Hild, visiting relatives and friends here after their marriage, Dec. 14, have returned to Chicago where they will make their home at 1319'i Touky. While visiting her the couple was honored at a reception giv en by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hild at the Lion's Club Rooms. Serving at the bride's table were Mrs. James Jardee and Mrs. Rlchardt both of Lincoln; nlso Miss Lois Wagner, Omaha: Mrs. Orvllle Nielsen, Aurora, Mrs. Carl Chriswlser, Mrs. My ron Wiles and Mrs. John Val lery. Mrs. Stacy Niday and Mrs. George Pollard of Nehawka, Mrs. Burr Davis of Wayne and Mrs. Perry Dlngman served at the bridegroom's table. Mrs. Newton Sullivan was hostess as sisted by Roger Hild and Tom Livingston. Miss Janice Lancaster, Mur ray presided at the guest book and gifts were tended by Mar Ian Krause and Mary Uehling, Omaha. Close friends and relatives as sisted In the kitchen. Mpre than 200 guests greeted the couple. Many attending were out-of-town guests In the city for the holidays. Mrs. Hild is the former Rae dean Kramer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Kramer, Stuart Nebr, Mr. Hild has accepted a posi tion as group manager of sales of Mutual for the state of Ill inois and eastern Iowa. Platte View Club Meets The Platte View Extension Club met at the home of Mrs. Roy Belns. The lesson was "Candy Making given by Mrs. Ester Schroder. All members were present and Mrs. Emma Reed who joined the Club. A gift exchange was enjoyed. Next meetings will be held at the home of Mrs. Robert Sch nieder. The lesson will be on "Soup and Sandwiches." The meeting was closed with the singing of Carols led by Mrs. Edith Parsons. Jan. 3. Contest games were played and prizes given to winners, followed by Charades. Mr. and Mrs. Meislnger got a Sunbeam Electric skillet from those attending the shower. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Jochimsen and daughter; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Helwig; Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Kraeger; Mr. and Mrs Gilbert Fornoff; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bieii; Mr. and Mrs. LeoScanlan; Mr. and Mrs. Fulton Harris; Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Meisinger and Kenny, and Mrs. and Mrs. Hen ry Vinduska and family and the honoree's Mr. and Mrs. Larry Meisinger. At the close of the evening the group retired to the basement of the Vinduska home where Mrs. Vinduska assisted by Mrs. Frank Bierl served lunch. The tables were decorated in pink and white umbrella with wdding cake and over head a pink and whit umbrella with streamers dropping to the table. Mrs. Meisinger Has Annual Party For Accordion Students The annual Christmas Party was held Dec. 28 at Christ Lu teran Church bv Mrs. Arnold Meisinger for Accordion and piano students and their fami lies. The party started with a cov ered dish supper followed by a program of Christmas music by the students. Mrs. Meisinger presented stu dents with awards for perfect attendance. Lyle Engelkemeier received a trophy with an accordion on top engraved for 4 yrs. perfect at tendance to band practice.- Larry Engelkemier missed one practice in four years and was awarded an accordion wir ette with name plate engraved. Larry Jones and Kenneth Mei singer received accordion wir ettes with name plate for 2 yrs. and Sharon Kiser for 1 yr. les sons and band practice. Linda Jones for 1 yr. piano lessons, received wirette keyboard and staff with name plate. Linda Herre, Tommy Toman Sandy Toman, Larry Reber and Alice Frady received accordion wirettes for the fall class atten dance. A gift exchange was held at close of evening. Students pre sented Mrs. Meisinger a Brown ie Flash Bulb Camera in addi tion to other gifts. Mrs. Sylvester Entertains Guests My Ladies Club met at the home of Mrs. Cass Sylvester with 13 members and one guest, Beulah Choate, present. Prizes were given to Beulah Choate, Hazel Fitch, Barbara McGraw, Velma Pike, Fay Rhoden, Shirley Fitch, Tillie Bomberg and Evelyn Fitch. Refreshments were served. Next meeting will be at the home of Fay Rhoden. The Reverend LeRoy S. Burroughs officiated at the double ring ceremony. Mrs. Bailey is the former Sandra Sue Schaeffer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Schaeffer of Ames, la. