Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Greeley Beil and family, Plattsmouth, were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Wildon Switzer. Mrs. Randall Switzer attend ed the 30th anniversary cele bration of the Wickstrom Supply Co., of Lincoln, Sunday and Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Stone of Weeping Water entertained at a reception for their immed iate families Sunday afternoon honoring Mr. and Mrs. John Stone of Florida, who were mar ried in Florida this summer. Those who attended from Ne hawka were Mr. and Mrs. Ches ter Stone and Carol, Mr. and Mrs. Hall Pollard, Mr. and Mrs Neil Pierce and Neila, Mr. and Mrs. Will Ost. Mr. and Mrs. John Stone will return to Florida. He was re cently discharged from the air force and has accepted a po sition as pilot for Eastern Air Lines. Mrs. M3lvin Sturm was a guest of her father, H. W. Steinmey- er of Clatonia, Thursday and spent Sunday with the Jack Reece family at the Reece cab in at South Bend. Mr. and Mrs. George Pollard and Mrs. F. A. Hansen took Mrs. Charlotte Niday to Omaha Friday. Mrs. Niday left Satur day with Mr. and Mrs. D. R. Hall and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Taulburg of Omaha for a trip to California. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Borden, Auburn and Mr. Tom Beard, Lake of the Ozarks, former World War buddies of Hall Pol lard, were guests at the Pollard home Saturday. Short Courses On Irrigation, Stock Raising LINCOLN Persons attending two short course sessions at the University of Nebraska college of agriculture this winter will hear about irrigation and live stock production. The first session will be held Nov. 18 to Dec. 18. The second session will run from Jan. 6 through Jan. 31. Irrigation water management and management of irrigated soils will be the courses taught at the first session. The second session will deal with range and pasture management and beef cattle feeding. Instructors for the courses will include specialists from the col lege of agriculture faculty as well as successful persons in the applied fields of farming and other agricultural enterprises.
