Martin attended the 57th Cuss Count v annual Sunday School convention at Alvo. The Ob.S held a banquet sup per Saturday evening honoring the past matrons and past pa trons. The theme of ttie decora tions and program was "a humorous circus." Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Osburn were Mr. and Mrs. Ted Bueling and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Osburn and Karen, all of Lincoln. The dinner was in honor of Ted's birthday. Mariam Carter returned home last week from a vacation tour. She visited in Canada, the New England states, Washington D. C, and New York City. Mrs. Turley Wall attended a miscellaneous shower in honor of Oma Jo Taylor at the home of Mrs. Joe Kipper of Lincoln Sunday afternoon. Happy Homemakers Extension Club met at the home of Mrs. Robert Wall last Wednesday, with 16 members present. Lesson on Mental Health was given by Mrs. Cloyd West and Mrs. El mer Leadabrand. After the meet ing, Mrs. Wall served the lunch. Ruth Circle met at the home of Mrs. Mabel Lambert Tues day afternoon with 10 members present and one visitor, Mrs. Wil son Lambert. St. Joseph Altar Society met at the home of Mrs. Dale Stand er with eleven members pre sent. New officers elected were: President, Mrs. Hillie Schuelk, vice president, Mrs. Glissman, M. R. Hansen, Lunch was ser ved after the meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Wavne Howard are th parents of a daughter, Lesa Elaine, born Oct. 16, at Lincoln General Hospital. Mrs. Howard and daughter returned home from the hospital Sunday afternoon. Last Sundav guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Palmquist were Mrs. Palmquist's sister, Mrs. Martin Marken and Mr. Marken of Lincoln. Mrs. Palmciuist re turned home with the Marken 's Sunday evening and returned home Monday evening. Friday evening callers at the Palmquist home were Mr. and Mrs. D. F. Schwegman of Eagle. Friday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Howard were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Howard and 3 children of Boone la. and Wayne Howard and Steven. Ray mond Howard and family visited relatives at Greenwood and Lin coln from Thursday until Sim day. Last Sundav Mr. and Mrs. Turley Wall attended a dinner given in honor of Mr. and Mrs. i Ray Wall's fiflth wedding anni versary at Eaglf Ray is a broth er of Turley Wall. Mr. and Mrs. Turley Wall were Sunday evening; dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. James Wall of Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wall and family were dinner guests Sun day of Mr. and Mrs. John Ear ley of Omaha. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Marolf were Mr. and Mrs. George Urwin and Bill of Louisville, Wayne Howard and St'-ven and Mrs. Grace Walrodt. Mrs. Jake Hammer called on Mrs. Wayne Howard at the Lin coln General Hospital Saturday evening. Mrs. Ina Lvtle of Lincoln call ed at the Ben Howard home Sun day afternoon. Wednesday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Carnicle were Mr. and Mrs. Homer Car nicle and Mrs. Ruth Schwartz of Lincoln, Mrs. Edna Haswell of Murdock, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Peterson of Gretna spent Tues day afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Fidler ac companied Mr. and Mrs. Otto Olson of Ashand to Columbus Sunday afternoon and visited Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Jenny and fam ily. Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel Bol den and family were Saturday guests at the home of Pete and Dwayne Ball at Wahoo. Mr. and Mrs. Jason Streight entertained Mr. and Mrs. Je rome Streight of Omaha at a birthday dinner Sunday in honor of Jerome's birthday this week. Jerry Bartley of Ashland spent Sunday afternoon with Larry Car nicle Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Fidler ac companied Mr. and Mrs. Har old Buell to Crete Friday and attended Parents Day at Doane College. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh O'Brien of Louisville and Tom Carnicle were Sundav afternoon visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Larry Car nicle and family, and Jimmy and Mary Lou Carnicle who are staying with the Carnicle family while their mother is in the hospital.
