In the presence of the imm ediate families the beautiful and Impressive double ring ce remony was read by the Rev. Earl Johnson, brother of the bride, assisted by the Rev. Carl Good. Mrs. Jack Selland was matron of honor for her sister and the groom was attended by Wayne Simmons. Mrs. Charles 'Karr, also a sister of the bride, was accom panied by Miss Sally Roby when she sane "Together With Jesus" and We'll Live For Him. Among the guests were Mr. and Mrs. James Howard (nee Mary Ketch) of San Leandro, and Mrs. Lewis of Nehawka. Mrs. Lewis returned to Ne hawka Dec. 12 bringing greet ings to old friends from her son, George and his bride, her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. James Howard, Mrs. Sus ie Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Minter of El Monte. Mrs. W.D Lenker, Oakdale and Mrs. Ro bert Chapman, Oakland. The newlyweds will be at home at 2336 6th St., Riverside Calif. Mrs. Arthur Johnson was hos tess to the Nehawka extension club Dec. 11. Yearbooks for the coming year were filled out. each child present received a gift. Mrs. Duane Everrett will present a lesson on "Landscap ing" at the home of Mrs. Earl Nolte on Jan. 8. Friday evening Sandra Sta pert and four other students of Mrs. Arnold Meisinger's accor dian band played in a recital at Hospes Music Store in Omaha. Mrs. Jake Stapert announced she has received $24 from some of the "Coffees" held as a P.T.A. project. This will be ap plied to a fund for a mimeo graph machine for the school. The Junior class play, "Meet Me in St. Louie" was present ed Saturday evening to a full house. Between acts Dorene Leslie and Gloria Reys sang a duet and a quartet, Neil Bail er, Roger Dodson, Karen Will husen and Sue Johnson sang. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Thiele, Plattsmouth, and Mr. and Mrs. John Barkhurst and family were guests Sunday afternoon of Frank Thiele and Mr. and Mrs. Will Thiele of Syracuse. The Girl Scouts and Brown ies had their Christmas party at the Methodist church Fri day after school. They had ga mes and a eift exchange. The' Scouts completed their mother's Christmas Rifts. The Scouts will present a program at the Me thodist family nieht on Jan. 28. Mrs. John Chandler and Mrs. Jack Lindsev are Scout leaders and Mrs. Deane Nutzman and Mrs. Fred Wessel lead the Brownies. Dan Anderson left Monday morning for Wiltse, Kans., to visit his sister. Mrs. Abbie Stan- der. He accompanied Bob Ro mans to Manahtten and Mr. Ro mans took him to Wiltse Mon day evening. Later he will go to Bishop, Texas to spend the holidays with his daughter, Mrs Joe Doedyns and family and then will spend the remainder of the winter with his son, Ly man Anderson and family at Phoenix, Ariz. Dan Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Anderson were supper guests Sunday of Bob Romans family, Nebraska City. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Ander son have moved from Nehawka to the Dan Anderson farm. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schomak er have leased the cafe from Mr. and Mrs. Raymond May field and will call it the Scho- maker cafe. Mr. and Mrs. Matt Akins have had the cafe for several years since the May fields moved to Garland. Mr. and Mrs. Schomaker had their opening on Dec. 8. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Ackley and family, David, Elizabeth and Gerald and Alvin and Gil bert Edmonds Jr. spent Satur day in Omaha to see the toys and Santa Claus. David and Al vin were overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Horn of Oma ha. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Lukow ski and son, Omaha, were week end guests of the Verne Ackleys. Mrs. Ella Cook, Weeping Wa ter was guest the past week of the Dwight Cooks. Saturday they visited Guy Murdoch and Lester Shrader a t St. Marys Hospital, Nebraska City. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dill visi ted his sister, Mrs. Jens Chris tlanson at Doctor's Hospital. Omaha. Mrs. Christiansen is making satisfactory progress following surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Lund berg and family, Omaha, were guests Sunday of his grand mother, Mrs. Hlldur Lundberg. Mrs. E. J. Smith, ElCajon, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mook, Lincoln were . dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Eve'rrett and family. The Cub Scouts met Mon day after school at the auditor ium to complete their mothers Christmas gifts. Mrs. Ann Nue master is their leader. Mrs. Bob Wunderlich return ed home Friday from Omaha where she was a patient for three and a half weeks at Clark son Hospital and then spent three weeks with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Gordon. Eddie, Bobbie and Cathy spent the time with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wunderlich, their grand parents. Cathy was with her mother at the Gordon home the past three weeks. Mrs. Ralph Snavely, Alvo, was a guest Friday of her sis ter, Mrs. John Chandler. Mrs. Emma Nutzman was program chairman Tuesday when the American Legion Aux iliary met at the auditorium for their Christmas dinner and gift exchange. She read a Christ mas story. Ann Nutzman play ed two piano solos and accom panied group singing of Christ mas carols. A report on rehabilitation was given by Mrs. Arthur Johnson. Mrs. George Kime presided. Members voted to purchase a storm window for the auditor ium. Hostesses were Mrs. Louie Ross and Mrs. Henry Ross. A Christmas party and game afforded entertainment for the Junior Women's club Thursday evening at the Methodist church dining room. Mrs. Harvey Mail er was chairman. Each mem ber came dressed in kid cos tumes and Mrs. Marion Tucker won the prize as the best dress-" ed kid. The room was decora ted attractively in the Christ mas theme. Mrs. Hal Hansen showed a color film on T.B. Mrs. Fred Hansen presided. Members vo ted to donate 25 cents each for a book for the school library. Hostesses were Mrs. Gerald Ackley. Mrs. Kenneth Redden, Mrs. Thurmond Nixon, Mrs. Earl Nolte, Mrs. Helen Friedli. Mrs. Delbert Lindsey gave in structions on how to care for poinsettas and how to propa gate them from cuttings Wed nesday evening when the Ne hawka Flower club met at tlio home of Mrs. Martin Ross, John Royal showed color .slides of the peony gardens at Inter state Nursery and from the Kit chen peony gardens of Lincoln. He also showed slides of flower pictures taken by Mrs. Oren Pollard's daughter. Mrs. Clay ton Bruce at Ogden, Utah. An unusual display of cut flowers were "The Star of Beth lehem", fresh flowers given to one of the members as a Christ mas gift. They had been ship ped to the U.S. from Capo Town, Africa. Mrs. Floyd Joerger presided. She appointed the following as judges of tlie Christmas window contest: Mrs. Lindsey, chair man; Mrs. Sadie Shrader, Eve lyn Wolph, Mrs. Emma Nutz man and Mrs. F.O. Sand.
