Mrs. Meta Ilaveman gave a miscellaneous shower in honor of Mr. ad Mrs. Lloyd Hillman at her home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Haas of Albin were weekend visitors at the Leonard Haveman home. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Noerlin ger spent the weekend at the junior Noerliner home at Cook while the Junior Nocrlingers were at St. Louis. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Ruhgc and Mr. Geo. Durham were visitim; at the Christiansen nursing home in Weeping Water, Sun day. Mrs. J .H. F. Ruhge, Bertha Neumelster and Mrs. Koy Rughe had a card shower for their mother and grandmother, Mrs. Minnie Neumeister, on her 80th birthday Sept. 5. The Edward Lenhardt family of Beatrice visited in the home of their parents over the week end, also at their property east of town. Mrs. E. M. Rawalt entertain ed Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kara man, Hilda, Clarence and Clara at dinner at the Coffee Cup Cafe Wed. Katie Shumaker spent several days at the home of Lawrence Wulf. Mrs. Henry Maseman enter tained cemetery Kensington in the church parlors. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Freeman left Tuesday for Dallas, Texas to attend the wedding of their son Derrald to Dorothy Lee Sept 5. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Single v of Nebraska City: a daughter Sent. 1 at St. Mary's Hospital. Mrs. Rhegley Is the former Mareia Lee Gunn. A daughter Shirley Ann was born to Mr. and Mrs. Marion Sutton, Louisville, Sept. 5 at St. Mary's Hospital, Nebraska City. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. John A, Ruhge; gieat grandmother, Mrs. Maud Ruhge Avora, and parental grand mother, Mrs. C. E. Sutton, Louisvilile. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ruhge en tertained at dinner. Mrs. Min nie Neumeister and Bertha and Mrs. and Mr. J. H. F. Ruhge in observance of Mrs. Minnie Neumusters 80th birthday and ; their parents wedding anni versary. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Zaiser a ttended funeral aervice for Mrt. Robert (Agnes) Kratovil of Ta eoma, Wash, at the Crosby Kun old mortuary in Omaha. Mrs. Kratovil was a sister of Mrs. Henry Coudurierer and a very close friend of the Zaisers. Mr. and Mrs. Larsen of Blair visited in the A. C. Hansen home this week. Mrs. Fred Meyer is the new restaurant helper, since Mrs. Anna Mickle has started back to work at the school lunch job. Mr. Elmer Hennings and Mr. Fred Marquardt attended a Lions Club supper at Louisville. Mrs. Lawrence Wulf is a sur gery patient at Syracuse Hos pital. Mrs. Richard Meyer who was in Syracuse Hospital is now at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Bucholz and Mrs. George Meyer. Mrs. Amelia Balfour of Ne hawka was a visitor at the home of Miss Dena and Martha Ruge. Mrs. Martha Ruge entertained at dinner In honor of Mrs. Bal four. Linda Sehueter of Dunbar, spent several days with her ! ..iandmother, Mrs. Jennie ; Sehueter and Rosie. Ernst Jensen of Sherburne, Minn, visited here. The Green Thumbers Garden Club met Tuesday with Mr, Kenneth Wessel - roll call was "My Favorite Flower". Mrs. John Emshoff is spend ing several days in Omaha at the Wilbert Emshoff home. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Halstrom entertained Mrs. E. M. Rawalt and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Zaiser for dinner in Nebraska City on Monday evening. Pfc and Mrs. Edgar Muelor are spending his furlough at their respective homes, he is be ing transferred from Fort Bliss, Texas to Camp Kilmer, and on to European Area. Mrs. A. C. Hansen Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. John Voss and Linda, Ricky and LuAnne of Blair visited Sunday with Supt. A. C. Hansen Jr. and family. The William Aesehbaeker family of Lincoln were guests of their parents, Rev. and Mrs. J. E. Aschbacker Sunday. The Neighboorhood Birthday Club gathered at th John Mohr home on Monday P.M. to help Mrs. Mohr celebrate her birth day. Holy Trinity Guild met with Mrs. Leo Sehram and made plans for their annual fall din ner Oct. 6 in the Guild Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hennings were called to Omaha because of the serious illness of Mrs. Hennings sister, Mrs. Elmer (Freida) Wendt. Mrs. Sherman Cole of Mynard and her son Neil Norris of Oak land, Calif., visited at the Mrs. E. H. and Ernest Norris homes Wednesday. John Stubbendick family at tended a former neighbor pic nic of the Douglas community ot Lincoln. Mrs. E. M. Rawalt visited her sister, Mrs. F. R. "Amsbaugh, at Omaha and reports her aunt, Mrs. Lena Bromer home from the hospital. Two Fires BALTIMORE, Md. Georgianna Bruhn of Leigh left for her home Wednesday evening after spending the sum mer with the Jess Fiddler family She will return to Doane College for her senior year. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Wiszmann were Saturday evening dinner guests of Mrs. Velma Hofmeister at the Gate Way at Ashland. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Haswell of Murdock were Sunday eve ning visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Dill. Mrs. S. A. Ahlstrand returned Friday from a 3 week vacation trip with her sister Mrs. P. II. Palmquist of Denver. They visit ed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gordon and familv at Se attle, Wash. They took .sightsee ing trips and crossed Pugrt Sound on a ferry. Mr. and Mrs. Vyrl Livers, Mr. and Mrs. K. Livers and daugh ter. Mrs. Vera Muse of Ashland met Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Hen drlctcson of Council Bluffs and enjoyed a picnic at Arbor Lodge at Nebraska City Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Parrish were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Furrer at Yutan. They where State Fair visitors on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Fidler and Mrs. Jason Streight were among guests for dinner Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Otto Olson at Ash land. L. P. Ward of Ashland was a Sunday dinner guest of the Glen Kuhn family. Mrs. Val Gene Ewing, Terry and Glcnda and Linda Kuhn visited Mrs. Jean Icpock at Gretna Saturday evening. The Icpock's moved into their new home at Louisville Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Carnicle and family attended the Car nicle family picnic at Memphis Lake Sunday. Elinor and Elaine Fidler left Saturday for Crete where they will attend Doane College, Elaine for her senior year and Elinor a sophomore. Mrs. Bill Rosencrans and Tommy accompanied her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Grady to Plattsniouth Tuesday after noon and called on C. A. Rosen crans. Mrs. Jennie Livers spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Livers at Ashland. She spent the past week at the Vyrl Livers home and expects to re turn to her apartment in Ash laud tills week.
