Talk of the Town Mrs. Axel Irwin Dies From Injuries Suffered In Fire Mrs. Axel Irwin. 37, of Ains worth, Neb., died in an Omaha Hospital Monday night of in juries suffered In a fire that de stroyed the Irwin home October 9th. The fire took the lives of two of her children in the fire. She has been at an Omaha hos pital since October 16th. Two more of the children, Al berta Hall, 12 and Charles, 6, are now at a Lincoln hospital where they are reported "doing quite satisfactory". Ainsworth police said that the fire apparently started as Mrs. Irwin was filling the gasoline motor of a washing machine. They said the bottom dropped out of the gasoline can, spilling gas across the floor. It ignited and the house was quickly en gulfed by flames. Mrs. Irwin was a cousin of Mrs. Lester Spangler of this city. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Gorton and family were Mr. and Mrs. Don Gorton and E.A. Lundin of Om aha, and Mrs. Glen Vallcry. Afternoon callers included Mr. and Mrs. John Koop and family of Omaha. Chauncey Woolheiser of Louis ville was in Plattsmouth Wed nesday on business and enrolled as a reader of the Journal. Bill Roloff entered Clarkson Hospital, Omaha, Sunday for surgery. He will be in the hos pital at least a week. Michael Roloff Is staying with his grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Erhart while his father is hos pitalized. Mrs. Roloff is staying in Omaha. Mrs. Guy Long has re turned home from the St. Mary's Hospital where she underwent surgery. She is getting; along fine. Mrs. P. F. Rihn who has been at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha has returned home. She is feeling very much improved. Chester and Linda Bow man, children of Mr. and Mrs. Doran Bowman .are are confined with the flu. They took ill Sunday night. William Mcints entered the Methodist Hospital Tuesday for observation. Five Plattsmouth men found the duck hunting good at Alli ance, all bagging their limit. Ralph and Fred Wehrbein, Hen ry Hild, Lyle Grove and Clem Woster macte the trip and spent from Thursday to Sunday on a ranch of the Wehrbcin's cousins near Alliance. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Smith and sons were Mr. and Mrs. Art Fye and children, Dick, Barbara and Jan et and Mrs. Dorothy Donovan, all of Lincoln. The occasion be ing Mrs. Fye's birthday. Mrs. Donovan is the mother, and Mrs Fye a sister of Mrs. Smith. ferns Weekend guests of Mrs. Sophia Wolever, were Mrs. Clara Jor dan and Miss Jackie Martin of Guide Rock, Nebr. Mrs. Cadwell is a sister-in-law of Mrs. Don Warga and Mrs. DeForest Perry and has many friends in Plattsmouth. Mr. and Mrs. Don Akeson and family of Lincoln were Sunday visitors at the Clarence Akeson home. Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Maddox of Jerome, Ida., are visiting at the Clarence Akeson home today. Meisinger, former resi dent of this city, Wednesday at the Hodgmen-Splain mortuary in Lincoln. Rev. Harold Albers of the East Lincoln Christian Church conducted the services which was largely attended. Interment was at Wyuka Cem etery at Lincoln. Nephews of the deceased ser ved as pallbearers, Joe Mei singer of Springfield, Emmons of Nebraska City, Harley of Weeping Water, Oliver and Her bert of Louisville and Clyde of this city. Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Meisinger and Katherine and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Meisinger and Janelle of this city attended the services, the deceasd being an elder brother of L. A. Meisinger. His mother Is the former Martha Frances Carneal. the Carneal's only daughter. She, her new son and another son, Tony Lynn, 20 months, are living with her par ents. The Carneal home was the scene of a double celebration recently. John Albert Carneal was honored on his 11th birth day and the Carneal family was reunited for the first time in four years. Son, Thomas W. Car neal returned a year ago from armed service after 2'J months in Germany. Present to celebrate the oc casion were Mr. and Mrs. Wil liam S. Wetenkamp Sr., Martha Frances Dudick, Tony Lynn and Randall Glen and Thomas W. Carneal, Omaha; Samuel E. Car neal and John Albert Garneal and the host and hostess. Thomas attends pre-med col lege at Creighton and Omaha U. Lecturer at Church Here Dr. B. II. Pearson, Los An geles, noted author, missionary and executive secretary of World Gospel Crusades, will be in Plattsmouth Sunday morning as guest speaker at the Community Church. The World Gospel Crusades is an inter-mission, interdenomina tional society dedicated to the distribution of Scriptures and Bible correspondence courses in 50 nations around the world. Their guests Tues day evening were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Harshman, Weeping Water, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Harshman, Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Behrns and family attended the wedding and reception of Carolyn Spohn and Jerry Pointer of Elmwood Thursday evening. i V- v ; V - Dr. B. II. Pearson of the East Lincoln Christian Church. Surviving his death is one brother, L. A. Meisinger, of Plattsmouth as well as a large number of nieces and nephews. Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Meisinger of this city and their son, Oliver Meisinger and family were at Lincoln for the services. The Crusades has supplied nearly 15,000,000 Scriptures in 41 languages. In India alone, more than 450,000 have taken the course based on the Gospel of John. Following his visit to Platts mouth, Dr. Pearson will be ac companied by the pastor of the Community Church Rev. George L. Smith, and Rev. G. Edgar Whitcman, of Calvary Life Col lege, to conduct similar meet ings in churches in Clarlnda,, Marengo and Newton, Iowa, and Omaha, then to Calvary Life College in Central City, Neb. Nov. 1-4 for a Youth Convention. Funeral Of Member Of Pioneer Family Held At Lincoln Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1 o'clock p.m., at the Hodgman-Spluin chapel in Lincoln for John B. Meisinger, 87, with Rev. Raymond Alber conducting the services. Burial was at Wyuka cemetery with nephews of the deceased serv ing as pall bearers. Mr. Meisinger was a member of the family that have played a great part in the story of Cass County, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. (Baltz) Meisinger one of sev en brothers that came west from Illinois to settle In Cass County in an eaVly day. John B. Meisinger was born in Tazewell county, 111., and was brought west by the parents when a child, spending his child hood in this section of Nebraska. He removed to Lincoln some sixty years ago and has since made his home in the capitol city. Mr. Meisinger was an em ploye of the state insurance de partment for the past twenty years, retiring from active duty five years ago. He has for the past years made his home at the Lindell Hotel, Lincoln. His wife, Nannie, preceded him in death in 1953. Core, 72, former resi dent of Louisville, died Monday at his home 667 N 45th Street, Omaha. His parents were old residents in Louisville and vicin ity.
