The game of Dubbs Bridge was played with ladies hinh score by Mrs. Joan Glaze and low Mrs. Frances Jochimsen; high score for the men was made by Leonard Born and low score by John Glaze. Refreshments were served by the host and hostess from a Christmas decorated table. Mr. And Mrs. Club Has Holiday Party The Mr. and Mrs. Club of Christ Lutheran Church held their Christmas party Dec. 15, with a covered disli supper for nine couples and their families. Later in the evening Santa came and presented gifts to the children. A film entitled "Land of Many Waters" was shown by Ralph Hild. Our next meeting will be Jan. 19. ; r-. XJ Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rhoa des and Patty went to Nebraska City Sunday to visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Smallfoot and were supper guests. Miss Janice Lancaster, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Lancaster. Murray is Honored Queen. Others elected to office were Sharon Ramge, senior princess; Nancy Lancaster, junior prin cess; Marjorle Grosshans, gui de and Jane Fauquct, marshal. Installation of officers will be held Dec. 30 at 8 p.m., and will be open to the public. Sunday the out-going Queen, Betty Morris was hostess to the Jobs Daughters at the Ma sonic Hall. Games were played and Christmas Carols sung. Miss Morris served lunch in the dining room following the party. Eight And Forty Christmas Party Cass County Salon No. 441 of the Eight and Forty held their Christmas party on Monday evening, December 16th at the home of Mrs. Sophie Wolver. Chapeu Mrs. Oliver Schiber conducted the business meeting. A letter from the department chapeau was read asking the Salon to appoint an Educational and Scholarship chairman. Mrs. Fred J. Feldhousen was appoin ted to the post. Mrs. Don Warga, Area B Demi chapeau, asked the Salon to entertain members of Area B at a noon luncheon to be held at a later date. Chapeu Mrs. Schiber express ed the thanks of the Salon to Mrs. Joe John for the gavel presented to the Salon. Mrs. John Schutz, county T. B. Christmas seal, chairman, reported $968.30 collected to date with letters coming in each day. She urged everyone to re turn their money as soon as possible. Games were played and pri zes were won by the following: Mrs. Milton Muncie, Mrs. Don Warga, Mrs. Joe John, Mrs. Harry Gobclman, Mrs. Richard Streeter, Mrs. John Schutz, Mrs W. D. Fitzpatrick, Mrs. Helen Vroman, Mrs. Fred J. Feldhou sen, Mrs. Albert Inman and Mrs. Emmett Cook. The members sang several Christmas carols and enjoyed a gift exchange. Delicious refreshments were served by Mrs. Wolever and Mrs. Claude Ruse. Amato Home Beautiful Setting For Junior W omens Club Party Junior Womens Club held their Christmas meeting and party at the home of Mrs. Louis Amato. The Amatos greeted the guests with a beautiful Nativity Scene as they came up the walk. Holiday decorations and a lighted tree added a festival air to the occasion. Mrs. William Knorr, presi dent, presided over the busi ness meeting and opened the meeting with a prayer. A letter was read from the Childrens Memorial Hospital Bazaar Chairman, thanking the club for their support and donations to the bazaar. Five dollars was sent to the Childs Saving Institue for Christmas. Courtesy chairman Mrs. Tom Solomon reported sending several cards and year book chairman, Mrs. War ren Lillle, reported the year books had been given to paid up members. Mrs. Don Wall, clothing col lection chairman, asked all members to fill out cards o f clothing on hand so she can start a file. Clothing will be a vailable to anyone in need of it. Any clothing remaining over at the end of the year will be ta ken to the Indian Reservation at Macy, Nebr. Mrs. Gordon Wasson asked all members to leave the coffee key strips or labels with her to be sent to Omaha. The club voted to have these .toys sent to a home in Beatrice. Members agreed to help with the Heart Fund Drive but not to be responsible for the drive. Mrs. Hugh Stander Jr., will be general chairman of the Annual Smorgasborg to be held in Jan