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Bulin of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Livingston Honored on 50th Anniversary WEEPING WATER Special) Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Livingston observed their fiftieth wedding anniversary Jan. 5, at open house in the parlors of the Christian Church here. They were married on Jan. 8, 1908 at the home of Mrs. Livingston's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Spangler, Plattsmouth by An drew L. Ogden, minister of the Church of Christ. Lela Livingston Long provid ed the wedding music. The coup le were attended by Troy Wiles and Emily Livingston, now Mrs. Roy Kohler of Fullerton, Calif., sister of Mr. Livingston. The couple resided on a farm seven miles northeast of Weep ing Water, the George Wiles farm, and one year later they moved to the Will Spangler farm where they made their home for twenty-five years. They now make their home northwest of Weeping Water. Mr. and Mrs. Livingston have three children, Jesse of Orono, Me., Charles of Tonkawa, Okla., and Mrs. Wilma Schultz of Wal ton and eight grandchildren. Jesse was unable to be present. Mrs. Schultz and Charles greet ed more than 375 guests upon arrival. Those present who attended the wedding fifty years ago were Mrs. Roy Kohler of Fullerton, Calif., Fern and Doris Spangler of Lincoln, Mrs. George Mumm of Plattsmouth, Phillip Spangler, Lincoln, Charles Spangler, Cal laway Mrs. Ruel Sack of Mur ray, Lloyd Livingston of York and Harrison Livingston of Weeping Water. Nancy Livingston, granddaugh ter, prpsided at the guest book. Mrs. William Klemme. Nehaw ka, Miss Fern Spangler, Lincoln Mrs. Louis Olsen, Lincoln and Mrs. Alvin Brink of Archer had charge of the gifts. The guests were served from a table covered with gold, with a three tiered wedding cake en circled by fern and yellow mums and flanked on either side by crystal candelabra and silver service. Assisting at the serving table were Ms. Charles Livingston, Mrs. Maurice Hammons, Mrs. Earl Selby, Mrs. George Mumm, Mrs. Ruel Sack, Mrs. Royal Smith, Mrs. Archie Hennings, Mrs. Howard Miller and Miss Doris Spangler. The ladies of the Christian Women's Fellow ship had charge of the kitchen. The honored couple received many flowers, cards and gifts and pictures were taken through out the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Livingston have lived all their married life in this vicinity and are charter members of the Christian Church in Weeping Water. Mr. Livingston is an elder in the church and Mrs. Livingston an honorary deaconess. A program was presented in the afternoon. Charles welcom ed the guests and presented his sister, Mrs. Donald Schultz, who in turn presented her parents and tliry were seated in chairs hi honor. Nancy Livingston i played two riano numbers. Ruel! Sack of Murray gave a short I I talk. S. H. Harmon, accompan ied by Mrs. Harmon, sang "Through the Years". Mrs. Koh ler spoke about the wedding fifty years ago. This was follow ed by presenting Mr. Livingstons brothers and sisters, Lloyd and Harrison, Mrs. Carla Sack of Lincoln and Mrs. Kohler. Char les Spangler of Callaway and Phil of Lincoln, brothers of Mrs. Livingston, were introduced. Louis Sack of Murray sang a solo, "End of a Perfect Day" accompanied by Mrs. Richard Sack. Cyrus and Harrison Living ston, Clyde Jenkins of Lincoln and S. H. Harmon sang togeth er when they were young men and they presented a beautiful number, "Beautiful Land" ac companied by Mrs. Harmon. This was followed by the quar tet composed of the same men with Charles taking the place of Mrs. Jenkins and they sang, "Jesus, Lover of My Soul". The program closed with a thank you by Charles. Guests were represented from Lincoln, Plattsmouth, Callaway, Arthur, Fremont, York, Avoca, Louisville, Nehawka, Murdock, Ashland, Garland, Scottsbluff, Manley, Fairmont, Walton, Weeping Water and Tonkawa, Oklahoma. Mrs. P. A. Hild Observes 80th Birthday Saturday A group of relatives and friends gathered at the home of Mrs. P. A. Hild Saturday evening to help her celebrate her 80th birthday. The evening was spent visit ing, playing cards and serving refreshments. Attending were the Raymond Hilds, Mr. and Mrs. John Hild, Shirley and Leonard; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hild. Robert, Rol lin and Richard, Mr. and Mrs. Verne r Hild and son, Lyle and the Tom Meislngers. Also Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hild, Cheryl and Debra; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Bond and Kathy; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Bond and Ka thy; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Puis, Ronnie Delbert Joyce and Brad ley; Jean Porter and Mrs. Bes sie Bourne. Mrs. Hild, the