thur Skinner and sister-in-law Mrs. Donald Skinner went to see him Friday. Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Stromer went to Wauneta, Monday and returned Friday. They were visiting Mrs. Stromer's brother, the H. C. Brown family. Mrs. Minnie Peterson and Mrs. T. M. McKinnon were Friday evening supper guests of Betha Cosin and Mr. Hall Parsell. Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Weichel were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harl Wilson at Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. John Weichel, Mr. and Mrs. Neal Swanson and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Heinricks of Lincoln dined out and attended a show at Omaha Saturday night. Judy and Jeannette Wei chel kept the Heinricks child ren and the Swanson Children and Weichel boys at the Swan son home, having a party there.
