Lindelow's neck was broken and spinal cord damag ed when he dived from a floating dock at Klewlt's Lake near the Oreapolls viaduct. He Is para lyzed from the neck down, the hospital, reported. VFW Auxiliary Meets Sunday at Crestview Lodge Veteran of Foreign Wars Aux iliary of district No. 6 held their meeting at Crestview lodge, Pa pllllon, Sunday, August 18. Forty-three were present to take part. The Auxiliary meeting was presided over by the district pre sident, Mrs. Lloyd Fitch of Plat tsmouth. Auxiliary members were pre sent from Falls City, Beilevue, riattsmouth, Nebraska City, Peru, Papillion, Tecumseh and Syracuse. ? Guests attending the meeting were: Mrs. Frank Short and Mrs. Irene Lence, Lincoln; Mrs. Con don King and Mrs. Fred Hall man, York, Mrs. Harold Clark, Omaha. Membership chairman Mrs. Tex Rexread of Beilevue report ed 434 Auxiliary members In dis trict 6. Prizes will be given to the three Auxiliaries reporting the largest net gain for the year. A traveling trophy will be presented to first Auxiliary hay ing 100 per cent membership. ; Youth camp chairman Mrs. Edith Wallick gave her report on youth camp held the month of July at Crestview lodge. b The members voted to have a district talent show and pre sent the show at the Veterans hospital in Omaha and Lincoln. Cancer Chairman Mrs. A. C. McLean collected $5.26 in a coin march for the cancer fund. Mrs. Florence Whipple, junior past department president, had 'the conductress 'escort Miss Clark Stockton of Falls City to the presidents station and pre sented her a pin for her three year service as district treasurer. The Falls City Auxiliary were celebrating their ninth anniver sary Sunday and Miss Stockton presented a gift to past District President Mrs. Sophia Wolever for Installing their first Auxil iary officers and a gift to Mrs. Van Maloney as first president. At the close of the meeting a delicious dinner was served by the Papillion post and Auxiliary. Later in the evening dancing was enjoyed by those attending. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. George Jacobs of Lin coln and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Demaree of Plattsmouth. The Reverend Thomas C. Dick pastor of the church, officiated at the 7:30 service. Nancy Coo ver and Karen Thurston, both of Lincoln were candlelighters. Richard Stopher was vocalist and Jimmy Hahn was ringbear er. Traditional white was chosen by the bride for her gown fash ioned of re-embroidered chan tilly lace and taffeta. A port rait neckline heavily appliqued with the lace and continuing a cross the pleated cap sleeve contoured a tautly fit bodice. Mushroom pleating at the hip line was detailed with lace and repeated across the waistline of the bouffant skirt which end ed In a sweep at the back. A templet cloche of matching lace and taffeta from which fell an elbow length veil of imported bridal illusion was worn. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Edwards and Mr. and Mrs. John L. Had raba had as houseguests over the weekend Master Sergeant and Mrs. Theodore Bragg from Ardmore, Okla. Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Coit were guests at the home of Mrs. Blanche Rhoden and Geral. The visitors are from Cameron, Mo., Mrs. Coit being a niece of Mrs. Rhoden. Edwin Mcliugh, Murdock banker and attorney was in the City, under observation and was accompanied by his daugh ters, Debbie and Mary. Mrs. James Benedict is at the St. Mary's hospital in Nebraska City, under observation and treatment. She has been in poor health for some time. She is in room 211 at the hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Johnson of Louisville were Tuesday shop pers and visitors in Plattsmouth While in the city Mr. Johnson renewed his subscription to The Plattsmouth Journal. Helen Lessman and Zul enima Dye of Cass Drug are on a buying trip to Kansas City this week. Mr. and Mrs. Louie Lohncs and son of St. Louis, Mo., ar rived Thursday at . the Elmer Lohnes home, where they will visit relatives for a while. The St. Louis family have been on vacation to Denver, Colorado Springs and stopped at McCook to visit relatives before coming to Plattsmouth. Mr. Lohnes is! with the Postoffice Department! in St. Louis, and was enjoying; a vacation from his work. I J. Mi I 9 Y V 1 Lloyd Demaree with a white orchid and ivy lea ves. Nancy Fleming of Lincoln was maid of honor; bridemaids were Mary Alice Anderjson, Oak land and Mrs. Donald Falk, Lin coln. The three attendants appear ed in white silk organza over matching taffeta. A cuffed ledge contoured the neck of an Empire bodice with its butterfly sleeves, while the circularly cut skirt fl ared to great width at the hem. White lace picture hats complet ed their costumes, and they car ried crescent bouquets of gar denias and carnations accent ed with ivy leaves. Terry Trueblood, Grand Is land, was best man. Ushering were Bill Bosking, Dick Jacobs, Don Falk, all of Lincoln and Dan Huebner of Plattsmouth. After returning from a wedd ing trip to Colorado, the couple will be at home at 2336 B. Street, Lincoln September 1st. The bride attended the Uni versity of Nebraska, a member of Gamma Phi Beta. Mr. Demaree also attended the University of Nebraska, a member of Alpha Tau Omega and will enter the School of Dentistry this fall. Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Chandler and children, Patricia, Margaret, Joan and Gene, of Seattle, Wash., were here this week to enjoy a visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Case and old time friends Herman Smith of Nehawka, was in the city Monday to look after business and visiting old time friends. He has just return ed from Phoenix, Ariz., where he spent a month visiting his daughter, Mrs Dorothy Hen nings. While here he renewed his subscription to the Journal. Guests at the Reverend Delap home are. Mrs. Delap's brother, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Lewis and three children, Allen, Paul and Kathy, of Dclavan, 111. The guests arrived Sunday and de parted Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Urish of W'eeping Water was in the city Monday and while here called at the Journal to renew their sup scription to the Journal. Reverend and Mrs. Eugene Bushnell and family left for their home in Winner, S. D. , Tuesday after a ten day visit here with relatives and friends. Mrs. Elden Gottula and child ren, Terry and Maryann, of Pa sadena, Tex., came to Platts mouth by train and will visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fcldhousen, for two weeks. Mrs. Gottula is the former Jean Feld housen, daughter of her hosts. Mrs. Gottula and children will also visit in Elk Creek with Mi Gottula's relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kruntorad ar enjoying a short vacation trip to Colorado and also to visit their son, Rolland, at Camp Carson, where he has been on training duty with the 30jth heavy wea pons company. iCity C. Of C. Float Shares 1st Plattsmouth Chamber of Com merce tied for first place with Weeping Water in the merchants parade at the Cass County Fair. Theme of the float was " Gar den Party" arranged for Miss Plattsmouth, Janet Campbell, to ride on the float with her at tendants, Barbara Ulrleh, Nan cy Todd, and Judl Lutz. Mary Ann Ryan, another attendant, was unable to be present. Credit for assembling and working on the Chamber float goes to Mrs. Gary Ashbaugh, Helen Lessman, Zulemma Dye, Gretchen Heil, Mrs. Darl Ash baugh, Mrs. George Smith and Mr. and Mrs Dale Bowman. Many From Here At Sidney Rodeo The annual rodeo sponsored by the American Legion at Sid ney, la., opened Tuesday and drew a very large crowd. Tues day evening a very large num ber of the residents of this city and vicinity were present. The Sidney rodeo has grown to be one of the largest in the west, drawing to their meet some of the best talent in riders and cowboys to take part. Two Reappointed Rev. Mina Smith recently was reappointed to serve the Platts mouth Wesleyan Methodist Church of America at the annual Nebraska conference held at At kinson. At the same session, Neil Lancaster, Plattsmouth, was reelected as treasurer of the conference. Marriage Licenses Marriage licenses have been issued to the following in county court here: Kenneth E. Mrs Maurene Tritsch has been enjoying a vacation trip to the Pacific northwest, visiting fri ends in Spokane, Wash., and other points of interest in that part of the west. Employees of the Lincoln Tele phone and Telegraph Company had a farewell party at the Pine Room at the Hotel Coffee Shop for Pauline Rechart in honor of her retirement of August first, i The 14 guests presented the hon- j oree with a gift in memory of her 21 years of service with the company. Mr. and Mrs. Julian Pollard of Nehawka called at the Henry Thiele home Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Stone and daughter Carol of Nehawka spent Tues day evening at the Henry Thie les'. Pvt. Robert Litle, who is at Camp Carson, Colo., taking some special work in aircraft train ing arrived home this morning to make a short visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Seybert Litle. He is stationed at Camp Rucker, Ala., and has been as signed to training in helicopter operation.