uary. In lieu of Christmas baskets Faculty, Families Enjoy Dinner Party The Plattsmouth School Fac ulty and their families assem bled at the Hotel Coffee Shop for a Christmas dinner and par ty. Sixty-four adults and children were present for the 6:15 din ner and were later entertained by a visit from Santa Claus. The children all received gifts from his pack. Miss Maxlne Cloidt, chairman, decided to give books to the city Library. The following books were pur chased, "The Giant Nursery Book", "New Masterplots of World Authors" and 'Children in Colonial Life." Mrs. Hugh Stander Jr., lead the group in singing several Christinas Carols accompanied by Mrs. Glenn Lutz. A gift ex change was enjoyed by all. Refreshments of punch, coff ee and Christmas cookies was served from a beautiful table by the committee, Mrs. William Babbitt, Mrs. Tom Solomon and Mrs. Louis Amato. Local Club Enjoys Holiday Party The Sunbonnet Garden Club met with Mrs. Roy Clark Thurs day for the annual Christmas party and covered dish dinner, and held a meeting. Mrs. Earl Shanholz assisted Mrs. Clark. Sixteen members and guests, Mrs. Harold Elmore, Airs. Jose phine Ulrlch, Mrs. Mary Hen nings and Mrs. Stella Coffelt, were present. Ida Patton presided at the business meeting when election of officers were chosen. Mrs. Le Roy Covert was elected presi dent; Mrs. Freda Fahrlander, vice-president; Mrs. Lee Spry, secretary-treasurer and Mrs. Roy Clark assistant. Mrs. Clarence Akeson was elected as publicity chairman. Mrs. Cecilia Lancaster favor ed the group with an original poem "Christmas Shopping," and Ida Paton read the Christmas Tree, a symbol of Peace. A gift exchange was enjoyed by all, afterwhich the hostesses served refreshments. Mrs. Clark also celebrated her birthday at this party and re ceived many gifts. Stones Home Scene Of Birthday Party Mrs. Henry Adkins and Junior Cheval were pleasantly surpris ed Sunday with a birthday party given them by Mrs. Delores Stone's at her home. Out-of-town guests were Mr. ad Mrs. George Whelen and son, Kenneth, and Mrs. Delia Freel, alPof Omaha, Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Freel, David and Patsy; Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Cheval and sons, Jim and Junior Nellie Moore, June Babcock, Wil liam Babcock; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Adkins and Connie Rae; Frank A. Cheval and the hosts Mrs. Delores Stones and son, Richard. The afternoon was spent in playing games and visiting with ladies attending church services in the evening. The honored guests received many gifts to remind them of this special occasion. Lunch was served including birthday cakes. X-:-.-.-.v:t:-ii' Veterans Of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Meet The Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary held their meeting in the V.F.W Club rooms of Tues day evening. Mrs. A. C. McLean president, presided at the business session The session took up communi cations as follows: District No 6 minutes, a certificate from the national treasurer to the Unit for being one hundred per cent in their Health and Happiness fund, having sent $1 for each member of the unit. A communication was receiv ed from the Falls City unit say ing Sister Clara Stockton had fallen and broken her leg, mem bers were urged to send cards to Mrs. Stockton. Kitchen Chairman, Mrs. Owen Willis announced the annual Christmas party and program would be held Monday, Decem ber 23rd at 6 n.m. for the fam ilies, each child is to bring a 50 cent gift for the gift exchan ge. Santa will make his visit la ter in the evening, toys, food and clothing are being collect ed and prepared to be given to anyone in need. The Auxiliary . and Post will prepare food bas- kets, members were asked to leave food at the- club before December 20th. The unit voted to send a sub scription of the Plattsmouth Journal to the Omaha Veterans Hospital. Mrs. Pearl Myers announced she Is chairman of the March of Dimes In Plattsmouth and will be assisted by Mrs. Leroy Wilson, Mrs. Clovis Day and Sophie Wolever.