former Lena Puis has resided in this commu nity all her lifetime. She is the mother of four sons. Raymond John Ernest and Verner, all living in this community. She also has 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Mrs. Hild lives alone in her home at 809 First Ave., doing her own work, enjoying her neighbors, friends and flowers. She is an active church member and of her guild of the St. Paul's E v a n g e 1 i cal and Reformed Church. On New Years Day Dr. Horn and Arnold H. Stohlmann visit ed in the home of his nephew and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Louis A. Horn of Bellevue. They ;ilso called on Mrs. Annie L. Cutter and Mrs. kind. Mabel Packer of Ash- Mrs. Larry Meisinger Is Shower Honoree Mrs. Larry Meisinger was hon ored at a miscellaneous bridal shower Sunday afternoon at the Christ Lutheran Parlors. The guests were greeted by the new bride and mothers of the couple Mrs. Leata Porter and Mrs. Arnold Meisinger. Miss Jean Porter kept the guest book Each wore corsages of white carnations. The bride's table was covered with dark green and featured miniature white and silver may poles on each end with stream ers holding two white bells over the names Larry and JoAnn. Seated with the honored guest were Mrs. Porter, Mrs. Meising er and the honoree's sisters, Jean and Sharon Porter who as sisted opening the many lovely gifts. Valara, Judy and Virginia Meisinger had charge of the gifts. The gift tables were de corated with lace over yellow and white, with a large white and silver umbrella. Two accordion duets played by Patty and Sandy Toman, and a musical guessing game played by all present with prizes given, was the entertainment for the 100 guests. A lunch of ice cream, decor ated cake, coffee and mints was served by the hostesses, Mrs. Elmer Meisinger, Omaha; Mrs. R. P. Meisinger, Murray; Mrs. Otto Meisinger, Mrs. Ed Tschir- ren, Mrs. Verner Kaffenberger, Mrs. LaVerne Meisinger and Mrs. Louis Wagner. Omaha Couple Celebrates 60th Wedding Here MURRAY (Special) Mr. and Mrs. James H. Brown of Oma ha, celebrated their 60th wed ding anniversary Dec. 22. They were honored at open house at the home of their daughter, Mr. and Ms. Dale Topliff, Mur ray. Those present for dinner were their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Deles Denier of Findley, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Topliff and family and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Topliff of Plattsmouth and the host and hostess. Mrs. Brown was presented with her first orchid, gift from her grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. James Deles Deneir and fami ly, Jeffersonville, Ind., Mr. and Mrs. John Snyder and family, Findley, Ohio and Mr. and Mrs. Elton Deles Denier, Findley, Ohio. The beautiful wedding cake, which was baked by Mrs. Del bert Lindsay of Union, was another gift from their grand children,, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Topliff and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hackwith and fam ily. Mount Tabor, N. J. Mr. and Mrs. Brown were married Dec. 22, 1897 at Mur ray, Mrs. Brown is the former May Berger. The couple farmed on the family farm for 25 years, then moved to their present home in Omaha in 1924. At such time Mr. Brown was employed with the Union Pacific Rail road and retired just 2 years ago, at the age of 84. Many flowers, telephone mes sages and gift cards were re ceived. A number of friends and rel atives came to congratulate the couple in the afternoon. The wedding cake and coffee were served. Mr. and Mrs. Harold A. D. Dumke and Lee entertained in honor of Dr. M. H. Horn of Bothell, Wash., at a 6 o'clock dinner New Years Day. Those present besides the hon ored guest were Mr. and Mrs. August Stohlmann Sr. Danny and Carolyn. Rev. and Mrs. J. W. Taenzler, Robert and Julia spent the pa.st week with the Richard Harold family in Chicago. Mrs. Harold was Phyllis Taenzler, a membsr of the Platsmouth Class of '46. We exchanged gifts and were served a lunch of cupcakes, jello, candy and nuts. We also sang Christmas carols. After our party we went car oling at the Masonic Home. We were then taken on a tour thru the dining room and chapel. The rooms were decorated with trees. Mrs. Sehwenncker was then kind enough to take us in her car throughout the town to see the house decorations. Assisting us with the party and caroling were Mrs. Joyce Ettcr, our sponsor mother, Mrs, Venitta Sehwenncker, our assist ant, and Mrs. Frances Squires, our leader.
