The confession the man dic tated to Solomon Thursday night follows: "I drove to Lincoln, Neb., around the first of December, 1957. I was driving my 1950 green Bulck 4 door sedan. I was alone. I left Omaha about 8 p.m. and drive on Highway 6 to Lincoln. "I meandered around and ended up in Lincoln around mid night. I just fooled around In Lincoln. I went to a beer joint in West Lincoln and saw a blonde I knew. "I had been using junk that night. "After I left the beer tavern, which was about 12:30 I then drove around my car was low on gas and I was broke. I pull ed into a service station near 33rd and Cornhusker. "Then an attendant came out and put gas in my car. After he serviced my car, I pulled a shotgun on him and told him to get into the car which he did. I drove him out northeast of Lincoln about a mile or so, and stopped the car. "I told him to give me his billfold which he did. He didn't . have a money belt on him. I told him to get out of the car and start walking which he did. "I then got out and shot him in the back of the head with the shotgun. He was about 10 to 15 feet away from me when I fired at him. 1 went over to where he lay and removed some change from his pocket, a handkerchief and a pocket knife then left. "Down the road, I removed about $80 from his billfold.-1 then threw the billfold and knife away. About a mile down the road from where the shooting took place, I threw the gun into a creek. "I then continued on to Oma ha. I had gotten the shotgun from a farmhouse breakin in Kan sas. Near the farm was an ele vator. It was a 12-guage shot gun. I had kept the gun in the trunk of the car until I drove to Lincoln that night. I had purchased a box of shotgun shells at a hardware store. "I also had a pistol with me on the night of the shooting. The man was scared to death. He didn't know what I was going to do to him. The man had a" cap on, a blue one, I believe, but I am not sure. "The man had put about 14 gallons of gas into my car be fore I ordered him in. He had also put some oil in my car. No other customers came to the station while I was there. "The man said he was mar ried. He stated he had been working at the station a short time. I was pretty doped up that night. I would say the man was about 21 years old, 5-8, about 130 pounds. I threw the shotgun on the right side of the road into a creek." of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lee Bal lance and also the latter's visit ing parents Mr. and Mrs. Char lie Livesay, also of Wolf Lake, 111.
