Dr. Albert Fricke Back At Old Home Dr. and Mrs. Albert Frleke. of Las Anueles, were here at the week end to visit hero with sister, Miss Dora Frlek. and to meet as many a.s possible of the old time friends and associates of Dr. Fricke. The visit was limited in the old home as Dr. Fricke and wife are leaving for the west coast. They also stop ped for a short visit at Omaha with Mrs. Russell Harris, an other sister, and at Ashland with a brother, E. A. Fricke. Miss Joyce Fauquct Returns To Coast Miss Joyce Fa liquet who has been enjoying the Christmas holiday here with her parents, Attorney and Mrs. Paul E. Fau quct and brothers and sisters, has returned to San Jose, Calif! She is attending college at San Jose and will graduate there on January 31st with the mid-winter class of the school. Kearns post of the American Legion held their January meeting at the forty and Eight Club, t he first ses sion of 1958. The members regretted to learn that one of the old and faithful members, Dean L. Pat ton, is a patient at the Veterans Hospital in Omaha. It was urg ed that members send cards to Ward 8, Kast. Veterans Hospit al. Members were more than de lighted to have with them Ed ward G. Ofe, longtime member of the Legion post, now a resid ent of Tacoma, Wash., but still a paying member here. Ed was commander in the hectic days when the members were busy in paying off the mortgage on the building they now own on Avenue A. John Thomsen. a new memb er, was presented and greeted by his new friends in the local Legion. Joe Zastera. veteran member of the Legion, was present and thanked the members for their remembrances during his illness ness. Adjutant Don Waiga report ed that the mrmber.shin for 19 58 was now 174 with the camp aign still moving on. Bob Beverage departed Wed nesday for Hamilton, N.Y., to return to his studies at Colgate University. Bob spent the hol idays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Beverage, and other family members. Mrs. York is widow of the late Russell York, formerly of this city. She has been traveling through the northern part of the United States, going up into Canada, visiting all the large cities and points of interest. Mrs. York also visited at Wash ington, D. C. down through Vir ginia and Carolinas and across country to Oklahoma and Kan sas before arriving in Nebraska for an extended visit. Cars Collide At Road Intersection A car driven by Ralph W. Rathbun, Plattsmouth, Route 2, and one driven by Lee Nittler, Omaha, collided at an open in tersection 3'i miles west and 2 north of Murray Sunday at 9:35 a.m. The drivers told Deputy Sher iff Wayne Schneider who in vestigated that they were unable to bring their vehicles to a stop because of ice on the road. Both boys are ! attending the University of Wyoming. Vernon Aylor and Vernon Kaffenburger who were here for the Christmas vacation return ed Sunday to Tarkio, Mo., to resume their college work. C. E. Metzger, member of the state highway advisory council, was in from his home at Cedar Creek Monday. The work of the commission keeps him very busy over the state. Helen Marie Wenzel, daught er of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Wen zel of Eagle and Lt. Lee Alan Thorin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cl arence Thorin of Grant were married at a 7:30 p.m. cerem ony Friday at the Immanual Lutheran Church in Eagle. The bride appeared in a gown of im ported chantilly lace and sat in lace scallops outlined the sabrina neckline. Lace was re peated in a fan motif on the skirt which fell to a cathedral train. Her mantilla of chantilly lace also fell to cathedral length and she carried an orchid on a Bible. Maid of honor was Kav Mar ie Swarts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. K. Swarts of Eagle and bridesmaids were the Misses Sue Stoneciper of Fayettsville, Ark., and Betty Jayne Hughes, cousin of the bride of Phoenix ville Pa. John Thorin of Seward was the groom's attendant. Ushers were Wallace Adams of Alliance and the bride's brother. Richard Wenzel. Lighting the tapers was the bride's cousin, Nellie Jean Jo hansen. Mrs. Thorin is an Eagle grad uate and attended Cottey Col lege In Nevada, Missouri. The bridegroom was a student at the University of Nebraska. Following a wedding trip, the couple will reside in Sacramen to, Calif. The funeral of Mrs. Olive Er skine, 65, of near Prairie Home was held Monday afternoon at the Methodist church In Prair ie Home. Her death came last Thursday evennig following a severe stroke the preceding week and was taken to the hos pital In Lincoln at once. Mrs. Ersklne's survivors are her hus band, sans II. N. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kirch hoff entertained at their home on Sunday the relatives of Mrs. Kirchhofffs for a family gather ing and dinner. The Richard Anderson family of Lincoln visited at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Anderson Wednesday night.
